By the way, I just want to say that I love every one of you in here even though you've pounced on me and some of you have been just downright mean.

I haven't avoided anything and you know it. I've used the slavery comparison to point out the hypocrisy in here. There are slaves throughout the bible but we did away with that somehow. Conversely, homosexuality is only mentioned a couple of times but I'm being hung on the cross (no pun intended). Maybe my pastor recognizes that it's wrong to condemn homosexuals (who God created) just like it was wrong to have slaves.
Slavery is not condoned in the Bible.
God only gave rules to regulate and ensure people were not cruel. It was a way of life back then. There were financial institutions, no government assistance, no way to declare bankruptcy etc... Life was rougher back then. Many people would put them selves and their children into servitude just to survive. When war broke out, what option would you prefer? Servitude or being slaughtered? God ordered the release of slaves every 7 and 50 years. If a servant desired to stay with their master at that time because the life was good for them, they could choose to stay

Bingo what? You've just unraveled your whole argument. We are EXACTLY the same.

exactly.

we are both worthy of death, workers of death, putrid in our boasting, rotting in our pride; worms, not men, in utter need of redemption, having no good of our own.

the prize is Christ - He wins - we must crucify ourselves with Him to attain a portion of the earning - He is that portion, that crown. you and i can never "own" it.

You do realize that it wasn't that long ago right? It's not as if they only had slaves back in the Biblical days. Your argument is weak.

You've used slavery to avoid my question, and you know it. Yes homosexuality is mentioned a couple times in the Bible and none of them say you were born gay, that its ok to be gay,or that God created you gay.You know that to be the truth. No one is hanging you on a cross. You are not being honest with yourself or us.You know full well what the Bible says about homosexuality. What your pastor believes is wrong. And it doesn't matter what pastors believe,it matters what the Bible says. And your pastor is playing you false if she is telling you you can practice homosexuality and go to heaven. She is lying to you.And if she loved you and cared about your soul she would tell you the truth. You avoided my question because you knw the truth and you know what the Bible says.If you want to be who you are you are free to do so.But do not come in here with lies and false teaching and expect that no one will call you on it.

Alright then. What is it that you have a problem with? Regarding us both being sinners and exactly the same.

will you be a slave of the Master, or a slave of your sex drive?
of our Savior, or of your pride?

I have not lied at all. I was born gay. People are saying that I'm lying. I'm not.

You're getting a bit off topic there Lancelot. We're not talking about sex drive. I simply said I was born gay and the whole room told me I was lying.

"
if there is a problem, yo, He'll solve it."

if you hate The Solution, He won't help you much. He will show you mercy by giving you over to that death that you love.

i hate lies.

I am talking about the slavery in ancient days for the nation of Israel. The people who God gave the laws to.
Obviously many different cultures and nations have taken slaves and been enslaved. The other cultures did not have the Bible to regulate their cruelty so it was much worse. The slavery that existed in America was not based off the Bible but off sinful men. Nor did American slaveholders abide by the rules God gave Israel. They did not care what God said. Because if they did, they would not do that to their fellow man. Those who follow Christ and are born again are called to love all people. Anyone who does not love people is not a Christian.

Even Israel was taken into slavery numerous times by numerous peoples for their rebellion against God.

so . . homosexuality has nothing to do with sex drive? i doubt.

everyone is a slave.
whether to sin or to righteousness.

there is no "bring back" here, Aristotle.

No,in fact I think instead that you are very deluded. Why would God create people to be gay and then call homosexuality a perversion that would send a person to hell? Can you tell me that? Yes God created you,He loves you but He does not condone homosexuality. Im sorry there is just no getting around that fact.

Same guy who said people only lust, not love? You convinced he's just a troll yet?

Not to mention i never once stated he was lying about being born gay. Yet here he is pointing fingers at the whole room. In fact, my argument clearly stated we are all born sinful, and homosexuals don't get to justify their sins anymore than any other sinner. My arguments leaves room for the chance that people may be born gay. But if he were to acknowledge that he'd not be able to troll.

My point stands. The justification for Christians not banning slavery long before they did was because of the Bible. It doesn't matter that they weren't right for doing so. That was still their justification, just like the Bible is their justification to reject homosexuals, regardless of whether or not God created them.
