Reminds me of the Social Contract Theory.
Pretty much the same general subject. You can't really make sense of human behavior without at least getting the jist of it IMO

It basicall comes down to do you really believe the bible and believe its words should sincerely be understood and obeyed in the grace of God.
Right, we all struggle with different sins, but we should be letting the Bible change us. We shouldn't be trying to change the Bible. Otherwise, we're making Christ in our image, when He really made us in His image.

For example, if you're okay with people murdering babies in the womb and you're a Christian, I would strongly disagree with you, but you'd be a Christian (as much as I would struggle with the idea). That said, you would need to grow to become more like Christ. God is Life, not Death.
Or even something like Evolution. I believe Christians can believe in Evolution and still be Christian, but there comes a point where consistency is warranted in the faith and Theistic Evolution just isn't consistent.
Yeah I agree.

People should avoid labels like "liberal" and "conservative"... I try to take issue as it comes and make an educated position based on what is best and what the bible says on the matter. It does not matter to me where on the political spectrum that position lays.

Maybe so but politics tend to support one idea or the opposite of that idea. But the OP hasnt come back to tell us what she means by liberal Christian. Just that Christians frustrate her.Not sure she'll be back to give us that definition though.

Yeah you can be pro-choice and a Christian, you would just have the wrong position.
In which case, the answer to the OP's question would be, no, regarding that specific issue.

I shimmer at the thought of one day watching pro-abortionists twitch and squirm before God as they try and defend their insatiable passion for infanticide.

No, not really, actually I like the thought of watching them twitch and squirm.

I wear the conservative label as a badge of honor.

Really, when you used the word, "shimmer", you already expressed the joyously anticipatory thought repeated in your final sentence.

What is it about, no, not really, that you don't understand? You bet I wait with joyous anticipation. God is Just, and I look forward to His justice coming to fruition.

Oh, I know most Christians hypocritically live, saying "love your enemies", while inwardly hating them, just longing for the time they hope they will get to "ride with Jesus in a 'Holy' army, slaughtering millions with a 'shimmering' sword."

However, the point of my post was that I'm pretty sure you meant to say "shiver", but you typed "shimmer."

Some day I will make a controversial thread to end all controversial threads. A thread so controversial it will put all others to shame. You will all be speechless in awe of its argumentative potential. It will run on for more pages than the Streams thread now has, as arguments flare and people yell at each other in text. Something like "what version of the Bible would a homosexual antichrist use while helping Santa Clause decide when the Tribulation will be?" But that is just a rough draft, the real thing will be much more controversial.

In the meantime this whole thread is meaningless. PoetMary got it in one. Conservative and liberal are labels that shouldn't be applied to people. Arguments over whether a christian is conservative or liberal are pointless because you can't say "this is what all conservatives believe and this is what all liberals believe."

Of course futility never stood in the way of a good argument... Go ahead, carry on with the putting down of each other.

Ok, let's be frank. Do you, yourself, (Kaylagrl) believe what Revelation says about Jesus leading an Army to slaughter the ones who didn't accept Him. (Trying to get some groundwork laid here.)

Sorry to interrupt the already ongoing argument in progress, but I just wanted to say that I liked Willie's comment because I've known a lot of Christians in real life... who seem to be awfully happy that a lot of people are going to be eternally damned.

While I myself struggle with anger and sometimes hatred issues, I've just never understood how we can be at peace with the thought of looking forward to the destruction of others and call ourselves Christians.

Especially when God Himself says, "Surely I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?" Ezekiel 33:11. (Interestingly, God is talking to His OWN people-- which is US, in essence--in this verse.)

Of course we as believers can look forward to God's kingdom coming to pass, but if He doesn't look forward to seeing unbelievers struck down, why should we?

Thank you for reminding of this, Willie.

Sorry for the derail, but this really stood out to me.
