When God puts His Spirit in you, you will most certainly know it and feel it.

My impression is that there are cases you won’t realized it and other cases where you would know! for sure.

When Jesus came to the disciples in the upper room He breathed on them and said receive ye the Holy Spirit. At Pentecost the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit appeared as a cloven tongue of fire upon their heads.

We receive the Holy Spirit the moment we receive Christ as our Savior. Best way to describe it is a feeling of peace and relief. Peace knowing we are no longer under Gods condemnation for our sins and relief knowing that we are saved forever by Gods grace.

Many fillings of the Holy Spirit are simply being able to do things that you would not have done before. For example witnessing to another soul about Christ. Having the presence of mind to speak a biblical answer to a difficult question. Wanting to help someone you do not know because you perceive a need in that person.

For the cause of Christ

I've been confused for quite some time. I'm not sure if I've been filled, or if I haven't been filled. I'm also just rather curious to hear what it's like, and hearing everyone's descriptions. Please describe it the BEST you can.
Also, if the changes in you after the encounter took some time to happen, or if it happened right after? I also always question if I have the Holy Spirit or not, because, well, I've always had a short temper. I still do. So, that really discourages me as to wether or not I have the Holy Spirit. . .

Thanks for hearing me out, and to anyone that answers, thank you.
If you have prayed to receive Him then He's in there, but He will not impose Himself, He can not abide woeful sin, He is after all a part of the God head, that Jesus left on earth, If sin is near conviction is never far away, a callous word may be all that is needed for the Holy Spirit to make known that something has to be done or said.
Jesus said "those who have an ear, to hear", if you are having trouble trying to choose between two points of view, If someone is doing something because they sat they felt led and you can't see how they could be led by the nose on a dark night with a ten foot chain, then, even in a state frustration close your eyes, ask God to fulfill his promise to you, of, "The spirit will take of what is mine and make it known to you". I guarantee you will not be left confused, but listen with your heart and the Spirit will let you know so that, you will know that you know. and you will be at peace.
Lots of people have different experiences when being filled with the Spirit and there is also a difference between having the Spirit and being filled with the Spirit, But He will let you know that Himself.
Lift your arms high and exclaim "Jesus" at the top of you voice, and keep repeating it for 30 seconds with some gusto, and I also guarantee you will feel the Spirit within you rejoice.
God bless.

Deep peace like a river
profound love like a marriage
great trust like father sitting at your bed holding hand
but uts not the feeling
the mind opens into infinity and you can bring up any memory from any time and any place all at once
its like sudden eidetic memory
a way higher level of being
any passage from the Bible, any name, any sotry is right there all at once.
It is not human

this is the mind of christ.

I have only had this happen on Sabbath days and sometimes very long time.
getting longer each time

it is impossible to bring to mind anything bad,
and of course you dont even try
it just doesnt happen

it is way way beter than crack cocaine, and after this I never touched cocaine again.
and in this state you cannot sin.

this is our state we must be in to survive the plagues, we strive for it daily and to stay in it.
it comes only by prayer.

There is no loud noises that is satanic
ther is no jabbering that is demonic
it is a still small infinite presence of quiet and peace, again on the Sabbath on friday evenings in evening by self when you finish saying
I love you Jesus or something nice to him it happens
it is so deep

the song that best comes close is the song

WHen peace like a river comes

that is exact representaion of it
fanny crosby had the experience
she knew
but the song just touches it
to be there is magnituteds more progound
and you know it is from God
for Bible verses all come in waves and floods and all at the same time
it is the mind of christ.
Praise God only I can do nothing.

If you are not getting floods of Bible verses you arent there yet.

The false spirit nevr gives Bible verses correctly if he does it is one and out of context,
so you know it isnt satan when you get the WHOLE BIBLE AT ONCE in your mind
literally
you see the whole thing all at once
its nice.

Everyone who has been water baptised and has given their whole heart and mind to Jesus has experienced it, for a moment but I thinking back had it when I was 13 but just thought I felt good and clean and pure
I was not LISTENING for the spirit nor thinking of the Bible the people around me were congratulating me and distracting and I never realized it that I had the real thing until just now

it is important when baptised to leave the person alone to enjoy the deep communion
like Jesus when he prayed on the shore
no one ran up hugged and congratulated him
he went right into prayer

God wants us aLL to have this experience this is his gift
being a new creation anew creature in Jesus peace

and

I can ask for this anytime,
you have to be at peace with everyone, confess all faults, make every thing right and as you go into the Sabbath in the evening Just think how you are with Jesus and keep telling him how absolutely lovely he is

you will have it
this is the number one thing he wants to give to you
the born again sabbath relationship of christs mind in you

that is his infinite gift

thats what he lives for

and we are so distracted I dont do it every week
Im sorry Jesus
this week I wil be waiting.

you all have time to get baptised before Sabbath and go for it.
what would be awesome would be to be baptised right on friday as sun goes down and then go into your room and spend the night with Jesus
wonderful
thats what I should have done.

anyway
its real
its for you
if you are serious then Jesus is serious,\
and read your Bible

you cant have things come to mind much if you havent read them

just read the whole thing this month
easy.

Verse please!!! No where does scripture say test your feelings to know that you are in the truth.
First John dosent say I write these things that you may feel, he says know!
Are you going to lay some Asseblies of God nonsense on this person and be so bold as to say they are not saved because they havent spoken in tounges?
Uummm.......That's not AOG doctrine..... You're quick to judge something you don't know anything about.

James 1:19 (KJV) [SUP]19 [/SUP]Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

James 1:19 (KJV) [SUP]19 [/SUP]Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
At one time it was, and it was accross the board, now some of the churches (maybe 50%) no longer state that out right, but some still do. It is not on their website.
Many still teach, that speaking in tounges was evidence of salvation.

this sounds like lies and snake oil
Proverbs 17:28 (KJV) [SUP]28 [/SUP]Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

Unsureness is of itself a dead giveaway. If & when you receive it, you'll know.:)

A word of advice: Don't seek it simply for the feeling, for this is sinful.

James 4:3 (KJV) [SUP]3 [/SUP]Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

So many have been guilty thru the years for seeking for the baptism of the Holy Spirit because everybody else had it, or others told them to do it without explanation of its true purpose, or, worse yet, they wanted to be superior to others. God doesn't honor such motives.

Matthew 6:33 (KJV) [SUP]33 [/SUP]But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

that's rich, considering you're using God's own words to do the same thing.

jesus juke, much?
Proverbs 10:31-32 (NLT) [SUP]31 [/SUP]The mouth of the godly person gives wise advice, but the tongue that deceives will be cut off. [SUP]32 [/SUP]The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words.

Just answering the OP....

That which is born of the spirit is by it's very nature SPIRITUAL...
That which is born of the flesh is by it's very nature FLESHLY....

Now, having said that.....Paul told the church at Ephesus to be continually filled with the spirit and he uses a present, passive, imperative form of the verb which shows and sets forth the following...

a. shows a continual mode of action
b. The passive aspect shows and sets forth (what) has caused them to be CONTINUALLY filled

Verses 19-20 set forth the evidence of being continually filled and are know as subordinate clauses...
1. Speaking to yourselves in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs
2. Singing and making melody to the Lord in your mind
3. Giving thanks always for all things unto God dia Jesus
4. submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God

It is not about how it feels, yea, but rather it is about what you are doing...the above is the EVIDENCE of being CONTINUALLY FILLED with the SPIRIT....
