Im talking about "mature" christians willfully sinning and being apathetic in their walk. I am fully aware when we serve the Lord with all we got that satan will fight us. We are hurting his cause. That is not what I was getting at. Anemic faith makes him happy and he doesnt bother with believers that do nothing with spreading the gospel.
The anointing > baptism into the Holy Spirit is at moment of regeneration. I didnt see you reply to ahwahtukees input or dalcons. Did you? Just wondering
First, if people are "mature" Christians, they wouldn't be suffering with apathy, as they would know enough to cast it off. You are correct in that the devil doesn't bother too much with Christians who are ineffective in their walk and witness. That is His goal---to render Christians ineffective, by striking them at their faith and their perceived weaknesses by throwing negative circumstances and illness in their way.

Our regeneration occurs at the moment that faith in Jesus Christ is birthed in us. The baptism of the Holy Spirit can and does occur at the same time in some people, but for the most part, people learn about it and ask the Lord for it. Countless Christians don't even know about it, or understand it because no one has taught them.

Get those 2 witnesses from the book of revelation that you said are inside of you so that you can pour forth fire unto people that disagree with you....get them or you to spit fire on her..that'll teach her to repent...

Again, YOU ARE SPEAKING CONTRARY TO THE WORDS OF GOD! The Lord did not teach you that, men did! If you don't believe the words of God I showed you in scripture, then you don't know the Truth because God's Word does not dwell in you.

ROTFL.......

I am anointed of the Lord and I can't stand lies from hypocrites like yourself. What you said in post #112 shows you don't speak according to the words of God. Your lie is right there for all to see, I even provided scripture to prove it. :)

NOT ACCORDING TO THE WORDS OF GOD! HOW ARE WE ALL BAPTIZED INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST? HERE IS THE TRUTH....

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Without the ONE baptism of the Holy Spirit you are not a part of the body of Christ!

Your lies have been exposed!

I am anointed also. So, why do you counter what the Lord speaks in His word?

Calling people names and acting vile toward them is not of Christ. So, you have just negated your self-proclamation. We all can see that as plain as day.

You don't know what you are blathering on about. Read the word. Know the word.

Acts 8:16
The Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them, for they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Acts 10:47
“Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?”

As you can see above, there is the baptism of water into Jesus Christ which we are commanded to submit to, and there is the baptism of the Holy Spirit---also.

Im speaking of christians that have claimed christianity for like 30 yrs. I should have said long time instead of mature. They claim to be mature.

I didnt see you reply to ahwahtukees input or dalcons. Did you? Just wondering
Here again, you neglected to answer my question. Im beginning to think it is intentional.

Why should there be a gulf between believers?
because some believers would have equipment and empowerment and others would be unequipped and dis-empowered. I think this would make a big difference.

Everyone has been given ability in Him...
then it sounds like all believers are empowered.

We are supposed to be encouraging each other in the Lord.
yes! and encouraging us all to be of one mind.

Claims mean nothing. I know very young Christians (in years), even children, who are more mature spiritually than people who have been saved for decades.

Why do you so quickly go to a negative intention? Come now. Let's be adults. Perhaps you can reword your request in a more plain way?

In Christ, we all are empowered. Those who seek and experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit experience a complete dousing of His presence. It doesn't breed high and low class believers. We are all one in Christ!

What will it take for you to repent of speaking lies in the Lords name, just as she has also done? Those who swear falsely by the Lords name shall feel the fire soon enough. :)

Aha! You make a claim that you have some spirit of the two witnesses spoken of in Revelation IN YOU?

Sorry, but that would be another spirit entirely. I get it now. Your demeanour in this thread reveals it. Christian forums have their fair share of self-proclaimed prophets--false ones. Their mouths and their lack of fruit thereof declare it.

I've got your number now, LOL!

Your references do not refer to the baptism, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit as we submit to it. We can all have it by simply asking God for it. It is give to us, and available to us, but we have to dive in.

Acts 10:44-48
Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. [SUP]45 [/SUP]The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too. [SUP]46 [/SUP]For they heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God.Then Peter asked, [SUP]47 [/SUP]“Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?”
[SUP]48 [/SUP]So he gave orders for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Afterward Cornelius asked him to stay with them for several days.

Acts 19:1-7
While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers. [SUP]2 [/SUP]“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them.
“No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

[SUP]3 [/SUP]“Then what baptism did you experience?” he asked.
And they replied, “The baptism of John.”

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.”

[SUP]5 [/SUP]As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied. [SUP]7 [/SUP]There were about twelve men in all.

Acts 10:44-49
This 1st group was baptized with the Holy Spirit by God before being water baptized to serve God's purpose, and the purpose mentioned here in this and the next 5 chapters was to put an end to the contentious Jews who did not believe Gentiles had the right to salvation as they did.

Thus God gave these Gentiles the Holy Spirit (baptized in Him) before water immersion to prove to them Gentiles do have a right to the same salvation !!!

Acts 19:1-7
This passage here is showing proof that the Holy Spirit is not given at minute one of belief and being baptized by John.

It was not tell verse 5 when they were baptized in Christ's name and then Paul laying hands on them that the baptism of the Holy Spirit came to them.

This passage shows they did not receive the Holy Spirit before they were baptized !!!

The scriptures given to you by InSpiritInTruth did refer to the baptism of the Holy Spirit, so I don't know how you come away with they don't. They are not talking about water immersion !!!

My point is that there are two separate events in the life of a believer---the obedience to the baptism in water, and the subsequent (mostly) baptism in the Holy Spirit (and fire---not water).

Of course it does. Every single believer in scripture who experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit came away speaking in tongues. They certainly didn't do it before! It is not the only indicator, however, but the other gifts the baptism of the Holy Spirit often take time to show up in the lives of those to whom the Lord has given them. Tongues is the most quickly observable manifestation in His people.

.

Wrong not every believer in the bible after receiving the Holy Spirit spoke in tongues, I think you need to go reread again if that is what you think !!!

Apostle Paul even stated not all believers speak in tongues, but according to you they do !!!

For me, I received other gifts beside tongues, but it is tongues that is readily observable.
by observable do you mean speaking in tongues out loud?

is it fair to say, then, that at the time a person is baptized by the holy spirit, they speak in tongues out loud?

Yes, every believer in the New Testament would have experienced the subsequent baptism of the Holy Spirit. Tongues is not the barometer of that experience. The tongues gift that Paul was talking about in conjunction with all the others is the prophetic gift that God uses to speak to the assembly. Of course not everyone has that gift, but we all, when baptized in the Holy Spirit are able to pray in tongues if we so desire to seek after it.

It is not a command to do so, but it is a blessing to us, as God edifies the believer who speaks to Him in such an intimate exchange.
