Don't be deceived by someone telling you that you don't deserve salvation because you can't keep the law that Jesus taught.

Because the law that was required of you went to Jesus in order to save you. The lie is that you still need to follow the way of the law to be saved.

Believing on Jesus as your savior means exactly as it sounds. Jesus is your savior. Meaning the only requirement to salvation is faith in God. In this way, everyone has equal opportunity, everyone can receive salvation, everyone can know God's immense love.

That is why "I am the way, the truth, and the life" stands true forever.
Amen.
Romans 7:14
King James Version(KJV)

Let me, again, clarify, for teh part of all. It is good to obey Jesus Christ and His teaching for He only is the Teacher, Rabboni.

To need to justify oneself against this truth I share demonstrates a lack of belief of Jesus Christ and it should be remedied by study of His teaching, and adherence to His taching, that constitutes being an obedient child of God.

Learn of God, it is written that we are taught of God. Paul teaches the same, for His Teacher is Jesus Christ.

It is always easiest to read, study and meditate on the actual words of Christ teaching in the four Godpels of the Word. If it helps, read a red letter version.
Amen! If you believe in Jesus then read the bible. Always hear and hear the word of God. Faith comes from hearing and hearing the word. Look for Jesus and God's love for you in the Word.

The gospel, first given to Abraham, is given to all by our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the first four books of what is called the New Testament.

As for reading the Word, I have been reading the Word since long before you were born, and I continue, for we are taught by God to study His Word.

I have posted here from knowledge of theWord on the subject of the thread and in response to some mindless allegations.

Again I say, learn from Jesus Christ His Gospel, for this is all that is necessary for Salvation, but learning from the Master means believing Him, and believing Him entails obeying Him which many here teach agains.

Spend more of your time on the subject and less of your time on prefabrications about what I have read and what I have meditated upon........God bless you.

Romans 16:25

"Now to Him who is able to establish you in accordance with my Gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past"

Galatians 1:11-12

"I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the Gospel I preached is not of human origin. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ."

1. No I do not. The definition of grace is titus 3: 5.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but BY HIS MERCY.

Grace is gods mercy, it is how we are saved, Not by works (all the things in Titus 2) but by Gods mercy,

He washed us

He gave us new birth (regeneration)

2. Since Gods grace has saved us (past tense) all the things spoken of in Titus 2 (the result of being saved) Ephesians 1 (all the blessings God has given us) and other things, are now possible.
Appreciate your reply here EG. Forgive the length but I hope to show why God's grace is not God's mercy. God's mercy is God's mercy. While God's grace is God's grace.

Luke 2:40
40 And [Christ] grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Why would Christ need God's mercy? Was he a bad child? No, grace can't be mercy.

This is the root issue I think we have in the church today. At some point in Church history we've incorrectly blended Grace and Mercy together. God gives mercy to anyone he want, good or evil. It doesn't matter what that person does.

Matthew 5:44-45
44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Romans 9:13-15
13 So it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Absolutely not!

15 For He says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion

But if God's Grace is his mercy, then the passages above contradict Ephesians 2:6 that say grace is given through faith in Christ (a condition that must be met). It also contradicts Galatians 5:4 that say one can fall away from grace if they try to justify themselves with the law.

Again if grace is God's mercy (which is an "unconditional" and "undeserving" pardoning/favoring so to speak), then there's nothing we can do to receive it OR lose it. Unconditional mean "no condition required either way". One doesn't need faith in Christ, and one can try to justify themselves all they want. In fact, those who try to justify themselves DEFINITELY don't deserve Grace, so it should be given to them EVEN MORE SO if grace means mercy, right? So do you see why God's grace can't be his mercy?

Now because of God's great mercy, Christ was sent to minister Grace and Truth to us (for God so loved the world). But if we misunderstand grace to simply be God's mercy we miss the point of what Christ ministered.

Paul defines grace again in 2 Corinthians...

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

9 And [the Lord] said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

If we replace the word grace with mercy the passage no longer makes sense because the passage interprets itself several times. So 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 says Grace is God's divine power; his strength...but strength to do what?

