Name calling is not very religious nor biblical ZONE..why can you have the right to express what you believe and those who disagree with you get belittled, mouthed and rude comments and name calling? Serious!
you stopped worshiping the Lord at this time.
go away until it is over.

Angels We Have Heard On High - lyrics

Angels we have on heard high
Sweetly singing ore the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains

Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo

Come to Bethlehem and see
Christ whose birth the angels sing
Come adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord the newborn King

Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo

See him in a manger laid
Whom the choirs of angels praise
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid
While our hearts in love we raise

Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria, in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo

You know I grew up in a church that had all of the Christmas parties, Easter egg hunts, Halloween parties (to keep kids from practicing Halloween) fun and games, taping 5 dollar bills to the bottom of the bus seats (to get kids to ride the bus to church) and programs that promoted competition etc. etc. and what is tragic is that someone who is won by the above must be kept by the above and without a doubt most of the KIDS I went to church with are in the world, ungodly and probably lost. The problem was and is that they had no biblical foundations oh they had a lot of fun, yet no conversion or root to sustain them in their "Christian walk". The flip side is those won by the truth are kept by the truth!

Could not find Christmas in the Bible , but here is the definition of it from google.

Christ·mas
ˈkrisməs/
noun
noun: Christmas; plural noun: Christmases

  • 1.
the annual Christian festival celebrating Christ's birth, held on December 25 in the Western Church.

Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

If you want to celebrate christmas go ahead ,if you do not want to celebrate it i guess its alright , God did not make Dec 25 mandatory to a beliver in Christ , there no Christmans in the word of God.

  • Please do not judge one another over a festival

    God bless

Funny how mostmpeople give praise to a tree and in the book of JerimiahnGod got mad at that....Not to mention if you read about Christmas you will see itnhas nothing to do with Jesus. Just because it has Christ in it doesnt mean it has to do with Jesus. In reality its poking fun at Jesus.

Didn't judge anybody..re-read first part of post and Colossians is not talking about a Johnny come lately religious /pagan practices but rather the Jewish Holy Days and High Holy days.

Or better yet they blend truth with paganism and call it Christian.

hi IntoTheVoid,
some people get a little bit of knowledge about the Mosaic Covenant and go all fundamentally-fanatic.
that's not most of us.
Merry Christmas.

And then there are those who instead of a logical, biblical discussion like to belittle, call names and pretend they are all that and a bag of chips when it comes to truth. HAHAHA what a farce!

Don't forget how he completely evaded and ignored everything I posted back on post 180. Troll got owned, so he tried to sweep it under the rug and ignore it because he couldn't deal with what was presented, so he went back to trolling others.

I need to take a breath? I'm not the one that typed half a post in all caps in response to a couple of simple and straight-forward questions.

As for responding to what you said.

1. You're the one that said I needed to go study more because I didn't view things the way you did.

2. Ah, so you admit you don't know the exact date. Well then, if you don't know the exact date, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with picking a date (like Dec. 25th), and celebrating Jesus' birth.

3. So what? You can tell me Jesus' birth didn't happen on Dec. 25th all you want, but you continually fail to provide an alternative date to those who do celebrate the birth of Jesus. The only conclusion I can draw from this behavioral pattern is that you don't want us to celebrate the birth of Jesus at all. And the issue with that is it's strictly an anti-Christian behavior. Now, if you'd like to provide us with an alternate date to celebrate Jesus' birth, we can clear this all up, or you can just type half a post in all caps again in a huffy fit. Your choice.

4. I don't need to because I never claimed such a thing. I only claimed that it's not wrong to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Dec. 25th, just like it's not wrong for my local church to have everyone hold their communion cups up after communion and say "Long live the King." It's not strictly scriptural as you're looking for, but it not anti-scriptual either.

5. Welcome to my point.

6. That's all fine and dandy for you to be against ancient pagan practices. But just keep in mind, just because some Christians like to celebrate Christmas differently than you doesn't mean they are worshiping pagan fake gods. One can have a Christmas celebration and celebrate the one true God. One can have a Christmas tree and say that it symbolizes the everlasting life of Christ without it symbolizing pagan fake god worship. It's all about how one views the symbol. If YOU view the Christmas tree as an ancient pagan fake god worship, then by all means, YOU should stay away from it. However, that doesn't mean everyone HAS to stay away from it, because not everyone views a Christmas tree the way you do.

7. You were the one spouting off the "go and study" and "go and learn" comments just because I disagreed with you. It seems you are one having problems handling differing views.

Fun fact: Winter solstice isn't on Dec. 25th.
Yeah I know it's not the 25th and I guess I missed the scriptures that teach us to go by what we think as opposed to what God commands...Sorry I missed that one.

I think this is a parallel of moder times, the pharisees had made up their own "holy days" and laws, today we see much of the same but under a different name.

Mattithyah 15:3, "But He answered, and said to them: And why do you transgress the Laws of Yahweh by your traditions?"
