If it is only restricted to those two options, sex is for procreation, it can give pleasure/fun. But as had previously been stated by several, I agree that it is truly for intimacy and strength in marriage.

My answer: Making kids, but it is only the best answer, not the right one.

I think the procreation bit, is only if you desire children, so while its important I dont think its the main goal, especially considering the amount of people who can't or don't want to have children.

Something created by God for a purpose doesn't change its purpose because sin has made it improbable, or because people don't desire to follow God's purpose.

I voted Single-Male-Both

For me, Proverbs 5:19 and The Song of Solomon answers this.

"Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love"

Of course some people don't have near as much of a "drive" as others though!

Sex is for procreation. It is meant for married people who vowed to build a family.

It's for fun and love between a married couple. Just take the rubber off if you really want kids. But, I have to note, that it doesn't always work out. Either there is something wrong with the man or there could be something wrong with the woman. Even then sex can be just sex when either woman or man wants more out of it.

No offense, but i think that you are NOT reading it correctly. This is the problem with just reading the Bible and falling in love with certain passages, and NOT studying it. Proverbs 5:18-(19) =18.......rejoice with the "wife" of your youth. =19...let her breasts satisfy you at all times....(your WIFES) breasts. Not some skirt/any other woman. YOUR Wife..."stay with her and be satisfied and fulfilled b HER." and hey, maybe you were just being funny=haha. okay, but mocking the Word of GOD and his Devine instruction, is not ONLY not smart. Its dangerous. People kill over WORDS all the time.

1 Corinthians 7:4-5 The 'wife" does not have authority over her own body, but the 'husband' does. And LIKEWISE the 'husband' does not have authority over his own body, but the 'wife' does. Do Not Deprive one another, except for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that satan does not tempt you, because of your lack of self control.

The Scripture speaks for Itsself, however i might add that the Divinity of God cannot be mocked. Men and women come together as one in union, for procreation, and intimately in the futherance of the "Strenth" of their MARRIAGE. Children are Gifts from God, wether their human counter parts are interersted. You dont have to have or even want children to be married. Why would our Good Lord deny the essential intamacies of a marriage, to those who dont, or cant have kids?

I want to applaud you who have waited, I will give you a standing ovation in fact for your courage to remain that way... I find the innocence in reading the words on this subject refreshing and reminds me of a long ago innocence I once knew but had lost, forgotten.. Reading your posts made me smile ..
I hold a higher respect for the very words of God on this subject since my relationship has been restored with Him .. in my own disobedience in the past, God now gets all the glory for renewing and restoring what I broke.. A mirical came from the ashes of the red heifer.. He gives us a crown of beauty instead of ashes. The garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair ..it matters not what everyone else says what sex is about and for.. It matters we believe What God says it is for..
Blessings

i do not think 'fun' is the word. Obviously sex designed for procreaction. = to continue our species ...

if you completely 'in love' and want to 'make love' etc & be all passionate with your hubby fair enough.

but 'fun' ..... NO. ew. thats rediculous. if we're talking casually with strangers. no.

my point is like....when its for 'fun' it sounds as though your more interested in the action rather than the person your with. Even if its a long-term partner. I just more like the idea of doing it with someone because you adore them ...not use their body for pleasure =)

anyway....what do i know eh

Jnme, Iam praying God can show you His great Love. 'It is sooo great, milady.

His Love once known, really known, will nix any meaning of Love that is not built into so much purposeful goodness for you in , going thus, living your life. :)

Sex is for the union of two to constantly be reminded of our perfect God whom we are to understand more in this union, that mere words put here do no justness to His comprehension of Love given those who do it right, for sex is from God for those who marry and, thus become oneflesh in Him :)
