Where is Melita when we need her. (Although Sunday, so she probably wore a skirt or dress to church. lol)

I, for one, am in my jammies again. (And cringing because I have to put on my man-pants to go out in frigid cold to clear off the car and feed birds... with bread, which clearly disturbs Ladybug. lol)
You put on your man-pants, and I'll put on my lady-robe. :D

O.K. This is what I got from the OP... His wife doesn't want to submit to him because he isn't on the same spiritual level she is... I'm taking it as he doesn't speak in tongues and she does and until he does she doesn't feel that she should have to submit to him.

So how far off am I in my take on the original post?

Sounds to me like you both need to go and have a talk with your Pastor to help you sort out this issue. Because we are all on a different level spiritually and hopefully we are all growing in Christ. I don't think personally it is a prerequisite to be on the same spiritual level to obey the directions and examples given in the Bible. Husbands to love their wives and a wife to respect her husband should be an everyday occurrence as in two become one flesh and are a part of each other.

I also suggest you start having daily Bible reading and devotions together and place God in the center of your relationship and pray together. I have never spoken in tongues and don't believe it would make me any closer to God than I am now and don't believe my husband has ever spoken in tongues either and I don't consider either one of us heathens for not doing so...

God loves you both very much and I hope and pray that you will seek help with your Pastor to sort this out as marriage should be something your love being in. God bless as you seek help for your situation.

Wow a bunch of you here seem like jobs friends......Go ahead hate me for that comment your already forgiven.
Her understanding of the gift of tongues is in err..I agree but that's not the issue.
The issue is in the challenge and the response to the challenge.
Notice this thread blew up the minute ones opinion instead of God's word came into play. (Jobs friends).

All of us have had arguments with our spouses...how was it resolved... was it....taking sides will not resolve anything it just makes it worse.

Now, I'm getting to the point of ribs hurting from laughing. Good thing your avatar is a girl or my mind gets even worse on that imagine. Let's just say I'm wondering if you have white socks and sandals to go with lady-robe. lol

Hmmmm, I'm beginning to wonder whether this thread was posted to get the ladies riled up about the whole submission thing and to make us gents look bad, no matter what we post. With the speaking-in-tongues issue thrown in as a bonus..........

Bob Dylan, originally, was a folk singer. He played an acoustic guitar. He became huge in the folk scene. (Bob Dylan. No kidding, huh?) And then he being him decided to go electric.

Fans were furious. They called him Judas.

I'm sorry. I cannot believe someone can be married to anyone for 4.5 years and have no clue what "Apostolic blahblahblah" means. You don't marry someone until you know what the person believes, unless it has to do with a drunken lost weekend scenario.

So, excuse me for going the easy way out, but I'll let Bob's words explain what I think of the OP.

I completely and fully support submission. Women get the easy part -- submit. Men get the hard part -- love like Christ loves the church.

Yippee! Works for me.

I think the person who set the price of a loaf of bread so high that one has to rob a
bank to afford it, is the criminal.

Doesn't work on slow. (Might work in reverse. lol)

Hope you are talking about a fishing rod and my father in law loves to spoil all the women in his life. We get a pound of chocolate every Christmas in our stockings
