Now let me just say up front, I am not going to argue and fight with anyone on here about this. I am posting this more for an understanding point of view for those who may not know...
This is not for the point of getting into a big debate on whether to eat these things or not...

LEVITICUS 11

11 Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them, [SUP]2 [/SUP]“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘These are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth: [SUP]3 [/SUP]Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud—that you may eat. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Nevertheless these you shall not eat among those that chew the cud or those that have cloven hooves: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; [SUP]5 [/SUP]the rock hyrax, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; [SUP]6 [/SUP]the hare, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; [SUP]7 [/SUP]and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They are unclean to you.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]‘These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers—that you may eat. [SUP]10 [/SUP]But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you. [SUP]11 [/SUP]They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales—that shall be an abomination to you.
I encourage those interested to read all of chapter 11.

Now there are some who believe that Yeshua came to die on the cross, and therefore made it possible to eat pork, and other things listed here. That is however not true.
A couple places in the NT that is used to declare these unclean foods now edible. One is when Peter had a dream to of a sheet coming down with unclean animals on them, YAH said kill and eat, Peter say, Never, I have never ate anything unclean. YAH said never call unclean what I declare clean. (Paraphrasing) What isn't brought up when someone tries to use that as an excuse to eat pork, is that the rest of the chapter goes into why YAH gave Peter that dream. It was because YAH wanted Peter to teach the gentiles, who were unclean, and YAH was saying they are made clean by Messiah. It had nothing to do with pork AT ALL.

Another verse is this;

1 Timothy 4:3-5

New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]3 [/SUP]forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; [SUP]5 [/SUP]for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Now we have to pay attention to what scripture says, verse 3 it says those who abstain from foods God created to be received- by those who believe and KNOW the truth.

Pork, crabs, shrimp, catfish etc. was NEVER called nor considered food, EVER.
These animals were all made by YAH to be the garbage disposals of the earth. They eat all the poop, trash, and all the junk that the world leaves behind.
Swine was commonly used back in history for battles. After a big bloody battle and all fellow soldiers were taken to be buried. All the body parts of the battle that couldn't be identified, they would send the swine out into the fields to eat what was left. It's gross. It is a medical fact that swine create worms and parasites in our bodies, they were NEVER meant for consumption.
Catfish, crabs, shrimp, lobster, etc. they are all the pooper scoopers of the water.

So just a few pieces of information. That YAH never considered, or called these things food. And it wasn't till the church that they started being accepted as food.

Bon appetite.

To see the spiritual connection you need to understand why the split hoof was required for an animal to be considered clean. Please research that.

One of the other things as far as swine. They don't have a sweat glands. So all the poisons that would normally sweat out of the body, get trapped and soak into the meat. Yum Yum

Its actually pretty disgusting if you think about it lol and also shows Gods love for us, we often think God is a meanie because he 'keeps' things from us, but really its because he loves us! :D He doesn't want us to eat these animals in-which he knew, he created them to clean up the dirt from the earth, but yet we are so stubborn and then contract diseases from these animals, its really sad :(

And you know and can check it out on the web that red meat is even worse for our health.

I hate to say it but you are a fighter against God.

That really saddens me.

Well I do have to wonder why, even on the ark, certain animals were deemed clean and others unclean. Even then! Apparently some difference existed there as determined by Noah.

Now wait, kardiaoangelous, I don't know about that.... red meat being even worse for us than pork (ribbing you here). I've heard we need at least a certain amount of red meat to get various imono acids and stuff. Pork? That used to have awful boatloads of worms that couldn't be killed except at certain temperatures that couldn't be produced way back when. Now, of course, we can worm pigs (obviously), as well as everything else. But there is evidence that killing animals in a kosher style also is much better for the meat (in regard to eating it). It just seems that kosher laws were given to man for health reasons, and as holds true in most anything regarding God's laws, they were given to us for our good? I imagine science just doesn't understand all the particulars involved yet. But eating healthy is a good thing, right?

It goes far deeper than that for red meats. The most recent medical discovery alone was the abundance of L-Carnitine in red meats being a chief accelerator of plaque build up in our arteries and that alone is the number one killer of men, causing most heart failures and strokes, as well as kidney failure.

