Wow, that is really sad.

If fear of hell is the only thing keeping you following God...are you sure it's God you are actually following?

God's message is about love and fellowship with Him. The joy and peace of having fellowship with God is what keeps me following His commands. I know He has my best interest at heart, not just mine but the whole world.

I was a believer since I was 15, you just never know.
With this statement I believe we should pray.

Dear God we lift our brother up. He has not learnt to listen to Your voice. Does not recognize your moving in his life and is left with questions that no one but You can truly answer with satisfaction. Lord surround him with people truly filled with Your Holy Spirit. Be with him during this time as he searches for Your wisdom. Have him dig deep, past what the church typically teaches the youth and find heavenly wisdom in your Words found in the Bible. Give him Lord discernment to know the difference between good and evil. The arrows may fly, but protect our hearts Lord to stay true to You. Thank you God for renewing our minds and filling out hearts with Your peace and joy. God we pray not to change your mind or convince you, but so we might conform our minds and hearts to Your will.

Lord Jesus we need you. Amen.

Ever feel like a mouse to a cat? We were just toyed with and then the cat got bored.

Little does the cat know, God did this to the cat.

Killing = Mercy

Yes I've heard this reasoning before, it's an old apologetic concept.
Hey Mate.....regardless of the fact that you have heard or not heard it before....the statement rings true.....

What part of Stralia are you from....I spent 4 months in NSW.....Penrith, Mulgoa, Blacktown, Paramatta, Emu Plains, Sydney, Blue Mountains etc......?

Let me ask the people still active in this thread, do you think it is indistinguishable at times to know which master you are serving? Or would you say it is always clear to oneself as evidence of their fruit and the likes?

No, but even in the midst of a spanking, I honestly can't say I feared him.
I mean... I use to laugh when I was whipped. I would crack up. One time my dad used a wooden spoon and it broke in two and he would say that I have "buns of steel." He is a fan of Superman, haha. I would just start laughing, even my sister babysitting tried spanking me one time and she said when I was little I would just laugh. For whatever reason I either grew accustomed to it, or something, but I didn't really experience any lasting pain. The initial whip may have made me tighten up but often times I would be laughing hysterically. :p

I can't say I have ever feared my Earthly Dad.
Maybe reverence would be a better word...as far as my statement.....my dad was killed when I was three and my brother and I had step dads that beat the crap out of us.....and I had no love for either one, but for sure as a kid feared them......now I just pity them...both lost and on their last legs......

Reverence and respect, certainly. But I truly do believe many Christians have solidly taken the normally accepted definition of FEAR deep into their hearts, and have internally turned our creator into a vindictive bringer of impending doom, greatly to be terrified of upsetting in even the slightest way.

I'm hoping you don't think this is how our God should be seen.

When Mom told us to do something, we knew we might have wiggle room.

When Dad told us to do something, we jumped. Would he spank us if we tried to wiggle? No. But it was definitely a no-nonsense relationship. That's the fear I had with my dad and our Dad.

Yeah, I always looked to my Heavenly father because my earthy one didn't deserve the title.

God has never failed me and always listens when we pray.

Not hardly.....he loves his children way more than we love our children..........and if we being evil know how to give good gifts to our children......

So it's a fact that the Christian God who is Jesus, kills people (Or lets say for the sake of the argument) has killed people.

God has killed millions, and not just evil people (Animals, children & infants both male and female)

How is this acceptable?
The peoples that God told the Israelites to wipe out were not human..but nephilim..They were very evil cannibalistic giants. In the days of Noah all the population of the Earth and most of the animals were corrupted with Nephilim DNA Only Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives were uncorrupted.. No humans died there either

the people (noah and his family) were spared. the ones that died were corrupted, they were no longer people. the Most High was protecting His creation, the way a father would protect his child from a rabid wild animal.
you have another example?
You have the answer...Expound on it
