Emotional intelligence

Some talk a point, whatever that is provocative, and continually respond not to discuss but to provoke.
The reality is they are addicted to creating this emotional situation. If the community find a person keeps behaving in a particular way, that is probably because they actually do, and it is nothing to do with theology.

I would suggest Jason is such a person, and does not care how other people feel, his feelings are much more important.
Not true. I will be praying for you.

I am flabbergasted. I must be a real ditz because I don't understand why so many are coming down hard on Sirk for stating what is on his heart, and in a light-hearted way to boot. When I first read his op I chuckled and was about to move onto another thread... then I started reading the comments. I was like... WHUT?!?

What's wrong with this picture? Sirk is coming against hypocrisy & religious dogma. What's wrong with that? I really couldn't follow everything on this thread because I have a few on ignore due to their being mean-spirited. But really, I'm sitting here going, "HUH????" as I haven't known Sirk to be mean-spirited or contentious and I don't understand why he's being chastised and Jason is being defended.

yeah...well....I don't want to tippy toe around either afraid to offend those who take delight in offending

I think I may have been too quick to take a slap on the writst for my 'name calling'...way back...but I do support trying to
tone things down

There is absolutely no use whatsoever in embracing those who deviate from the only plan God has regarding salvation...they make the plan of salvation more like slaveation

I may just reroute how I express myself some...I used the expression 'bait biters' so as to avoid using a name but either way I guess

The point being that, while I did not actually see this thread as 'bait', it was and prob still is, taken as such...an invitation to insult or tit for tat

I don't see it that way, but I think it could hardly be passed up by some as evidenced almost from the start

So, 'kittens' aside, it sure should never have been an excuse to lay one on sirk...and I saw that too...and that riled me up some...it's like that song...kick em when their up...kick em when their down

we can, in the end, only monitor our very own leetle selfies...but I think people reveal themself in how they respond and answer..including me

Why do christians spend so much time on this site arguing, I don't get it, we all are supposed to belong to the same body of Christ. Jason has always been polite with me, never hateful and has always answered my questions with love and humility whenever I've asked them, to create a thread like this is a form of bullying in a sense and bears no fruit. The word fellowship is in the name of this website but mainly alls I see is divisions and cliques of people who gang up when they feel offended by someone's comment or thread. We are supposed to be brothers and sisters in Christ. I have no loyalty or bias to anybody on this site so I just comment I see and what I see isn't people who are Christ like, it's basically like a school playground but full of so called adults not children. If people feel as though Jason's interpretation of scripture is wrong then do you think God would want you basically mocking him, just rebuke him politely and carry on with your day. Christians should concentrate on growing their fruits and loving and uplifting each other, not argueing. We all pray to the same God, read the same bible and are saved through the same grace and the wonderful act which Jesus did for us on the cross. I'm not trying to join in this arguement or even stick up for Jason, I just comment as i see. Peace be with you all.
The problem is the doctrine that a few spout on here...salvation based works

That, and the two of them that support Jason

Jason himself remains on the edge of polite ... his two comrades are insulting and one is just plain nasty

Me? I have all 3 on ignore. There are plenty of people to get along with here.

However, having been on several Christian forums, there are always a handful that seem to walk around with a Bible in one hand and a pitchfork in the other

You can determine who those folk are for yourself

It's time to cool off and remember that not once did Jesus cry or moan or defend himself on the way to the cross. In fact scripture says he didn't make a sound as he was being whipped and bloodied.

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

Yes, and this very much speaks to the point that those with eyes to see, and ears to hear, recognize truth, understand the things of God. With exception of the very young in Christ, who are at a formative stage of learning, it's evident the mature in Christ aren't deceived. And even those young will come around, by the Holy Spirit, will learn who to listen to, and who not to, by the very power of God.

So truth stands on its own, when all is said and done. Some go to a lot of effort, to accomplish nothing, these Lone Ranger "theologies" of doubt, narcissistic condemnation and accusation something that will remain lonely.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

I see this thread soon coming to a close. There is no point in further argument. Not every personality gets along. We have doctrinal differences also.If we cant agree to disagree we need to move on. All that can be said has been said here and I hope a mod soon shuts this down.Point has been made, time to cool it down.JMO
I think there is still some mileage to be gotten from this thread. God uses all things for good.
