I hope your injuries are not self-inflicted. That isn't healthy. :p

My head injuries are caused by the Holy Spirit smacking me over the head repeatedly with Bibles daily... I'm learning to appreciate the hard line He has taken with me. Although I still stomp my feet and whine off in the corner at times.

Noooo... Although Fight Club was a good book, I enjoyed Pygmy and Invisible Monsters more.

Oh reading through the Streams of Consciousness, I'm not a U2 fan. At all. I want to make that extremely clear.

I mean they had maybe two or three good songs, but that's a terrible percentage considering their body of work. And Bono is obnoxious.

Whew! Powdered wigs and sunglasses aside, hearing U2 play constantly at the love-in may get tedious.

Unless of course 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' was put on repeat. Lovey! Very cool when you pay attention to those lyrics. Well, God truly IS everywhere after all... Even in Bono's music. Lolol.

That is a good one. My favorite by them though is "New Years Day." I also kind of like "Gloria."

Bono tries. I suppose I can give him points for that.

If I keep backpedaling, I'll hit the wall.

Maybs if you hit your head you will increase your Calvinism points and end up with a fully bloomed TULIP.

Yeah, I think the head injury reference has been stretched as far as possible. Though I can't seem to resist the irresistible.

Maxwel has started a sensation of Calvinists looking to increase their understanding via concussions. Maybe we'll meet self-flagellating Catholics, and overly zealous Charismatics full circle.

It's symbollic- man falls feeling the pain of sin. He emerges with greater knowledge of God's character and ways :p

Oh Felix Culpa...

I started a thread on continuationism vs. cessationism in the Bible subforum. I'd like to hear all your thoughts on the subject over there.
I can't decide whether to continue the thread or cease the thread.

I'm Presbyterian but I don't really believe we're predestined and my church never talks about that. Hey Phil's in jail again, well you know it was meant to be. Lol.

Reminds me of when I was Wesleyan but soteriologically Calvinist. It happens. Not often, but it happens.

I read a short book about John Calvin and Martin Luther, biographies. They both led interesting lives.

Hmmm... I like it! I love looking at symbolism of somewhat everyday normal things through the lens of God. Perhaps thats why Maxwel only has one. By the way, has anyone ever asked why Maxwel has those frames?

Incidentally I hit my head coming in through the garage just now (ouchie!). And of course, I had TULIP and these conversations come to mind. Maybe not so incidental after all...

My fellow Reformed types, Lutheran allies, and Maxwel

I recently pawed through Sproul's What is Reformed Theology? And I have to say the first half of the book is fantastic in orienting cage-stagers in our midst toward what the basis of Reformed theology is. Particularly the first half which focuses on the 5 Foundation Stones of Reformed Theology:

1. Centered on God
2. Based on God's Word Alone
3. Committed to Faith Alone
4. Devoted to the Prophet, Priest, and King
5. Covenant Theology

This is a brilliant and brief orientation that gets to the heart of what Reformed theology is all about. It would certainly stymie the snarling cage-stage if administered early. Perhaps couple it with Maxwel's Hammer.

In the second half, Sproul swings through and defends all five points (while cherry picking some John Owen quotes in the section on limited atonement), but I almost wish he would have simply made that a second book altogether. Make your friend read it after they read the first half twice or maybe three times. :p
I need to read that book. Too many books!
