And John told us exactly what those commandments are in the New Covenant later on in his letter.

1 John 3:23 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP]
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.
very good 777: now do you understand what believe means? Believe and obey are synonymous within the text, therefore the first act of faith is obedience to the truth. Jesus, John the baptizer, and Peter's first message of salvation was to repent and believe/obey.. The flesh will seek a different definition than that of one seeking through the spirit, that's why their gospels are the complete opposites..........be blessed

Sad that when we respond to a post we have to be on guard to be fired upon.

But I know that it is the doctrine that is abhorrent to them, (I have doctrines I abhor to because I was a victim of them) and

so while it may seem personal hopefully it is not always so, although sometimes it is a personal attack :(
One thing that is really of concern to me is all this stuff you talk about....but then state you do not go to church and you expect us to believe you know what you are talking about in regards to progressive sanctification, spiritual maturity and growth....

Has grace evolved in your world to the point that it now removes the need for being planted in the house?

This is an entirely different conversation but ENOW has an excellent thread on it :D

But I can say this quickly, Grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord, if we do this we will be changed, it cannot be otherwise God is faithful

What does God ask of us to DO after we have submitted to HIS authority?

How are we different than the world, if we have truly been born again?

Hi Stephan...As i am walking with our Lord, i have learned from my early days that when i have sinned, the Lord convicts me of my sin, then i repent and move on...This is how i am growing, being convicted of my past sins reminds me more to walk away from them, the gaps of me committing some major sins in my past are getting wider and wider, some now i only have to look at when temptation comes my way and i am like " No thank you " because i remember how the Lord convicted me previously, so this to me is growing...Surely people don`t believe that we don`t need to be convicted, how else would we feel quilt and shame and not want to repent to get right with the Lord peace again  ...xox...
Hypergracers & easy believists believe that.

Exactly!! This Make Him Lord phrase, seems to mean, a stringent obedience to not sin, who of us can do that outside of His grace?

I confess Him as Lord by believing in the Gospel, so that I cease from my own self-effort to gain salvation

Romans 10: 13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

Lets see

you repent, by changing your view on who you are compared to who God is,

becase of yur repentance, you realize your situation is hopeless, you have rebelled, you have sinned, God was your enemy, and because of these things, you are rightly condemned

because of repentance you realize your only hope is s Gods via the cross, because no matter what you do, it is always for self, and every time you to this you fail,

bcause of repentance, you admit Gods right, your wrong

because of repentance you decide to place your eternity in Gods hands, and recieve his gift of eternal life based on the cross,

then after all this, and after you place true faith in all god says,

yur not not going to submit to his leading, but continue on the path you were in before you repented?

the church has these men fooled, so fooled that logic has been removed from thinking, and illogic has replaced it.

You know that inward witness Spirit they do not talk about anymore....yeah, you know, they used to call him the still small, voice...the one....that...you know speaks in your belly?.....they now call IT a conscience...or intuition...yeah when that thingee in your belly says...don't do that...and you go ahead and do it....

That is the leading voice of the Holy Spirit convincing you that what you are about to do is not walking in him or in practical righteousness and will result in SIN.....then when you do it, it is the voice that causes you to realize...I missed the mark on that and you confess it and ask for forgiveness and then move out and partner with the same Spirit to overcome the temptation to keep repeating it...

Conviction means to convince of a thing...
Sometimes its like that.

Sometimes God convicts me when I take time at the end of my day and pray. Then God reveals what I should have done and shows me missed times when I could have shown His love. Its not condemning but correcting and teaching us how to more fully walk with Him....

For me it's not paying as much attention or showing a patient and loving manner to those around me. Sometimes I need to stop doing and spend time being and loving others. Sometimes I waste time doing things that aren't really helpful to anyone,

I have found that to listen can be an expression of love too,, just as much as baking someone an peach cobbler.

Is that really how it happens with you...? It's okay if it does. It just happens different with me.
Can you give me a real life example? A specific sin? and walk me through it? If it's not too embarrassing?

I go to bible study with believers that are born again and we serve each other in love, I have a comfort level only for small groups.

I have been to church but I like the intimacy of a small group and where we learn together

I will be honest but I have you on ignore, but I clicked on your post for some unknown reason, I am sorry but I am not able to converse more that what I have said.

Hi SBG...Maybe i should of said correct...xox...
Hebrews 12:8 comes to mind :)

If you are not disciplined--and everyone undergoes discipline--
then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.

What you describe is a meat of truth many miss...

You understand the difference between the Peace of God and Peace with God....

Many have never known the Peace of God, because they have never made Peace with God...they have mentally assented and but never fly submit...so thy get tossed to and fro between every doctrine....

People without the Peace of God are moved by circumstances....People with the Peace of God stand firm in the battle boots of the good news of the Peace of God and are never moved, staggered or shaken....

Your post proves you have the Peace of God....because you made Peace with God

When I want t d something (I should say my flesh desires) and the desire is real and strong, I usually hear a voice which says no, but it does not always work, if I do not take my mind off that thing, and into something spiritual, and I never up falling,

the voice after i sin I sin is so strong and so old, and so deep, I almost tear myself down. The chastening of God can be subtle, but for me, it is direct and to the point, it reminds me n Ct time I have the urge of the afteaffects of the last Time, and helps me to refocus.

You fellowship with others in Christ, and we (meaning also those in your Bible study group) are the church, not some building with a cross on the top of it :)

We confess Him as Lord, I do not make Him my Lord, I do not make His Lordship come into effect He always was and always will be Lord.

I submit to His authority because He is Lord
I make him my personal Lord & Savior. (for me)

I decide & make His Lordship come into effect for me
by submitting to His Lordship.

That's what makes it a personal reationship with Christ.

I used to walk past homeless people when I was a young Christian (fear of what they might do, sense of helplessness, etc were the reasons I gave myself) but now God tells me to stop and show them His love.though sometimes in my hurry I still drive pass them instead of taking the time to stop and speak and listen to their stories.

So true, I wish I had followed this better from the start, but when we venture into a new world one does have to learn to navigate it...hey... I am maturing in the world of CC :)

Being fired upon is part and parcel of this public, online world which we inhabit. If one is solidly grounded in the Word of God, though, there is no reason to back down from what we believe regarding it. That we have differing understandings and beliefs is almost to be expected despite the outcry from others of what such differences mean to the body as a whole. The important thing is that we behave as a body and not merciless agents of mercenary guerrilla warfare firing upon the enemy. Why this is so difficult is understandable also if we acknowledge our own passion to that which we adhere. A test then comes in how we deal with those who oppose us. If those who oppose us constantly make personal attacks, they are not likely to accept correction, for they are operating out of ego: edging God out. Choosing our battles becomes a matter of engaging only those who deal honestly with us, and with humility, because we know they are trustworthy. Not everyone is trustworthy. Discernment and detachment are necessary, as well as knowing where our boundaries and limitations are.

I haven't gotten them to show how they grow, either. They refuse to answer me.

Good post.
Stephan; im guessing that they perceive that by focusing on their identity in Christ who did it all for them, therefore His growth becomes theirs...its derived from the false understanding of Jesus' statement "it is finished".....be blessed