It is the cattle ranchers and our greedy economic system that wants you to believe you need red meat. I have red the top most expert opinions on that subject.

Our system is so fragile that if they let the truth go unchallenged it would hurt major markets in the USA

In that case, we'd better all become vegetarians, and I ain't kidding around here. However, "too much" red meat might be the operative term, as well?

You may need to explain yourself a bit here if you are calling me a fighter against God. As for red meat, which red meat are you refering to?
Please choose your words carefully, because I have always enjoyed what you say. But if you are actually accusing me of fighting against GOD and have nothing to base that off, our conversations will end rather quickly.

I would agree with you on the point that we are better off being vegetarians, same food Adam and Eve ate :) they seemed to make it on that, and that alone

I would recommend doing a bigger study on this. Our red meat issues is because of all the gmo's and steroids etc. that MAN has added to the diets of these animals. So red meats (which YAH created for our nourishment) has gone bad because of man.

You want to eat kosher food? Fine with me. I will eat as I please and that includes pork or shrimp I don't prefer catfish though.

Please, please, please, do not say Christ died so I can eat pork? Jesus died so that we can be forgiven of sin and have eternal life. No one in their right mind would ever say such a blasphemous thing as Jesus died for food. How rude to say such a dumb thing!

Here are a few versuses you might try to understand.

Rom. 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Rom. 7:4 Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

Rom. 7:6 But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.

Col. 2:16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day —

Col. 2:17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

Now you are blowing uninformed smoke. I have researched it because of my health issues and therefore did so quite extensively. And I told you I have.

It is good you used the word "seems" as I am just saying what Paul said about those who push that Old Law in the manner he is doing.

He obviously feigns belief that, as Paul said, it violates both love and rejects the understanding of what Christ showed us for one to push that Old Law letter in that manner.

I am not judging what he eats or does not eat.

Tilapia are kosher fish and are typically raised in tanks with bass, because they will consume bass feces.

What do tilapia eat in nature? A wide variety of natural organisms, from plankton to green leaves to invertebrates to larva to… detritus. Many theories have been put forth about the tilapia’s eating habits as related to other fishes’ excretion habits. Yes, tilapia eat poop.

me personally, i am under the law of liberty, i can eat all things, if i bless it and give thanks for it. The only thing Jesus or any Apostle ever forbid us Christians to eat, was food that is sacrificed unto other Gods. And even those food we can eat, but only have to stop eating them once it is made known to us that they are sacrificed to other gods.

It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of a persons mouth.

What is Jesus to do with this generation. The Pharisees also were good about teaching things that the Word of God did not teach. Do's and Don'ts set up by men and their teachings.

i, myself follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. As all True Christians will do. Did Jesus tell me not to eat certain foods? Did Jesus tell me which foods were OK, and which ones were not OK? Did any Apostle tell me to not eat certain foods? Did they teach which food was not OK to eat?

Men teach what foods to eat and which ones not to eat. Jesus never, i will say that again NEVER told us we could not eat this, or we could eat that. Jesus Himself taught us contrary to that teaching. He said "Do not worry about what you will eat, or what you will wear, or such things like that" He also taught it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person but what comes out of the heart of a person. To eat pork, or not to eat pork, is irrelevant in the Eyes of God.

i can eat all things, in Christ. i am not under such rules as you can't eat this, or you can eat that, or such nonsense as that. I can do all things through Christ.

The sheet coming down with all the unclean animals in it, did not God say what He cleanseth call not unclean. IF then i have a piece of bacon in front of me, and i bless it in the name of Jesus Christ, and i am thankful for this food that He has provided me, How is it, He does not cleanse it? i cleansed it by blessing it, not matter what food it is. So then God cleansed it why is it still deemed unclean by others. Because they do not understand the power of God which cleanses even something that might be poisonous. The poisonous snake that bit Paul, and he should have died instantly, DID NOT DIE. How then if i eat pork, it is evil if God has cleansed it for me?

The carnal mind is concerned about what to eat and what not to eat, Those who are Spiritual, are concerned about the things of the Spirit, To say you can't eat pork, or to say you have to eat pork, is carnal.
