By the way..why does the biblical concept of moderation seem to be missed by so many? The simplicity of God's ways often cause well intended folks to miss the mark.

I think it is missed because not every uses the wisdom given them by the Lord.

I dont think God meant to smoke weed(pharmekia) or pop a few pills(pharmekia) in moderation do you? There are some things that are simply off limits because we are new creations in Christ.

Also, some peoples definition of moderation differs from others definition of moderation.

Well if folks are using these things for peace or joy the issue is not with biblical teaching of moderation. .the issue is that they are looking for things that God intended they receive from the Spirit... the biblical standard of moderation. Stands even if some would misuse that truth as they do other liberties of the NT. You don't surrender the truth because of some fear someone might misuse it.
