I don't usually read a book till they make it into an action movie.

I'm joking, but if you find something edifying in our wisecracks, then more power to you. :)

Hmmm... I like it! I love looking at symbolism of somewhat everyday normal things through the lens of God. Perhaps thats why Maxwel only has one. By the way, has anyone ever asked why Maxwel has those frames?

Incidentally I hit my head coming in through the garage just now (ouchie!). And of course, I had TULIP and these conversations come to mind. Maybe not so incidental after all...

I subscribed my GF to Tabletalk magazine and she lives in the UK. If they ship there, I'll bet Oz is next on the list.

If you go to the website, a chat window usually opens up. They're really helpful.

Really? I hope that's also open to internationals. :)

I'd love a good John Calvin / Martin Luther action film. They could call it, They dared to call me Catholic.

Supposedly, they are making a movie about Calvin's life, but I imagine it would be more difficult.

Luther's life almost lends itself to a hero's journey story arch. That and he was a more entertaining person as is.

His movie would have a lot of language. Calvin's wouldn't have any. Haha!

Just a lot of writing and irritable bowel syndrome.

I greatly admire Calvin, by the way. He didn't have a laugh out loud sense of humor, but I think he could take a jibe at his expense.

I don't dislike Calvin, brother. I only meant to suggest that he didn't have the rough edges and rawness of Luther. No harm.

The fellowship grows! I don't think we've had an RB in here yet. Spurgeon would be proud ;)

Feel free to duck in here when the ad hominems fly around out there. Maybe we'll get around to a conversation about baby-dunking, you salty dog. :p

I didn't detect anything of the sort.

I was the one mainly dumping on Calvin for leading a boring life (by Hollywood standards) and farting. I had to qualify it with something lest people think I'm a Calvin-hater.

One writer (I forget who) compared Luther to an erupting volcano and Calvin to a smooth flow of lava. The erupting volcano makes for better film.

Yeah, I'm totally Calvinist :) OPC (Orthodox Presbyterian Church), to be precise. In fact, I am starting a devotional at the beginning of 2017, "365 days with Calvin" some writings of Calvin compiled into a devotional format by Joel R. Beeke. promises to be good!

Oh, no doubt. Haha! I knew you didn't think I had something against Calvin.
