Hmm. And I find it interesting that you're keeping track of the posts I like, though I don't feel I need to give explanations as to why I've liked them. Since you've pointed it out, however, I will say that I find the author of the particular post you zeroed in on to be particularly insightful and humorous, and I happen to like a lot of his posts.

If you have questions about why I've liked other posts as well, feel free to ask. (I almost feel slightly stalked!)

You made a thread about what you felt you needed to say... glad you were able to express your thoughts.
I also have enjoyed many of Ken's posts.

Someone making a singular observation about something does not constitute 'tracking' or 'stalking'.

:)

GaryA, you may say that this thread was simply to inform, but I don't buy it. I think you had other motives. For the record, you can say you're self aware and not truly be. Denial is a funny thing. Now, the reason I think you had other motives is because Stilly covered all the points you made. And honestly, he did a better job.
"Think what you will. That is O.K. --- you will understand on Judgment Day..."

Stilly said that, when a man looks at a woman's body, a perception / reaction occurs within the 'physiological' realm of his existance that may cascade into the 'psychological' / 'mental' / 'emotional' realms... ??? REALLY??? I missed that post...

By the way, I said that you (or anyone, really) don't get to blame the opposite sex for their attraction or lust issues.
I am not for blaming the opposite sex for "attraction or lust issues"; however, I am for helping the opposite sex better understand some things from the [ other ] perspective.

And my point about physiology stands. Anything can be over ridden with enough work.
Your point about physiology is in error. In almost the same breath ( so to speak ), you have denied yourself by stating that what I said was false ( that women affect men on a physiological level through visual stimulus ) and the paragraph below:

Whether a human is Christian or not, we as people are VERY well aware that we effect people on a physiological level. And anyone, assuming they're not a child, who denies that fact, is lying. A lot of people would rather not believe they have a physical effect on anyone, but that belief is simply nonsense and denial.

Maybe I'm strange but I didn't find the original post offensive. I also don't think that he meant that men are pigs and can't control themselves. Just my opinion.
Thank you, Fenner. No, you are not strange. I imagine that you are simply self-disciplined enough to not "let your imaginations run away with you" to the point of causing you to react to a post before you understand more perfectly what it is actually saying.

"I am guessing that you probably get more out of your bible studies ( than some others ) because you actually pay more attention to what is - and is not - being said..." ;)

( I was planning to go further into detail on this subject -- but, who knows what kind of riots would break out... )

 :(

Are there any women out there who really want to understand this issue, from a man's point of view?

Are there any men out there who are willing to validate it?

:)

It's really much simpler than all of this. Women and men both look in order to assess a person's suitability for making healthy babies. Humans have an innate drive to procreate with the healthiest looking humans available to them, hence why chiselled, muscular 6ft 4 men tend to get more attention than a guy who's 4ft and sick all the time. The same way, if a woman looks healthy, in good shape, well figured and has a full facial bone structure (indicating no complications or growth stunts in the womb, thus good genes) then it shows she is physiologically likely to carry a healthy baby. She'll be fitter, faster, more agile and better equipped to deal with any threats than a sickly woman, for instance.

Muscle tone (round bottom, large thighs) implies that she eats healthily, thus obviously has access to food and she exercises well, thus having a higher metabolic rate. Not to mention the fact that if she ever has a daughter she'll probably grow up to be pretty and have her choice of mate, too, thus furthering the lineage.

When it all boils down, right to the core, a very very large part of everything that humans do is about the subconscious drive to have a partner and further the species.

Unfortunately, human mating is extremely complex and looking is an issue for women.

I always laugh when a woman dresses scantily and expects men not to look.

I have to agree with you. I think enough has been said on the topic for years and years. :)

You are the resident teacher here, Tintin, so the kids involved need to go back to class. Some of the kids here need to repeat a grade or two as well. Do you handle things like that or is it up to God? :p

At least one of the kids needs to be sent to the principal's office for totally disrupting the class -- thinking she knows more about what is being taught than the teacher -- robbing other students who actually may wish to learn -- and, for not only - not recognizing who the teacher is in that classroom - but also, willfully trying to discredit and slander him - and spit in his face - and hijack his class...

God will handle it. ;)

Yeah, see, that's the rub, GaryA. You think you know more than someone else simply because you happened to bring up the topic. I was under the impression that this thread was a discussion and not a lecture. From this point on, I'll always know anything from you is a "lesson" and not anything to be discussed.

It is very prideful to assume you know more than someone else. I'll have to remember that about you too.

You know, there was a thread not too long ago (a month or so) ago about people like you who come in and feel the need to "teach". It wasn't so much that we didn't appreciate the topic... the irritation and insult that bubbled up was due to the assumption by the "teacher" that we needed to be taught. It was the hubris that was offensive. And if you don't believe me, go look up the thread.

I've read this whole thing, and, like others, didn't see GaryA do or say ANY of the things you are accusing him of, or the things you are insulting him over.

Speaking of blaming & insulting, the only one I see doing this is YOU! I'm trying to figure out who left you in charge to manipulate another person's thread & consistantly insult him? You say you don't buy his statement? Fine..... Nobody's twisting yer arm & making you stay here.

This isn't the first time you did this to somebody...... you did it to me a couple of weeks ago the same way. I'm a personal witness to these rantings of yours.

IMO, instead of asking GaryA to quit playing teacher, I think somebody needs to ask you to quit playing a hanging judge.

You do know a rant when you see one, don't you? You being the author, and apparently the finisher, of this one in particular.

And you would agree with GaryA on this type of thing... you're guilty of doing the exact same thing.

I see you weren't paying much attention either. Gary has been insulting to several of us in this thread. If you want to stick up for him, fine. But be Fox News, okay? You know... fair and balanced?

Why is it okay for you to accuse me, and then fancy yourself as someone who unveils the truth? However, when I do it, I'm some sort of insulting and manipulative person?

I'm actually going to play this card, it's not really my style, but in this case, I think it applies... Neither one of you (you Stephen and GaryA) do well with being corrected by or challenged by a woman. Again, I think the "woman" card applies. Neither of you men seem to take an argument seriously if it's by a woman. I've read your (and GaryA's) other posts and have for some time. Because I've read your posts it's one reason why I don't really like or respect you.

There are many men in this forum (and a few others) that I respect greatly. I take their advisement and corrections seriously. But in men like you and your cohort, I don't see the point.

The pride of your "knowledge" is only worshiped by you. Not by the rest of us.

There comes a point where one has to be the bigger person and be okay with not having the last word. This is one of those points.

The last word should be "taco".

Which is exactly what you think about yourself except you come across as self-absorbed, self-serving and self-righteous.

You are not authorized to teach over men nor even have authority over them.

If you have a problem with somebody talk to them in private as per biblical instructions.

She often does this when she sees something she doesn't agree with. I find she pulls things out of thin air that are contextually unrelated to the thread or responses. She did it to me a couple of weeks ago too. Had nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Accusing people of this and that is just poor conflict resolution skills and really wanting to gain dominion over a man. Smells of feminism to me.

Why she keeps attacking you and GaryA just because she doesn't like you is beyond my comprehension. Hardly a good Christian witness.

I know, right? To me it's like stepping out your front door to get a breath of air & outta nowhere the dog across the street runs over & bites you on the leg unprovoked. I don't know why either. She's never did this in the past. To my knowledge we've never argued before.
