As a short man (5'6" without shoes on) I can indeed tell you it does matter. Don't know how many times I've been looked at attractively, then they look and see I'm wearing boots, then get the cold shoulder. Or actually hear them making comments to one another. It hurts...If I were a six- footer my life would have been totally different. But I guess I could make some Gene Simmons boots lol!
I don't know. I think confidence counts for a lot. I didn't manage to date anyone for the first 30 years of my life and I'm rather tall. Despite my interest in many girls over those years and having asked a number of them out, nothing worked. This is probably largely because I had little confidence for much of that time. Of course most may not have been interested either way but my comment still stands. Confidence is key. Confidence in Christ that is! Besides, all of those times of rejection by girls and woman proved painful at the time but God knew something I didn't - that Arlene would enter the picture in years to come. And I'm so glad that she did!

Lynx, good on you, mate. I'm cool with that! :D

Did Arlene just call Tintin chocolate mud cake?

Tintin, your name is mud! :p

I know, I know, the troll Tintin thread is next door. But it's having an argument right now so we had to move Tintin trolling to here for a bit.
Maybe their wedding cake will be a chocolate mud cake. Did you say that they are having an argument?

Wedding cake? Ooh. :D I prefer the traditional fruit wedding cakes with the special, thick icing.

Fruit cake is traditional for weddings there? Well that beats the bland white cake they usually have here for weddings.

Angel Food cake is good. It is spongy. Especially good with sliced strawberries ladled on top with whip cream. I use Redi-Whip. Cool Whip is acceptable also if it is the extra creamy variety.

I'm an over-the-hill grandmommy and a widow now, but when I was younger I had the opposite of your problem: I was taller than a lot of guys in school and at church. I'm almost 5'10". I dated a few guys taller than me, but most of my male friends were my height or shorter. My husband was also shorter than me. I seriously wore flat shoes my whole life so I wouldn't have to keep looking down when talking to folks. LOL!! :D

Anyhow, I can tell you that my female friends and I agree, there is nothing more attractive than a man who resembles Jesus. Confident, compassionate, peaceful, strength of character, wise, joyful, wonderful to be around. :)

Hey Lynx, you call it argument? Argument takes two at least, right? I read only one.

Well, I haven't heard that it is traditional for wedding cakes to consist of some kind of fruit mixture, but then again I haven't been to that many weddings. To be completely honest, I've never been a fan of fruit cakes. Maybe you can have your thick icing and I can have my chocolate?

Or maybe we can both agree that Pipp needs to send us one of her cakes and let it be a surprise concoction of awesome?

I wouldn't say he is a mud cake. I'd say he's more like two freshly baked buns. He's some fine bakery goods.

That's like insulting the food. Sorry my brother, but I am going to take away the plates of food from right under your noses. You both can look at each other to your stomach's content while I wolf down the food. :p

I have to agree with Roh_Chris on this one. Give us the food, you two just go right on gazing into each other's eyes.

Why did God make short guys ?
Luke 19:3
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

Are you fearfully and wonderfully made ?
That can be seen different ways!

Zaqueo was greater than those who lived selfishly. He acted splendidly, not the way we can "see" Abigail's husband did, the day David asked provisions from his hands but, the other way is how he sees (or saw himself). It is my belief he cared nothing that day about his stature, except reaching Jesus, seeing Him, at least, and cared nothing to get it done: No doubt he would have climb a nearby mountain to her him talking and, that day, he was the guest in his own house. He! He!

The place where I live we're not taller than there. The average is your stature (5,5) but, no doubts I feel better this way I was pictured...

And, if i were you, I'll be glad listening their likes, their opinions and also those "jokes" you probably heard those girls say, because that's the best way to know WHAT'S IN THEIR MINDs(but actions talks louder than words).

Not to worry, Bro secularhermit! I hike all the time so my daughter's USAF basic training boots came in handy! I've worn them for years now and my feet are just dandy. (Heyyy.... I just rhymed!)
