You're funny, I honestly don't know how to respond to someone who believes the bible is a metaphor for something spiritual.

Is hell a metaphor? Is death a metaphor? You've taken a wrong turn somewhere.
yes where do they draw tha line? this is why we are in such big trouble world wide in the churches. we have false teachers allegorizing scripture and making it of none effect like da pharisees. spiritual is da reality he says, straight gnostic teaching mysticism, peter waited for a real kingdom to be restored in acts 1. Why would anyone give a parable or mention something spiritual and then give us specific measurements for a real city. its like u give blue prints to a house and say yeah i lied it was just a metaphor. LOOL this is crazy and dumb and false at da same time no nice way to put it.

Revelation 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

It hasn't happened yet.

Hey, I will say one key word - context.

The context of Relevation is not literal. Or do you really await for the beast with several heads to rule over humanity?

I hope not. Its all symbolic.

I don't personally know him, he debated me in the flat Earth thread and I think his problem is that he believes most of what God says is metaphorical, and he tries to conform to the world and bend scripture. But honestly please don't insult him. Only God knows our hearts and intentions and all good discussion can lead to learning and correction.

I don't think he's a false teacher, just mistaken.

Thanks, a good example where literal reading of spiritual reality can lead... to flat earth conspiracy :)

If we've already metaphorically been given a literal place with dimensions, measurments, streets, gold and other things, then surely the preceding 20 chapters of revelation have already happened too, including but not limited to; Satan being destroyed, the great judgement and all wicked people being destroyed.

Death still exists, ergo chapter 21 of Revelation has not yet come to pass.

2 Timothy 2

14Of these things put
them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 19Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Revelation is not a history record. They are images given by God about various spiritual realities. Dragon is not a literal dragon, lamb is not a literal lamb, city is not a literal city, numbers are symbolic etc.

Also, you are still thinking (according to me) that symbolic or spiritual reading is somehow lower than physical/literal. The opposite is true.
Reality is always better and higher than shadow.

Consider this... The Lamb came in flesh..... so could the dragon come also?

You mean if satan has a power to make some woman pregnant and create half-man half-satan?

I do not think so. But if yes, nothing actually changes for us.

Obviously it will all be based on the astrology etc...

They try to imitate GOD as if to overthrow Him.. it is not possible.. but they believe the delusion... The Almighty writes the ending for them and yet they continue in rebellion... they will be dealt with.

what GOD wants to know is who accepts His New Covenant and will worship Him in Spirit and Truth.. who wants to serve GOD and the Messiah forever?

Or do you love life and will do anything to live? Even worship the beast... I say Nay, I Trust GOD and want to be a servant of the Most High.

Unfortunately it's also a real thing. The Asians didn't worship it out of coincidence.

The beginning of revelation has to precede the end. The enemy of God still exists, so the city cannot already be here.
