v.61. The one who says-"Yes, Lord, but..."is the one who is fiercely ready, but never goes. This man had one or two reservations. The exacting call of Jesus Christ has no margins of good-byes, because good-bye as it is often used, is pagen, not Christian. When once the call of God comes, begin to go and never stop going.

Why do you want a proof?
We believe in God existence even when we don't see Him. Although we feel His presence and believe in His Words.
The two Stones where the 10 Commandments were written disappeared.

Thought this reading from My UTMOST For His HIGHEST by Oswald Chambers daily devotional might help in this thread.

In the original language, the commandments are called "ten words." According to the biblical text, they are "words" or laws, spoken by God, not the result of a human legislative process

It is said that the commandments are written on two tablets. That does not mean there were five commandments on each board. Instead, all ten were written in two tables, the first belonged to God who gave the law, and the second belonged to Israel who received the laws.

Written on both sides

Ex 32:16
And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

I am looking for PROOF that what is written in Exodus 20:3-17 is what the “Ten Words” or “Ten Commandments” were. I know God said those things that are in Exodus 20, but I want to know what was REALLY written on the tablets of stone. There are three scripture references that speak of the tablets of stone, but none mention Exodus 20. I see "covenant" but not really what man has labelled the "Ten Commandments."
Exodus 34:28 -"Moshe was there with ADONAI forty days and forty nights, during which time he neither ate food nor drank water. [ADONAI] wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Words."
Deuteronomy 4:13 -"He proclaimed his covenant to you, which he ordered you to obey, the Ten Words; and he wrote them on two stone tablets."
Deuteronomy 10:4 -"He inscribed the tablets with the same inscription as before, the Ten Words which ADONAI proclaimed to you from the fire on the mountain the day of the assembly; and ADONAI gave them to me."
Mark 10:19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’”

DEUTERONOMY 9:10.
And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God;
and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you
in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

in Judaism the (10 Commandments or Words) begin at EX.20:2.
which starts out with the words - I Am The Lord your God....
but in traditional Christianity the words start at EX.20:3.,
you shall have no other gods before Me....

we agree with the Judaic belief because the Shema, is the most important Commandment
according to Jesus Christ.
and the Shema is implicit in EX.20:2.

after all the people witnessed the signs and wonders, they asked Moses,
'you speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us,
lest we die.'
then, the narrative is expanded further in Deut. 5:22. at the end of the
speaking of the 10 Commandments.
'These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly, in the mountain from the midst of the fire,
the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice;
and He added no more. and He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

You must understand the cross and the work of the Holy Spirit. Remove your faith from the works that you do and place your faith in the cross. This allows the Holy Spirit to work in you and through you. It is the only way. Man cannot obtain, that why God sent His son to the cross. The gave the promise of the helper that is the Holy spirit and it is by him as we place our faith in the cross that we are able to keep God's morale code and by no other means. If we reckon it to what we do then we fail, because God will not accept our works only His works will he accept. Meaning we must yeild to the Spirit. I meant, Paul said it is no longer I that lives but Christ through me. Acknowledging that the works he did were not his one but performed by the Holy Spirit. I know that's deep but it is the truth.
Thank you. I understand this.

The stone tablets represent a spiritual or symbolic meaning of keeping the teachings of them permanently in our lives.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

carved in stone and engraved in stone; written in stoneFig. permanent or not subject to change. (Often in the negative.) Now, this isn't carved in stone yet, but this looks like the way it'sgoing to be. Is this policy carved in stone, or can it still be modified?

Once you believe in Jesus Christ from all your heart, you will obey the 10 commandments naturally.

The new covenant will be written not on stone but in the heart, Jeremiah 31: 31-34.

O, some say they don’t believe in the First Commandment of the LORD thy God so the other nine are not relevant, but you can count on them from everlasting to everlasting. Some say they don’t add up, but there are ten of them and even if you subtract from them there are still ten. Others think that the curses will be multiplied if the 10 Commandments are forsaken, while others think they result in division. But I am calculating on their always being a blessing.
I also believe that what we call the Ten Commandments still have great value and they will not be irrelevant - at least not until the 1000 Year reign of Christ. :p
Thank you for the respectful way you told me to shove off
You’re welcome. I didn’t really mean it as “shove off” though. Rudeness and nastiness doesn’t belong here, but I confess, I have become less than pleasant ain times past on the forums when accusations were leveled at me.
But as far as proof, it's in the pudding- but don't tell anyone.
I grew up with that old proverb and it usually turns out to be true. However, God’s Word is full of mysteries, not secrets – mysteries…mysteries that we are to search out. It is what keeps studying the Bible fresh and interesting, even exciting. And as I mentioned before, I see “covenant” in those scriptures and after a study of the types of covenants, I really do believe that something other than the well-known “Thou shalt not…” commandments was written on those tables of stone. So, I continue to search this out and I know when I find out what was written there, I will have grown closer to my God as He led me to a greater understanding of Him. And I will be one step further along in having the mind of Christ. Yay! I love that!
