We all know that demons can be rebuked and exorcised.
They can also be blinded and bind
(with God's power of course)

You can hear them, feel them and sometimes see them and sometimes you can even make deals with them.
But can they be fought and destroyed? Are all demons that are exorcised still "alive"?

Demons are simply angels that fell with Lucifer and are now on the earth waiting until judgement.
One day they will face the full fury and wrath of God and be destroyed in the lake of fire. We cannot destroy them, but there will come a time when they are finally all thrown into hell.
When a demon is exorcised it is expelled from that persons life as they are covered by the power of Christ, it is not destroyed.

So only God has the power to destroy demons? What about other angels?

Two categories of angels;
Angels on God's side
Angels on Lucifer's side.

The angels on Lucifers side get destroyed, and the 'other angels' (angels on God's side) don't. They continue to do what they've been doing since they were created.

Sorry, demons can not be destroyed. They can be bound, tormented and even imprisoned.

Yes demons can be destroyed when sent to their place of judgement. Didn't Paul say that those of Christ's kingdom would judge even the angels, God's angels have no reason to be judged. ....the whole of creation yearns to be loosed from it's bondage to corruption (satanic demons), into the glorious liberty of the children of God...... there are time tables involved in these things for sure, and some believers will be given the authority to do this. Has that timeline come upon us yet? God may not want them destroyed until His people are pressed to the place and time of His choosing. So yes demons can be destroyed but not until a specific place and time for this battle. The question is, what power do we as believers have over them in the time that we are living?

The God you worship is inept, weak, and surely not in control. Your God is powerless to kill anything. He can't kill humans,(you beleive humans wander around in a spirit form never dying)...lol and now,, here you come with your never dying, always sinning angels,,, and again,, your God is powerless to destroy them....Your God is weak. He is powerless to control his own universe..

Under your thelogy,, God had to be downright stupid to create a bunch of demons that he cant get rid of...lol,,, They will always taint Gods Universe with sin... Under your thelogy,, Sin and vile behavior will always be alive in Gods Universe. Because He was too weak to destroy them.

What the hell was the reason for not letting Adam & Eve eat from the tree of life??????? Under your thelogy,, they live forever anyways! So,, really,, when you consider your ignorant theology,,, one would surely see,, it wouldnt matter if Adam & Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and then went and ate from the tree of life. Under your thelogy,, they don't die anyways!!!!!

So,,, under your theology,,,The Tree of Life must be some Godly Placebo that really does nothing even if sombody does eat from it. lol,, what a silly doctrine you have.

No. They can't be destroyed. But you can cast them out and send them someplace else. You have the power to bind Satan for a season. But i would have to explain this.

I will go with what Peter has to say in 2 Peter 2:1-9. God has not spared the fallen angels but has reserved for them chains of darkness and they will be cast into hell to be punished forever. Men who reject the goodness of God will join them because they will not receive the truth.

I would urge you to reconsider that enterprise. Acts 19:13-16

I can explain it right now.... The chain that binds Satan is symbolic,,, Chains dont bind spirits.

There will be no humans alive on the earth during the 1000 years that the Saints are in Heaven with Jesus.

Therfore, Satan has nobody to influence,, thus he is bound! Powerless!

We see in Reveltion 20:5 "But the rest of the dead did not live again until the 1000 years were finished."

Revelation 20:3 tells us Satan wont be decieving anybody during the 1000 years,,, but he will be released for a little while after the 1000 years is finished...

Jesus will return with the Saints and the Holy City Jerusalem.... At that time Jesus will ressurect the wicked once again... They were killed by the brightness of His 2nd Coming,,,and those who were alive when Jesus appeared,, have been laying dead on the earth for 1000 years.

Jeremiah was given a vision;

"The slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground." (Jeremiah 25:33)

"I beheld and, lo, there was no man." (Jeremiah 4:25)

Jesus ressurects the wicked. Being the liar that he is, Satan claims to them that he did it. And he starts his deception and influence as soon as they are raised. He then talks them into surrounding and taking the Holy City away from God and the Saints,, and ofcourse,,, he fails. Fire falls upon them and they are destroyed forever, while the Saints are safe inside the walls of the Holy City Jerusalem!

I'm not sure if in the end they will ever be destroyed by God. We don't really get enough information at this stage to say, so you're asking an impossible question. If you want to know if we can destroy them, the answer is no. If you want to know if God can destroy them, my answer: Probably? It's not our knowledge at this stage to say, but I assume that God will put out His wrath onto them and throw them into the Lake of Fire for eternity. Not so much a question of whether He can but whether he will.

Did someone pee in your Cheerios this morning?
1. God did not create demons. He created all that is good. Not evil. Angels became demons by their own will. It was not Gods doing.

2. Humans and Angels are not the same.

3. You have to be the most hateful and disrespectful person on this forum. You took one sentence of someone's. blew it out if proportion and mocked Him when it's clear you're the one without the understanding of what he said.

You can't be serious Bluecomet. God can't destroy demons? It is only us that think spirit beings cannot be destroyed by God. That is a concept created by man based on the belief in an immortal soul, another concept created by man. You have to reinterpret all the times the word "perish" and "destroy" and "die" are used in the Bible to mean physical death only not spiritual death to support this concept. Aside from that, it's perfectly ridiculous to think God can't destroy what He Himself created.

I think that's a bit extreme there Elizabeth. God did create angels. Yes, they fell by their own choice. But they didn't become something else God could no longer destroy when they rebelled. People get upset at constant mocking. Everyone in here does. I've certainly seen far more hateful posts in here. I didn't see hate in that one. I just saw frustration.

I think the constant "passive aggressive" attacks on people's character are for more malicious in nature than a direct confrontation.

Destroyed - a problem with semantics.

I think the problem here is all about semantics.

The questions is about angels being destroyed, but nobody bothered to define the word "destroyed."
This word CAN be used in different ways, so we need to decide what we're talking about.

Some are using the word "destroy" to mean things like "eternally punished", "stripped of power", or "removed from their current place and position." If this is your definition of destroy, then God is going to destroy the fallen angels (demons) according to scripture.

If you are using the word "destroy" to me "cease to exist", then it's a whole different matter. God does not, anywhere in scripture, say he is going to "uncreate" the fallen angels, or cause them the "cease to exist." According to scripture, God's plan is not to "uncreate" them, but rather to "eternally punish" them.

However, since God DID create all the angels, he certainly has the power to "uncreate" them if he wanted to. But according to the scripture, that isn't his plan.
