If God predestined us, as far as salvation goes, then why did Jesus say ''whosoever''(John 3:16). and why are we told to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling? (Philippians 2:12). When it says God predestined us, that's talking about how He knows everything about us, even to every single hair on our head. He predestined Christians to go to heaven, in other words, those who accept Him. John 3:17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. When it says ''the world'' it means all who are ever born and live in the world. Pretty clear on that.
I talked about John 3:16 in one of my posts.
It is referring to different nations. not the "whole world" remember salvation was first for the Jew then the Gentile

truth divides.
Jeremiah 17:9

people like me? you mean people who proclaim the Gospel(not referring to calvinism at the moment) not lukewarm stuff most churches are doing these days.
I have never said anything about lukewarm. I proclaim the gospel as well. I tell it how it is, not how people have twisted the words.

No, he said ''the world'' meaning everyone. The Jews first, because they are God's chosen people.

This is one of the main problems with calvinism. You have to change what scripture mean rather than believing it as it is written to make it conform to your preconceived beliefs.

I don't change it. I look at the context.

Phoenix: No, they didn't ''choose'' God. They were convicted by God for their sins, they accepted the gift of salvation.

Watchmen: HAHAHAHAHA thanks man, needed a good laugh...true what you said though. God bless you brother.

@stand_up this would be a good time to show some christian fruits. this is a friendly debate(or it had intended to be from me)

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."-John 3:16

" For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek."-Romans 1:16
we see in both of these verses that it says whoever. yet look at what it says in romans it is talking about the Jew and the Greek for Salvation was only the Jews. for God Chose Them. they did not Choose God.
Ok now when Jesus died and the vail was torn. now Salvation could be for both the Jew and the Gentile. thus the whosoever.

Joshua 24:15
And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

As for nations. well what does John see in revelation. He sees people from different nations tribes and tounges. different parts of the world yet not the whole world cause we also see people being cast into the lake of fire.
I'm sorry i am very tired. I wish though that there be no sarcastic remarks nor any mocking or hateful remarks. we are christians

again people throw this one in but it does not refer to the Gospel message.

1 Corinthians 1
12 Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.”
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
15 lest anyone should say that I had baptized in my own name.
16 Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.

Can we add "I am of John Calvin"

???????????????????????????

You know, I just wonder...what was the point in this thread? I mean it had to be for an argument...considering the ''see if you can find fault in me'' or whatever at the end of that post you put up...ah well, no worries. I respect you as a person, you believe as you want. I'll stick with the true word of God though.
