Would that means that God changed his mind? Is that even possible?
I think you are missing the point. the point being that the place where Abraham went to slay his child was the same place Jesus died and the symbolism was that it would God's son Jesus that would provide the Innocent Blood as the ram symbolized. It was never any intention of God to have Abraham kill his son Isaac..Why because God had already promised Abraham that Isaac and Jacob would be heirs to this covenant Genesis 17:1-19

If 'God' told me to sacrifice my child,I would flip out, because it would not be God.I have not ever heard anything that was not actually there.

That is the good thing about knowing reality, and the truth of God,for if you ever did start to lose your marbles, and heard something, you would know if it is true,or not,but God gives the saints a sound mind,so while they may have physical faults,it would seem like their mind would always operate properly.

God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, but the only one that thought it was real was Abraham, for God never had the intention of allowing Abraham to do it,but wanted to test Abraham's loyalty to Him,which God was against child sacrifice, and even got on Israel concerning that when they started doing it like the heathen, and God said to stop it for He did not tell them to do that, and it never entered His heart that they should do such.

God did not change His mind concerning Abraham sacrificing Isaac, for God never had the intention of allowing Abraham to do it.If Abraham refused God would know His loyalty. If Abraham went to go through with it,God would know his loyalty, and stop him,so when God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, right from the beginning He never had the intention of the child being sacrificed, only testing Abraham if he would go through with it,or not,but God was always against it the whole time.

Question for bible study? Isa. 57:1-2

Why did God allow the premature death of "Jobs" children?

What is the meaning of a premature death of a child?

What would you do if God called home your only child before they reach adult age?

This Scripture cannot be taken out of context. Abraham knew the promise of G-d, that thru his seed he will have as many decedents as the grains of sands and/or numerous as the stars. Genesis 22:5 Abraham said… "Stay here with the donkey," Abraham told the servants. "The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back." Right before he and Isaac went up the mountain. Not to mention Isaac was in his 30s. they both had faith that I don’t necessarily understand. My personally belief, Father Abraham believed G-d would resurrect Isaac.

To answer the question, no. Idon't even have enough faith to kill my flesh over half of the time.

Not that it matters, but Job's children were not little.

No and I will tell you why. I would not believe that such a command came from God. I would believe I was mentally ill and needed help. Such a command would go counter to "you shall not kill" ( It sounds so much more authoritative in King James but it would be pretentious of me to use it as I do not speak in that way on a day to day basis).
I do not think that my relationship with God is the same as the relationship God had with Abraham. I think their communication was something that left no doubt. I know the correct answer is that I would trust God enough to obey. The truth is that I do not trust myself enough to be 100% sure that my hearing and understanding is trustworthy enough to commit such a horrible action.