Titus 2:11-14
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

This passage says we're taught by grace to live godly and righteously and to be sober (i.e. with SELF-CONTROL).

So Christ taught how to live godly and righteously (truth), and ministered God's divine power (grace) to do so.

Read the title of the OP. Now what does Jesus Christ teach? Misinterpreting what Paul has written in his episstles is not expressing one iota of what is taught by our Teacher.

Paul's Teacher is the same, Jesus Christ............ Shame.

Pauls writings are the teachings of Jesus Christ. Misinterpreting those written narratives is not expressing one iota of what is taught by Jesus Christ through the Apostle Paul.

Those who are under law... Well :) sucks to be them cause we are under grace. Jesus brought the "law" of love, he gave us illustrations to show and teach us about love. I believe personally my entire life's purpose can be summed up in this: learn to love . God is love. There is no end to the depths of love.

the law made for the lawbreakers but against good things such as gentleness and kindness and generosity, there is no law. All done in pure and holy love in Christ is legal :) you are allowed to love as much as you want!

Thats is what I feel Jesus taught . "A new commendment I give to you: love one another as I have loved you"
the simplication of all laws, the fullness of the Old Testament law was summed up in love. Love God, love your neighbor .

theres no speed limit when it comes to love :) and I like to drive fast !
I say rather than there being a simplification of laws, the standard or expectation placed on us was increased. For instance, it is written "thou shall not go faster than 65mph (104 kph)" on a certain stretch of road. But love says "you'll consider ALL other drivers on *every* road you're on and drive slower to keep everyone safe" thus there is no external speed limit on you anymore because out of love a speed limit is written inside your heart. This is what the OP is drawing attention to.

Consider the comparisons:

- Under the law "thou shall not kill", but under Grace and Truth Christ said, "to simply have anger/hate in your heart for another" is sin.

- Under the law "thou shall not commit adultery", but under Grace and Truth, Christ said "to merely look upon another with lust in your heart" is sin.

Are these changes or reduction of these laws, or are they elevations of their expectations; bringing obedience to God to a higher standard as a "heart" issue?

So under the ministration Christ's Grace and Truth one is expected to be even MORE SO perfect in heart and obedient to God than those who were under the law. Now such perfection of heart may seem impossible to accomplish, but that's exactly why we were given God's grace, which is his divine empowerment through Christ...we just have to use it.

2 Corinthians 6:1
As God's co-workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain.

I too think that God's mercy and grace are different however they are so closely related to each other - like twins of some sort.

They are manifestations of the love of God for us. God is love and all the attributes of Him flow from His nature which is love - this includes mercy, justice and wrath.

1 Timothy 1:2 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 4:16 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Ephesians 2:4-7 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

[SUP]5 [/SUP] even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

[SUP]6 [/SUP] and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that in the ages to come
He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

God gives us grace at the revelation of Jesus Christ. He does not give us grace to "keep the law".

Rather grace enables us to live and feed on the life of Christ that is in us in our new creation - of which He has made us partakers of His life, joined us to Christ as one spirit. sealing us and filling us with His mighty Holy Spirit.

Any good works that flow from us as a result of this is simply a fruit of the Spirit inside of us manifesting His life and good works in and through us. So, really we have nothing to boast about.

1 Peter 1:13
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

I love the truth of how Jesus lived. He was born under to the law, He ministered to those that were under the law so that He could redeem them from being under the law.

Galatians 4:4-5 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,

[SUP]5 [/SUP] so that He might redeem those who were under the Law,that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Christians - have nothing to do with the law of Moses now - other than to see Christ in them as He has fulfilled the law. We are now sons/daughters of God and live by His life that is in us now.

Jesus said that He lived by the Father inside of Him. He said that it is the Father inside Him who is doing His works - not Jesus. He could do nothing of His own initiative.

As Jesus lived by the life of the Father in Him - with total dependence on His life - so we too live by the life of Christ inside of us manifesting His life as a fruit of our union as one spirit with Christ. We too can do nothing without Christ.

