The baptism serves to anoint and empower the believer so that as he does the will of God, he will have more ease and success and less striving.

More success with doing Gods will?
Respectfully, of those I know that claim what you have just claimed; they werent doing any better than I am:) In fact , some had pretty messed up lives to be honest.
Yes, more success and more ease in fulfilling God's calling on one's life, and with less striving to do it, along with less burnout or breakdown due to heavy loads. Those who walk in their anointing may have struggles---we all do. Problems are par for the course, especially for those who walk in the anointing. The devil sees the markers on their lives and zeroes in on them to try to make them ineffective for Christ. These folk learn to become overcomers.

Im talking about "mature" christians willfully sinning and being apathetic in their walk. I am fully aware when we serve the Lord with all we got that satan will fight us. We are hurting his cause. That is not what I was getting at. Anemic faith makes him happy and he doesnt bother with believers that do nothing with spreading the gospel.
The anointing > baptism into the Holy Spirit is at moment of regeneration. I didnt see you reply to ahwahtukees input or dalcons. Did you? Just wondering

There is nothing reprobate about me. That you would accuse someone so easily reveals a very critical spirit within you. You do not have discernment, that's for sure. You are just ugly, today.
We are told to try the spirits, you have been tried and failed. When someone rejects the words of God as truth, they are not of the Spirit of Truth. To say the One baptism that brings one into the body of Christ is not that of the Holy Spirit is false doctrine and is not of God's Holy Spirit. I stand by what I said, you are reprobate.

You obviously do not understand enough to try the spirits. You may not like or agree with what I am saying, but you are awfully quick to make false judgments and heap scorn on a follower of Jesus. I never trust the spirit that motivates a person like that.

I speak of what the Lord has taught me, and of what I know to be true. If you disagree, do so, then move along, but to act so childish and mean is just how someone who is not walking in the Spirit would act. You move in the flesh.

In Spirit and In Truth is far from who you are, obviously.

Actually, you are believing and spreading lies, here. You do not fully understand the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Join the ranks.
I fully understand that you do not know what it is your talking about. Again, you reject what the word of God says is true, and you think your own words some how trump the words of God found in scripture? LOL! Your not only reprobate, but your also under strong a delusion. Stop spreading lies and Repent!

Good thread I too was very sceptical about tounges. I had been a believer for many years but had never been taught about tounges. One night I was going through a difficult time in my walk and just cried out to God to fix me my walk was like a rollercoaster with many dips and curves never really where I felt I should've after all this time. Right then the Holy Spirit just infilled me like rushing water and fire my whole being shook for nearly an hour.I fell asleep with such a peace and a spirit of thankfulness and in the morning I woke up with a peace and contentment I had never know. I have forever been changed by that experience and it is for any who would ask, seek or knock. There are many things God will reveal to those who draw near.He searches the whole earth looking for those who's heart is pure for Him.

Again, YOU ARE SPEAKING CONTRARY TO THE WORDS OF GOD! The Lord did not teach you that, men did! If you don't believe the words of God I showed you in scripture, then you don't know the Truth because God's Word does not dwell in you.

Sorry, bub, but you only know and talk about what you think you know. Now, THAT is delusion!

I never reject what the word of God says. I make it a point to know it, and speak it. I have nothing to repent of, but you sure do, for speaking disgracefully here to a believer in Jesus. You don't have to agree, but to disagree with such venom makes me question who rules you. I will give myself some time before I make a firm, godly judgment about that.

I speak only what the word of God says and teaches. You are in the dark about this, obviously. Maybe it's time you draw in your claws, and sit back in silence to learn from Him.

I believe it is entirely possible that you are self-taught and self-led, and that is dangerous. You set yourself up as judge and jury of people. How inane that is! Your attitude here serves the enemy of God, because he despises the truth with a passion---especially about the Holy Spirit---and your response is exactly like his.

Tongues does not indicate baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Tongues does not indicate baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Of course it does. Every single believer in scripture who experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit came away speaking in tongues. They certainly didn't do it before! It is not the only indicator, however, but the other gifts the baptism of the Holy Spirit often take time to show up in the lives of those to whom the Lord has given them. Tongues is the most quickly observable manifestation in His people.

I am anointed of the Lord and I can't stand lies from hypocrites like yourself. What you said in post #112 shows you don't speak according to the words of God. Your lie is right there for all to see, I even provided scripture to prove it. :)

NOT ACCORDING TO THE WORDS OF GOD! HOW ARE WE ALL BAPTIZED INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST? HERE IS THE TRUTH....

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Without the ONE baptism of the Holy Spirit you are not a part of the body of Christ!

Your lies have been exposed!

Well baptism my not have included any tounges with your experience. For me when I was first baptized with water I had no experience with tounges either. Was nearly 20 years later I was baptized with the Holy Spirit an one morning shortly after woke up with a song of tounges coming out of me. Having not been in a church that believed such things for twenty years I then changed churches lol

I f you read carefully the testing of Jesus in the wilderness there is one account of Him entering in the Spirit and then leaving in the Spirit and Fire He then started His ministry. This is the scripture the Lord showed me and spoke to me of what had happened to me.

All Christians have the indwelling Holy Spirit, but He wants to fill us to overflowing with His power and anointing. Countless Christians do not walk in His power and anointing. They are just happy to have their "fire insurance". Many are great teachers and leaders and workers for the Lord, but they find themselves striving and striving. Holy Spirit's baptism helps the believer wade through His calling like a hot knife through butter.

I agree with some of what youve said about what I cal an anemic christian but tongues is NOT the evidence of baptism into the spirit.

I actually think it is you who is spreading lies. Im sorry if this sounds harsh but you dont have a problem with saying stuff like that so whats fair for the goose is fair for the gander

This is what we all have a problem with:
Your linking your gift of tongues to baptism of spirit. It is NOT rightly dividing the word and it is lofty mindset
