I can´t stop laughing at this part: :)

"the name iamsoandso(on their site) I found was started in an interview between them and the news back when they were in the news a lot. The news anchor ask one of them who is the head of o.w.s. they answered "oh,so and so",,the anchor ask "who is so and so?" and one of them answered "I am so and so",,then another one of them said "I am so and so", another said "I am one two",the next "I am one also",ect.ect. The anchor ask what they meant and they said "I am so and so is a young man she is a woman, she is an old man he is everyone",the short of it is that they have no leader or all of them are "anonymous",,Now I noticed from looking at their screen names(ones from the first years in the archives) there is "iamsoandso","Iamonetwo","Iamonealso",,"Ilasoamone ",ect. but that interview is why they all did that. "

Nice true story!

Before I went to live in Colombia I did my own research. I found a man who owned identical two names and surnames... When I got there, being interviewed by a police officer of the DAS, he asked me: "Do you know there´s another man here with your names?" I told him: "Yes!... The thing I´m concerned is: Would his name cause me any trouble here? I don´t know if he is a drug dealer (Etc.) so I don´t want mine be confused so I would end up in a jail or shot down". So that DAS officer laughed... :)

DAS = Dept. Adm. of Security

The one's i use to surf the web on are all just the basic os one is still vista but I find it's just faster to reformat than to correct any problems and cheaper to just purchase restoration cd's than take it to a shop.

@ Iam so "linux really needs no antivirus."

On that you said: Note to new Linux users: No antivirus needed | Linux.com

Clamv and this would serve to remove those afecting Windows OS: Free Linux Antivirus | Virus Protection | Antivirus for Linux

yes,I first realized this back when m.e. was the current o.s. with windows(they quickly changed because it would do this). I was in the garage one day working on a computer and about 3-4 minutes into it reformatting(I pushed the off button to the power strip by accident),I went huhh! and turned it back on. I didn't know if i had messed it up or not so I watched it,It took about 24hrs but it had put the back up registry on first(by default),,then (remember the m.e. o.s. would automatically run check disc in case of improper shut down?),,so since the power was shut off(improper shut down),,when it comes back on it checks for errors and repairs the partition from the back up registry.,,,,linux I think actually has no back up registry it does this same thing but by design.

I have considered changing my real name but here it is costly, so I forgot what my name could be. Hahahahah! Recently, a couple of people I met, after being circuncized, they changed their names in a Jewiesh fashion. For me sound rare, since the ID card won´t be changed that easy and my own sister has an issue with a simple letter she got misspelled in the ID card which differs from her passport.

Such is this Cuban-Zuela colony!

Poor so iamsoandsoS! I just think of THOSE who used 666, as a protest, and the mark is so evident...

Your concern I felt when there was some problems in the CC chat rooms and I noticed "my" name stuck inside one of these and I felt some stole my moniker, as it was my TM I really pocessed a right.

Yesterday I laughed at something I experiences, as a hermit "i am so and so", because a brother named Robert, told me: "Dear Sister" and obviously, secular hermit moniker has no gender, and I laughed at realizing it. Ha! Ha! :)

Am I wrong? Did you say VISTA? (Sneakers)

In Linux, Mint is my favorite. Ubuntu seem s to be ugly, though Mint is fresh as its name.

Good! Many people surf the net with the same PC they try to keep important data... It´s predictable the end result: I don´t give gold those pigs who steal...

I have heard in Aussie OLD PCs are placed in front of houses, so any man like me can get an old IDE HDD to "restore" his old PC. Here, because of the gov, it´s hard to get eide HDDs and, thanks GOD, I gave my old PCs, so now I´m using SATA HDD ( it took me $everal year$ ).

Have you tried "Canaima"? downloads here

I´m used to it, it has a recovery option but, when I went for the links for you, it downed on me they have another version (number 4) I haven´t used.

I liked ME but XP was more popular and I used it to ease the internet connection of several of my clients. Windows 7 is not that good for slow internet connections and most of the people I´ve worked for had OLD PCs, those using DDR or DDR2 RAM. Here few people are using DDR3 RAMs memories. So I´m outdated in new things international markets are offering.
I wish I had one of those solid HDDs. :)

Thankfully all HDDs can be accessed to recover data, but I have one HITACHI 80Gb Deskstar that need a controler card to get what I miss... I´m gonna get it :)

yes vista is the only o.s. I still use from Microsoft not because it is my favorite but because it's one that went with one of my computers. I was faced with changing every few years as they stopped sending updates or switch over to Linux because it was free. I've never had a machine that used win.7,8,ect. the first time I tried Linux was the freespire 1.0 (outdated now), but the newer distros seem to work well out of box. The freespire was pretty much hands on as to trying to get it online my wife wrestled with it and got it,but not me.