We live now from the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus, the law of love, the law of liberty in Christ, the law of faith ( the law is NOT of faith ) , the law of Christ Himself.

These laws of Christ Himself will manifest His life in and through us and we will not need to "obey" an external law as in Lev. 18:23 to not have sex with animals. The life of Christ will keep us from doing that. We can trust Him inside of us who is our life.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you,can a person that hasn't been born of the Spirit of GOD be obedient enough that GOD will accept them?

Are you saying,a person has to be obedient with their own will before GOD will save them or are you saying,a person has to be obedient to faith/believe the word of GOD?
no, if a person rejects Jesus, they can obey the mosaic law to the letter and they still will not be born again, a person who rejects the gospel cant be born again, because the spirit comes through believing what Jesus said, that is what all of the apostles taught, the gospel, everything Jesus taught them, He then commanded them to go teach all nations to learn and obey His gospel ministry.

with Jesus gospel it is different from the law the law is regulations for earthly Life, blessings for earthly Life, rules for earthly worship ect......in the gospel, we are called to put whatever belongs to our earthly nature to death through the gospel. Our sinful thoughts, actions, desires that are contrary to what is good and right. the gospel is not calling sinners, but it calls " sinners to repentance" repentance is not just changing the mind, but changing the mind and applying it to actions, choices. a simple fact of this that really cant be argued just this point : If Jesus taught a lesson, it is the best wisdom man can ever know, it is Gods own word of the new covenant, Just like He gave His words for the first covenant to the people through moses, the mediator between man and God in the old testament. The Law came through moses it was Gods own Word, spoken to moses, then moses told the people, THEN moses told the people to obey Gods commandments, THEN there was shedding of blood to put the covenant into effect. the covenant came this way

God delivered the hebrews from slavery, because He promised abraham that He would, and because God is faithful to His word, and full of Love and compassion for His people. Then the hebrews were led into the desert, sustained by God through miracles, Then they were Given the Law, told to obey the Law, then those who refused to repent and obey the Law, were destroyed by Gods word that said " the wages of sin, is death.

the gospel came this way

God promised the messiah , the great prophet would come to the isrealites first, and then they would spread Gods Kingdom to all nations on earth. The isrealites were afraid of God he was lightning storms thunder, pillars of fire, His power displayed to man, when they approached Him they were destroyed, they were so afraid they were afriad of His word they asked moses to ask God to stop speaking to them it was fear based, because God is power and might. In response to this, God promised to "raise up a prophet Like moses from among thier own people, a brother, who God would speak through ( Jesus) the messiah, the promised annointed One of God, the only One, the Only name that really matters. God made it really clear, and then in acts, peter and paul both make it super clear that Jesus IS this prophet and the promised messiah, His IS the one all the prophets and Law testified to, He is the complete Son of the Only God, the source of All of creation is Jesus and His powerful word that sustains creation.

the real point to me is that Jesus Christs Words are identified throughout the n.t. as Life for Christians, peter, John, paul all clearly make the statements that anyone who deviates from Jesus teachings and doctrine are not to be believed clear statements that Jesus ministry is Christianity. there is no reason to think im saying obedience saves, im saying because Believe the teachings of Jesus if a person studies Jesus words, they will themselves see the clear message i saved you even when you were a sinner because i Love you, Now go live the way I taught you to Live Learn from Me i am Humble, my yoke is easy, my burden Lightm Just believe in me, hear my words, believe my words, trust my words , put yopur heart into Living the way i taught you, because I Loved you already i layed down my Life to show my Love...Now I , Jesus am, telling you " Love me and obey my teachings, my teachings teach YOU how to treat other people How to Love your neighboe as yourself. He is identified in the n.t. as The Son of God, the Light of the gentiles, The Savior of the whole world, the Lord of Heaven and earth, the Messiah, the first and Last, the WORD of God the apostle and High priest, the King of Kings and Lord of lords. Im saying any christian who believes Jesus died for thier sin, is supposed to then Live for Jesus. just Like the bible teaches.

