Maybe that is the problem?
nooooooo,.....ppl who have an opinion about isms, who get involved in isms threads and claim they have no isms is the problem. they argue against isms they know nothing about.

and in the process develop anti-isms which are their own isms.

see? easy.

Don't need to know one's ism to know when it does not agree to Scripture......

Besides, does one need to know all about a certain cult in order to see an error.....

Does one need to know all about satan to know that he is a liar....

Certainly, Adam and Eve, even Jesus, did not invite satan to set down to learn all about his side before they made a decision

It is amazing how the Spirit of Truth speaks Truth

So, no!!! I do not need to learn all about an ism to know when it does not match up to Scripture.....

Hey,hey hey, anti-ism is also an 'ism'
Okay.....An ism from Scripture is an ism. I will give you all that much. Now, who do you all say you follow: Paul? Apollos? Luther? Shall we follow that man or this Man? Are these isms not the ponderings of another man? Has Christ died in vain? Is He not the One who said, "Come and follow me". Yet, how is it that to follow another's path is not considered wrong?

Then tell me who has set and learned all there is to know of another's theology before they are to discern?

One comes in and says, blacks are God's chosen people? Did you have to learn all he had to say before you concluded it was not Scriptural? Nah!!!!

Another comes in and says that God done valguredly, do you really need to know all he has to say before discerning? Nah!!!!

So, do I really need to know all it is to know of an ism when I clearly see it errs from Scripture? Nah!!!!!

But, thank you though.....

While that is true that the Spirit of truth speaks truth, men on the other hand can say one thing and mean something completely different. Just because one says they believe Jesus is the son of God does not mean that they mean it the same way you do. There are at least three different ways people take a look at His resurrection. Some believe it's just a metaphor, some believe He only rose again as a Spirit, and others believe He physically rose from the dead. If some one just says they believe Jesus rose from the dead and does not clarify what they mean how do you know they are speaking of the same thing you are?

I have no fight with the isms as long as they are correctly interpreted and applied.

I would first ask another for an explanation.

Example:
Christ rose...
From where....
From the grave to be a renewed man, period...

From that, I see error and I did not have to learn his whole theology. Simply put, the Spirit of Truth would have led me to Scripture to see that error of not saying He rose as our Savior.

“It is possible to know all about doctrine and yet not know Jesus. The soul is in danger when knowledge of doctrine out steps intimate touch with Jesus. ....Have I a personal history with Jesus Christ? The one sign of discipleship is intimate connection with Him, a knowledge of Jesus Christ nothing can shake.”

In that passage you are referring to some even said ''I am of Christ''! The problem wasn't Paul, Cephas, Apollos or Christ...the problem Paul was rebuking was the emphasis on 'I' (pronounced as 'eye' or 'ay').

1Co 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
1Co 1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Do we not all belong to Christ? Did Paul die for us? Were we baptized in Paul's name? Do we follow Paul or do we follow Christ?

Why the division to follow many, when we are to follow One? Don't follow me or that one, follow Christ.

Later he says to those who would follow another besides Christ that they who they wanted to follow were nothing more than workers in the field.

Why should we follow another in his teachings (his ism) when we have Christ to follow?

P.S. all these questions were rhetorical, no need to answer them.

Yes. Easy. cfultz attack and look for faults in just about everything and everyone who happen to stand for something biblically sound. While he calls people like skinski his "brother". Speaks volumes..

Saying it is okay to hate is biblical? I thought it says something along the lines of love (even your enemies)?
Condemning others is biblical? I though it says that there is but One Judge?
Slandering, damning, ridiculing others is biblical? I though......
