Scripture also tells us not to put our trust in mortal man.

1 Corinthians 14: 34-35
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission,
as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home;
for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

They said this because most women in that region were uneducated, and that it would be hard for them to teach.

Psalm 146:3Do not put your trust in princes,
in mortal men, who cannot save.
4When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.
5Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
the Lord, who remains faithful forever.
7He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets prisoners free,
8the Lord gives sight to the blind,
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous.
9The Lord watches over the alien
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

I pray that we all put our main hope in Jesus and His teaching.
There is nothing in the text to indicate the reason for women NOT teaching is due to their supposed lack of education.

He says it's ''disgraceful''. This has nothing to do with stupidity.

In 1 timothy 2, this charge is given due to the order of creation. Not due to women being stupid.

then you could always talk about the true meaning of "grace" and how you can "dis" it.....

I think this thread is becoming only more and more childish. One sees how grown people chooses to put up their own stones and throwing at one another.

I do have read some of her books, as well as some other books written by other Christians, and God has helped me through those books during those times I read them. As long as such books helps other people, and making them seeking God and drawing closer to God, then I don't see anything wrong with it. If they'd making them doing the opposite, then I'd agree there is something wrong going on with it. God still inspires people around the globe, whether they are writing a book or preaching out, and as long as it is all used for God's glory, who are we then to judge like if we'd been put in the same position like God? God is the real judge, and it is so easy for humans to bashing out at each others and claiming the other one is wrong and that we are most right. Whilst God looks at the heart, and He keeps on inspiring and loving every human that loves Him.

It grieves me seeing how much a lot of Christians chooses to battle against flesh and blood, instead of battling together against the dark rulers of this world, and working as a team in Christ Jesus. We are to love one another, every sister and brother in Christ, and walking hand in hand in prayer as well as team working as in reaching out to others with His Love, and most of all; With His Salvation.

This is all what I have to say about this thread, I am not interested to arguing nor getting into any ridicuolous nor any wasted discussions.

-God Bless-

cronjecj I also believe that God can use her for the good of those who do love him.
She does help the people who need help. (water, food and love)
And can I ask you how many hearts have you won for Christ?
If God did not want her doing what she does, don't you think that she would have been
taken off the air long time ago?
I don't believe there are many leaders on TV, that don't make me question something that is taught.
If we look at the big picture, Joyce Meyers has done a lot of good for the Love of Jesus.

Galatians 3:26-29
You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Acts 2:17
'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

1.
the foretelling or prediction of what is to come.
2. something that is declared by a prophet, especially a divinely inspired prediction, instruction, or exhortation.

3. a divinely inspired utterance or revelation: oracular prophecies.

4. the action, function, or faculty of a prophet.

That is what I was taught by one of my male pastors at church.
Sorry, but he said that women were not allowed to be educated back
then. And that there are still places where women are left to be ingnorant...
not stupid. I'm not trying to agrue...I'm just searching for truth.
So what is it? Was I taught wrong?

Hi Shekaniah and everybody else.

PLEASE PLEASE listen to the audio before making any more comments. Why defend someone who preaches blasphemies against Jesus. She clearly stated (with her own lips) that she believes (as does the whole of Word of Faith) that Jesus ceased to be the Son of God, that He became a sinner and therefore needed to be born-again at the resurrection. She stated many other lies about our faith. Again, don't comment until you have listened to the whole audio,

I agree the Word of Faith doctrine has problems. Jesus said "It is finished" from the Cross before He died and the Bible says He preached when He went to Hell. It's even possible that He was in Abraham's Bosom when He preached to those in captivity.
The Bible also teaches that we should say "If the Lord will" before we do anything. Some people say "Lord willing". We cannot claim phynancial prosperity without saying "if the Lord will". James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, Today or tommorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Where as ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and the vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

The scriptures DO NOT say that Jesus preached in Hell. It says "He preached to the spirits in prison" and it was in relation to the time of Noah. Context would indicate that He preached through Noah. In other words, those who perished in the flood had a chance to repent before the flood, but they are now imprisoned awaiting their judgement.

Yet again another deliberate Word of Faith twist of the scriptures.

In case you cannot read, I do not agree with Word of Faith doctrine. I'm not a word of faith believer.

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

By which also means that the two verses are connected and that Jesus did this at the time of His death.

Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

Captivity is the same thing as the spirits in prison; this also happened at Jesus' death and ressurrection.[/

I wasn't saying you were a Word faith believer. It is just that you quoted a verse which Word Of Faith preachers regularly use. Therefore, I was trying to point out that they quote something the Bible does not say. The Bible does not say that Jesus went to Hell. The closest we get is "preached to the spirits in prison" but that is not clearly stated that this is preaching in hell.

The other verses you quote are also vague (open to possible misinterpretation). The context of Ephesians $ is regarding Jesus descending from Heaven to Earth and then back to Heaven. The rest could be interpreted to say that His resurrection and ascension enabled prisoners of sin to be set free, therefore He was able to pour out the Holy Spirit and give spiritual gifts.

Word of Faith are in the habit of selecting vague verses (out of context) to build heretical doctrines.

Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

You might need to reconsider if Jesus went to Hell or not.