Jesus " neither do i condemn you now go and leave your life of sin."

Paul you are saved by grace through faith, created in Jesus Christ TO DO GOOD WORKS, prepared for you to do."

Paul " it is by Grace you have been saved.....if you live to please the flesh you will die, BUT if by the spirit you put to death the MISDEEDS of the body, you will live."

Bieng saved by Grace and given the spirit by faith, is not the end it is like a seed entrusted to us, we then actually are supposed to put our own heart into learning Jesus gospel, and living it to Honor the price He paid. these things are what the bible actually teaches. it doesnt teach the things like the gog " dont work or your trying to save yourself...your already finished in christ, dont let anything make you feel guilty, convicted, because your the righteousness of Christ, just believe but dont make effort dont actually learn and follow Jesus thats " mosaic law he taught".....when people stray from scripture and create new ideas that arent taught throughout the scriptures, its a false doctrine begining to root in a persons mind. the things in the 4 gospels are witnesses to the world of Jesus eternal Ministry that Brings Life through faith in Jesus, the kind of faith that doesnt Just say " Lord, Lord" but actuially hears Jesus and does the things He teaches, Hes a teacher to us, he teaches so many amazing things that He learned from His Father ( His own words btw) things He saw in Heaven He spoke and taught the world first the jews and then commanding them to go teach those same things to all the world. these are the things taught in scripture. if Grace doesnt lead to repentance, then spmeone hasnt really accepted Jesus suffering and death for thier sin. repentance is the first step, and then we walk in that confession of repentance because its from the heart, we stumble, fall....but we get up and hold to repentance to pressing forward, Jesus is perfect, we arent....BUT we ARE COMMANDED to Learn His gospel and follow His words with our heart, our effort , our commitment.....again we stumble, and there id grace to lift us up but still we fight, we run the race, we bear one anothers burdens, we do the very thingsa JESUS says to actually do. hes really teaching Love as God Himself sees it

Romans 7:14
King James Version(KJV)

14.)For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

what about Jesus being the Lord, apostle, High priest, word of God, prophet, what about things like this that YOUR SAVIOR said

matthew 7:15-27 "15“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’24“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

you guys seem to just want a savior and the same time deny what that savior said clearly. what is CLEARLY WITHOUT A DOUBT NOT LAW. what makes you guys think that Jesus taught the mosaic law lol? when the things Jesus taught are the opposite of it? the gospel is not law, and there is no such thing as a lawless grace that saves anyone. if you guys want the result of no law. look to the flood. there was no law and in 10 generations " every though and inclination of mans heart was only evil all the time, and God was then Grieved that He even made man, man had become inherantly evil. thinking and doing evil all the time. this is scripture. without Gods wisdom that is His commandments, man is dead. without the words of Jesus Christ, manking cannot receive the holy spirit. iy only comes through faith in Jesus, through knowledge of Jesus. its always strange to me that in a bdf you guys see the many clear scriptures like in the op, ignore them completely offer no scriptures saying or even suggesting that the teachings of Jesus are Law then in the epistles you guys omit everything paul says about repentance and opbedience because your saved by Grace, and that if a person doesnt repent and follow Gods word they will not inherit eternal Life.......and then champion a doctrine that assumes a scripture from romans seven somehow makes all else null and void. anyone who omits Jesus based on the lie that He taught Law, is headed down the wrong road and omitting the truth taught by the Lord. people need to stick to what the bible teaches, and it 100 percent "doesnt teach lawless, conditionless, eternal security whether a person repenta and obeys God or not" thats the word of the enemy, God will never teach us to not follow Jesus thats a fact. you all can forever make up omissions but its not in accordance with Gods spirit to work to omit the gospel. for a revolutionized doctrine that omits the only real doctrine, but to each His own

20.)Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

21.)And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

If we do as Jesus teaches, you are absolutly correct. When I first came to be convinced of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit, I realized aperson could get the Gospel from a Betty Crocker Cookbook, were it kGod's will, yes.