Where I live it is so far away from any hot spots we have to get pay per gig(no hot spots available) so how fast they are verses how fast I want to top up is the issue. What we have do is drive into town(30 mile round trip) and get downloads and jump them back and forth so the o.s.'s Ive tried were burned to c.d. after we brought them home on one device or another or ones we just bought online and had sent to us snail mail.

I went for the least complicated ones (to bridge the learning process) from Microsoft to linux but I have read some about puppy and other distros(they all seem out of my abilities for now) so Ive only gotten comfortable with Ubuntu, mint and Linux lite. The main reason is as a beginner they were something we could (out of the box) get to connect to wifi. The issue I have is most all of my computers(collected from garage sales ect.) are all either too old or not new enough(newest is 2008 and sata hdd),,the others all still had land line modems but a few of them supported wifi via usb port(all the others wont) so all of those I can still run distros on or obsolete systems(i.e. xp,m.e,98se,ect.,,,(i just don't put them online)

Now across the next few years I think I could master all the basics to linux(cant be no more difficult than getting used to one of the m.s. systems and then them changing). I read once that almost all of the third world nations where donations are sent end up getting used towers so most of them are set up with Linux (because their faced with hand me downs). Some would laugh at me that I have never played any of the games on the computer or games like atari xbox stuff(my age being the factor they are well after my time, lol),that said though so I only use the one online to come here surf the web, read research ect.

I once let the cat out of the bag that I could start with a bare bone case and build a computer( really just swapping hardware ect.) to keep my own equipment running to avoid taking it to a shop($) and so then everyone I knew began to show up with theirs for me to fix. Well as the the newer ones came out i got less and less efficient at this and again now only work on my own, lol. My wife on the other hand mostly worked out the problems with issues of virus, worms, ect. getting connected ect. So I would get one running and install a system she experimented with the million things you can download,so she got better at the programing issues than me.

I really just wanted a system, any system that I could install and run until there was an issue and then instead of trying to solve the issue just go to bios boot from cd and reformat(just seems to be the simplest path at times) than trying to figure out what happened or if it was hacked. Now other than that I have a roomba irobot, seems to run r.o.s. or some form of l.i.s.p. linux based o.s. and so i find myself now beginning to tinker with that and would really like to get better with a very small o.s. like that because of the drones ect. running simular o.s. Amazon.com: Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Elite Edition Quadricopter - Wifi - Free App iOS & Android - Record HD 720p movies - Jungle: MP3 Players & Accessories these all run some type of o.s. of the same nature as linux, android ect.

Don´t laugh! But, what´s your name, Mr Linux?

Hahahah! :)

Here is another LINUX I liked : ZORIN 6.4 (CORE or Lite, Feb 2014). (i686)

I also don´t have hot spots (I´m afraid you are another hermit). Ha! Ha!

I wish I could tried those you´ve mentioned (I will copy that post). I´m bored of Windows problems and here, I don´t have to bother too much with the license. The day my sister wanted to get window 8 she was asked to pay $200 and her newbrand laptop cost $400, so I said: "Why not buying another (@ 400) instead of giving MS $200? HA! HA!

Someone else did the trick to avoid that license. That´s why I like Linux.

lol,me too! I was reading about the canaima Canaima (operating system) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia you mentioned (first time i saw it) most of the lit. is in Spanish but the same issue with connecting to the wifi as with the others tho I might try it I found it from some other sources(I'm still reading the reviews) ,,,and no other than linux lite, linux mint, and ubuntu the others are "still above my head",lol,,,the o.s. "perfect puppy" is really for someone who is very comfortable with Linux(not me) it's not so out of the box becouse you need to do quite a bit to tailor it to choice. the others freespire has a 2.0. but i didnt like it(still too complicated),,,the others "r.o.s. and l.i.s.p." are not for home computers they are for robotics, drivers ect.(I just mentioned them because my hobbies took me to them,i.e. r.c.)

I have found this as useful:

The network installer lets you install Ubuntu over the network. This is useful, for example, if you have an old machine with a non-bootable CD-ROM or a computer that can’t run the graphical interface-based installer, either because they don’t meet the minimum requirements for the live CD/DVD or because they require extra configuration before the graphical desktop can be used, or if you want to install Ubuntu on a large number of computers at once.

Just a log. Today I was given the HHd I needed. It s a DESKSTAR HITACHI, 82.3 Gb made on Abril 2006.

Hope this serves me to the recovery of data of my older one.

Thanks GOD and my sister s husband.
