I never thought about it like that.
Nice thought, I agree, so here is God's Torah.

The commandments of Jesus
1. "Forgive everybody of all their offences against you."
2. "You must be born again."
3. "Abide in me, and let me abide in you."
4. "Let people see your good works." (do not hide your light under a basket.)
5. "End disputes quickly."
6. "Whatever causes you to sin, get rid of it."
7. "Do not swear oaths at all."
8. "Do not return offence for offence." (Turn the other cheek.)
9. "Give what people ask of you, and give more than is required." (Go the extra mile.)
10. "Love your enemies and those who work against you."
11. "Give to the poor to please God, not to gain approval from other people."
12. "Pray privately and simply, not to impress other people."
13. "Make your prayers be like the Lord’s Prayer."
14. "When you fast, do it secretly, not for show."
15. "Store up your treasures in heaven, not on earth."
16. "Do not worry about your material needs."
17. "Do not worry about the future."
18. "Make God your highest priority, and he will take care of all your needs."
19. "Do not judge other people." (Judge not, lest ye be judged.)
20. "Do not give holy things to dogs or cast your pearls before swine."
21. "Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, comfort those in distress."
22. "Follow the narrow path to life." (enter by the narrow gate.)
23. "Beware of false prophets."
24. "Exercise power over unclean spirits."
25. "Love little children, do not despise them."
26. "Do not take the titles 'master' or 'father' for yourself."
27. "Resolve disputes in an orderly way, like this . . . "
28. "Do not oppose other believers in Christ who are not in your group."
29. "Have total faith in God for everything."
30. "Be like the good Samaritan." (go, and do likewise.)
31. "Love other people as i have loved you"
32. "Eat bread and drink wine in remembrance of me."
33. "Wash one another's feet."
34. "Be merciful."
35. "Go and teach all nations, baptising them."
36. "Keep my commandments."
37. "Be prepared for your master to return."

Unless you miss with the hammer and hit your thumb.
I am afraid, that sometimes we do, even though our intentions are good. :)

When I lead a midweek group I did a series looking at the commands of Jesus.

Truly fascinating and I learned so much. Relating the command and it's context and culture.

I often wander if Jesus came in our time how serious would he do it today.

Jesus, the Light of the World, the Good Shepherd who looks after us and cares for us lest we stumble. Notice the difference between the darkness of the Levitical Law and the Law of Love as personified in Jesus Christ and let us make our choice, in Jesus name, for where there is light darkness cannot exist.

And then say sorry to God for the words that come out of my mouth. As I had to explain to my young daughter when she heard such words.

I had no idea that she was behind me.

I looked at 40. From what I read some think there was 52.

On the forgiveness I did four weeks. It's so so so important.
I genuinely believe it's the biggest determent to our walk with God.
It truly affects our walk with God, with others and I believe it affects our health.

The funny thing.

I sat with my daughter and explained that those are words we should not really say and if we do then say sorry to Jesus.
I then said "Please don't say those words"

She said "Ok daddy" then she ran down stairs and I heard her say to her 3 siblings
"Daddy said the words ####, #######, ##### but we are not allowed to say them and if we do we have to say sorry to Jesus so don't say ####, #####, #####.

After I stopped laughing I did say to them all "Look we will do things wrong, get it wrong and when we do it's OK to come before God and say sorry, he wants us to do that"

PS, Sleep well may it be a restful one.

It's been a pleasure to get to know you.

RED. Really! So we can go round stealing, murdering, worshipping false gods and graven images......

Come on, you know better than that.
why is it whenever someone says we are not under law. People ASSUME we mean it is ok to go around and do those things.

Those things were sins before the law was given the law has nothing to do with committing or not committing those sins.

If we have known sin in our life, we "will" repent. The child of the Spirit cannot remain in sin. It's heavy on ones conscience.

And God is a great Father to chastise us with His Word.