As for the law and the great point of the three given by our Mastser, that is mercy, we too have authority t some degree in forgiving sins in that we are commanded to show mercy to all. Nos this is not the final authority but it is the authority to live paitence and long-suffering with others forgiving their trespasses in generañ of tjeu asl amd abiding i faith the Lord will do the rest. Faith is all. I pray this makes sense to you...if not I will elaborate for you. You are quite the teacher it sems, please stay around in faith.
it does make good sense. Jesus teachings arent like the law in many ways , one way is the law has specific rules and regulations detailed sexual immorality for instance there are lists of specific things not to do. the gospel deals with ALL ofthose specific rules when a person learns Jesus teaching about Lust, and does what He teaches us to do. we have the power through faith, and faith comes through the message presented by the Lord Jesus Christ, who is our redeemer. our savior as well, our apostle as well, our high priest as well...all of the law and prophets and the epistles are testimonies of Jesus, Jesus Christ is all He is fully sufficient in deed, word, and Truth, Grace and anything we need for Life in Gods Kingdom. the 4 gospels are Life as we learn and have faith in Jesus through believing His WORD. repentance, obedience, good deeds are a fruit of true faith. a good tree will bear good fruit. if we are " nw creationbs created in Chriust Jesus to do good works" then we will do those good works with gracious hearts. Gods will is not a secret, He details it throughout His word. even the law teaches man how to Love if we love someone dont kill, dont steal from them, dont lie to those you Love, if we really believe in God, why would we have another God before Him? if we Love God, if we truly believe in God as the Bible teaches He is.......we will repent and live better as we learn true doctrine rather than man made herecies like " the gospel of sowing financial seeds in my ministry will bring you blessing" or the gospel of grace that omits What Gods word actually says, in favor of lawless grace, or " grace with no rule, no law. " or even things like universalism..there is no end to the importance of christians to spend time in thier own bible quietly prayerfully learning about thier Lord and savior, learning about His ministry, his teachings, what He really taught His followers........Know Jesus, Know Life. the only real value i have to tell anyone is to go to the written word of God the books of matthew, mark, Luke and John. those are the ministry, Life and death , resurrection and ascention to heaven, mniracles everything man knows about the savior we all claim, everything we know about the Lord Jesus coming to earth, teaching man the words of God....is found in those 4 books all of scripture is awesome, those 4 are the foundation for every true belief for a christian

The 4 gospels were "eye witness accounts" of the events in the life and death of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul's gospel was the one commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ to explain the true gospel to the church.

Without Paul's revelation given to him by the Lord Himself - we would have no idea from just reading the 4 gospels what happened from the cross to the throne when Jesus went to the cross, died, was buried, quickened, resurrected and then sat down on the right hand of the Father and also what all this means to the believer in Christ.

Acts 20:24 (NASB)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] "But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]
I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;

[SUP]7 [/SUP] which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

What is the sermon on the mount but a clarification of the law? His mission includes bringing His gospel for all who will receive it. He teaches by word and by example how to use the law lawfully. Otherwis it would not even be brught up in the epistles.

The law used lawfully according to JESUS cHRIST, and they) must have three points applied, and theese three points are faith, justice and mercy. Mercy alone is more than sufficient to explain and clarify all of the law. For example, an adulterer is to be stoned to death..........not when the point of mercy is included in the law. Justice and faith do figure in the application also.

Hear Jesus Christ. I do not, nor would I, fabricate His teachings. Hear Jesus Christ. Not me, not Joseph Prince, not JOhn Wesley...........not any fleshs,s hear Jesus Christ.....amen

it does make good sense.

When a brother shares with all that they should all learn from Jesus Christ and obey what He teaches, and it is consistently considered faulty to some, some had better re-examine their own alleged faith, because faith in Jesus Christ is obeying Him and hearing Him.

May God bless all who are in Jesus Christ and all who will come to Him, amen..........

Paul said,I delight In the law of GOD after the Inward man,but I see another law In my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me Into captivity to the law of sin which Is In my members.

Be obedient to faith first and then JESUS produces the fruit, not us.
