All that land. All those poisonous animals. But no guns :p

Really, wow. I thought I was one of the few. Gun laws are seriously strict in Australia. If you're not a farmer or a police officer or whatever, there's little chance of owning a gun or two.

The fellowship grows! I don't think we've had an RB in here yet. Spurgeon would be proud ;)

Feel free to duck in here when the ad hominems fly around out there. Maybe we'll get around to a conversation about baby-dunking, you salty dog. :p
We know better than to dunk babies. ;-)

The PCUSA is for us Presbyterians what the ABA is for the Baptists. The PCA is like the SBC. The OPC's are like the official Reformed Baptist Churches.

The analogies are not perfect, but I hope they make sense. The PCUSA gives the rest of us a bad name. Ick.
The MB church I am in is in the WVBC, and is ABA. But we're not liberal like some in the ABA are.

i'm a terrible shot.

unless someone is about to hurt one of my children. remarkably, my aim improves at that point.
or there's always beating the offender with the weapon?
If all else fails, throw the pistol at them...after you have ran out of bullets, of course. :p

Top of the morning Ellie. Here I am...after midnight haven't went to bed yet. I need sleep considering I am trying to get over pneumonia....blah! I hope you were able to get some sleep.

Anyways, I am all for the right to bear arms, just not mine lol. I am accident prone and trip over thin air so it's probably a smart idea not to hold a weapon, right? I am my own worst enemy haha!

By Golly I think you nailed it...but seriously men make fun of us women if we break a nail because we cry...but it really does hurt. Men, have some empathy for us women, please?
Not only hurts, but whenever a well manicured nail is heading for it's final voyage, it's real sad:p. I'm not really joking, it is sad;)...I'm not sure what I mean lol...maybe it's time to stop posting now;).

It was my understanding the ABA was mostly liberal. I guess the analogy was more imperfect than I thought.

rofl.... since it's Des' fun house, i'll tell you that each young man who has come courting one of our daughters hears the same speech from me.

i tell them, if you harm my little girl in any way, i will kill you with my bare hands, bury you in the backyard, dig you up and kill you again. (i do try to keep a serious look on my face)

a few times since he married one of the girls, our son-in-law has been here for the initiation. when said young man's eyes grow wide at my proclamation, Aaron says, "yep. and we all thought dad would be the scary one!"

God predestined me to be the scary one. ;)

I think some in the ABA are liberal as they have ordained women ministers. The WVBC is very conservative.

You are very welcome! That's what you get for allowing women in the news forum and well, out in public.......

we have our special touch to things, admit it?

I know very well what you mean, I cry too for multiple reasons when I break a nail. Luckily, I haven't done that in over a year since I began getting mine professionally done. Now, if I can stop stubbing my toe which hurts like a son of a gun, am I right?

Isn't the OPC way more conservative than the PCUSA? My wife has a cousin that attends a Presbyterian church and when I asked her if they taught election and predestination, I was baffled. I guess they are PCUSA?
Yeah...PCUSA is totally different from OPC. Several of the PCA Presbyteries even have more liberal, PCUSA beliefs :( (That's why my church actually left the PCA).

Yes, I believe we were considered evil until the 1950s or so. Which is stupid superstition, not godly wisdom.
Too true.

I should be alright. I remembered that, even though I'm left-handed, I would be able to hold a sword in my right hand. Left-handed feels weird. So I'll be fine after all.
Strange coincidence: even though I am right-handed, I hold a sword in my LEFT hand. (Same applies to a baseball bat). Dunno why.

This reminds me of that controversy in the gun culture- if your hand and eye are cross-dominant, do you shoot with your non-dominant hand?

I still don't know what I should officially do. :p
Officially, you're supposed to shoot using your dominant eye ALWAYS, even if this involves using your non-dominant hand. However, I know a leftie who shoots left-handed even though he's right-eye dominant, (and uses his non-dominant eye), I know a rightie who shoots right-handed, even though they are left-eye dominant (and uses his non-dominant eye), AND...my brother (who is right handed, left-eye dominant) shoots right-handed and uses his dominant eye crosswise! I think it depends on what works for the individual :D

do you think it might have had something to do with the fact Latin for left is sinistra ?

my Aunt Barb is left handed, too, which places you and her in what? like 11% of the population?

my dad, sister, husband and two of our kids have green eyes, and that makes them even more of an oddity. ;)

I'm a left handed, blue eyed, ginger hillbilly, barely taller than mowed wire grass lol. Reckon it makes me one of a kind;).

How many Presbyterian branches are there?

Any more?