Jesus is our sabbath rest LGF, and until you have entered into the finished work of Jesus, the only Saving power of mankind, you are just religious. Working to,please Father is not acceptable to Him. It's faith in the sacrifice that He Himself gave, when He gave His only perfect Son to us. A dying world, soon to pass. His work alone is acceptable.
Hello SOF,

SIN is the transgression of God's Law (James 2:11; Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4). God's 4th commandment is one of the ten ( Exodus 20:8-11 ) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

If you have known unrepentant SIN in your life you have NOT entered into God's REST and do not KNOW HIM because you are still in your SINS (1 John 3:3-10). If the Word of God has come to you and you reject it you are in UNBELIEF and SIN and UNBELIEVERS have no part in God's Kingdom.

It's never been about following the law its always been about following Christ by faith through love alone. Faith that works by love is what fulfills God's Law in those that walk in His Spirit (Romans 13:8-10).

Obedience is only the fruit of faith and a sign that someone is genuinely following God's Word (Matthew 7:17-27). If you seek obedience without faith you will never attain it because this is the gift of God written on the heart (Ephesians 2:8; Galatians 2:16; Hebrews 8:10-12).

But if you believe God's Word, your faith will be counted for righteousness in God's eyes (Romans 1:17; Philippians 3:9). If your faith does not have the fruit of obedience (God's work in you) than you are still in your sins and have not seen him or known him and your faith is dead (Philippians 2:13; Hebrews 10:26-27; 1 John 2:2-4; 1 John 3:3-9).

What we are talking about is SIN and how SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's Kingdom. If you profess to have saving FAITH but your faith does NOT have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE to God's Word then your faith is DEAD and you are still in your SINS and do not KNOW him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE all as he first LOVED us. LOVE is the fulfilling of the LAW in those who walk by FAITH in God's Spirit. (James 2:18; 20; 26; Romans 13:8-10; 1 John 3:3-10; James 2:8-12; Matthew 7:13-20)

There are only two classes of people spoken about in God's Word. These are those that follow God by Faith through LOVE and those that do not. Those that do NOT BELIEVE have rejected His Word. Those that have NOT Heard the WORD are ignorant and God winks at. Those that have heard the Word however and have rejected God's Word are UNBELIEVERS and unless they repent and confess their SINS they WILL NOT Enter into God's Kingdom (Hebrews 10:26-27)

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten ( Exodus 20:8-11 ) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness w e are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place. There is NO scripture that says Jesus is a Sabbath.

Wow. This is completely not true, the seventh day was part of the Hebrew calendar which was Lunar.

The different calendars (Lunar, Julian and Gregorian) have changed the actual number of days in a year, you deny historical fact.

You would need to follow a Lunar calendar to maintain the Sabbath.

This only has reference and importance in relation to keeping of the annual feast days. It has no relevance to the keeping of God's 4th commandment which is every 7th day of the week which has always been kept and never lost.

The funny thing.

I sat with my daughter and explained . . . .
WAY too funny! :D

I did have a different but similar childhood experience with my father that has stuck with me. Must tell.

It was the 1940s. Father was one of the preachers in our sort-of-Arminian church. I loved him, following him and "working with" him. I wanted to learn everything I could from him -- everything except his G-D. But I spent most of my time with Mother, while he worked. She claimed the same G-D, and although she was a SS teacher and major church-worker, I hated her god.

So on one of my fortunate days, when I was about 7, I stood, quiet and attentive behind him, as he looked over the newly-installed second bathroom in the back of the house. As a final touch, he started to put up a little picture above the toilet.

SMACK! His hammer hit his thumb, and blood squirted all over the new, pale pink walls and dripped on the new toilet.

Holding my breath, I waited for the words and for him to hit me . . . . And all he said was, "Humph." Then he calmly washed the running blood from his thumb and wrapped it in toilet paper.

I wondered about that for a long, long time: it made Father a real wonder to me. He was my hero for years to come.

Hello UG,

If you believe what I have said above is not true then prove it.

Show me how any of the Calendars have effected the number of days in a week (1-7).

I have already told you in the previous posts that the only thing any of the calendars have changed is the number of days and weeks in the year. Did you read my posts? Changing the number of days in the year or the number of weeks in a year does NOT effect the number of days in a WEEK.

It is not very hard to understand if the number of days in the week have not been effected then either has knowing what day is the Sabbath. The Sabbath is every 7th Day of the week. :) The Jews and other people around the world have been keeping the Sabbath for thousands of years already.

You may want to think about an apology but I will leave that between you and God.
