Israel is not America's 51st state so why do we give them a dime-?

At the end of the day I am a child of Washington's Farewell Address and the Monroe Doctrine- no substantial favoritism abroad, no action unless the security and independence of the American people is threatened.

This means, a peacetime is Israel is left to fend for itself unless there is a common threat. As it so happens though, we have a common threat.

In my perfect world, Israel would be a part of a revived and reinvigorated Commonwealth of nations. No need for the good ol' US of A to give them much of anything in that case.

Israel is a self proclaimed religious state. The Constitution forbids the government from supporting any religious institution. A state is an institution. Therefore, it is unconstitutional to support Israel.

Israel may not be a state of the United States but they are in FACT God's chosen people. If we leave them or break the treaty we have with them I cant see God looking at this nation in a favorable light. The Hebrew people throughout history have had good and bad times but God never gave up on them. Jesus Christ was in fact born a Israelite. If the United States gives Israel 4 billion and another nation 12 billion then I say we give the 12 billion to God's chosen people. How is this even a discussion with Christians that have read the Bible? Maybe reading what US presidents have said about Israel.U.S. Presidential Quotes About Jewish Homeland & Israel| Jewish Virtual Library God Bless

As I have documented on this forum before, nowhere in the Bible is it written that only Jews are God's Chosen. It is clearly written that all 12 Israelite tribes who are direct descendants of Abraham and all Christians are heirs to the Promise. See Galatians 3:29.

They are an ally and trading partner of the USA. They are surrounded by hoards of shia and sunni muslims who want to kill all of them. Religious nonsense aside...friends help friends because that is what friends do.

I could say the same but that could be construed as feeding the troll.

only in your imagination

By the way, as I mentioned above, under our system of disestablishment, government cannot support any religious institution. Therefore, you lose the argument (like all the others) in this thread. ;)

You liked to play in mud puddles as a child didn't you? I'll bet you even buried your face in a sandbox and opened your eyes to see if you could see anything.

Again you are addressing the issue but are engaging in innuendo.

Thank you for conceding the issue.

[h=3]Ephesians 4:31-32[/h]
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

I did not say the Jews were the only ones chosen by God. I did use the words Israelite's and Hebrews. Yes its very true that all Christians are heirs to the promise from God (Yahweh). The fact remains that we would have had no chance for salvation if it were not for the Israelite's.

For Christians that feel like anger is a good place to wright from think a bit harder. Read I Corinthians. Am I so very wrong in thinking that even a Christian Chat should in fact be conducted in a Christian manner?

Matthew 25:40
John 13:14,34,35
Romans 12:10,16
Romans 13:8

1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.

Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.

1 Peter 3:8 Live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.

If you are indeed a born again Christian then I call you brother or sister. I don't take that title lightly as some I have met do. The anger and even hatred I have seen and read here is the reverse of what I had expected to find. You are brothers and sisters in Christ, think of what God would say to you, and in fact has said.

God Bless
