So every time something evil happens, it means God wasn't around?
I thought He was omnipresent.

Dark - light
Cold - heat
God - evil

Except that the light could be turned to off.
Ditto for heat.

How does one turn God off in order to have evil?

Fran

God has allowed evil to exist, for a time. Because of the fall evil exists, and free will exists. People choose to do good or evil.

There are multiple big band theories. And they all have been proven invalid as the human/animal/...ect// DNA is not envolving but falling apart. If that theory was right we would have to keep envolving
Yes, there were many envolved
in the Big Band theory-era...

There was Jimmy Dorsey and the Darwinians,

and of course Tommy Dorsey's String Theory Quartet
w/the Brass Knuckle-Draggers Orchestra,

And don't forget Gene Krupa's DNA Drummers,
They could really 'Bang' out the 'Big' hits!

(Theoretically speaking)

All arguments, all thinking, all science, and all aspects of life depend on the law of causality. This is where the argument for God's existence begins.

Evil isn't a thing, like a chair or a rock. Evil is the absence of good. If we have free will to choose good then the opposite of good is evil. God did not create evil, but He allows it as an opposition to good. Therefore we have a choice. Evil/ Good.

We'll drop this discussion.
Just to say that you haven't answered the question.
You haven't even really considered what I said.
I'm not talking about free will. I'm talking about the origin of evil
God certainly didn't create it or He couldn't be all good.

But don't you think evil is a something? Isn't it satan and his works?

We'll drop it because
1. It's too off topic
2. THERE'S NO ANSWER. I said this from the beginning.

Blessings

Did you make this up?
I think you belong in Hollywood.
They must need some comedy writers out that way!
Not too sure you'd be accepted though -
You'd have to leave your faith behind!!

She was making a joke from a typo in Demi's post. Chill Fran. You're attacking people. You dont have to do that to get a point across. Besides that you jumped the gun. B1 was joking.

Who loves discipline loves knowledge, who hates reproof is stupid - Proverbs 12:1
And from the sermon on the mount... blessed are those poor in spirit for they shall inherit the kingdom of God

Her question was answered. Evil is the absence of good. Lucifer chose it, man chose it. Free will has to have opposites. Its not difficult to understand. I dislike people throwing their weight around,it isnt necessary.

why does evil exist: because he gave all free will. anything else?
Does darkness exist? no science prooves that its only the absence from light.
Does coldness exist? No its only the scientific absence of heat
evil? evil Is the absence of God
Evil is the absence of God, according to a theory you made up by applying a line of thinking that can be proven by science, to spiritual matters. Problem with the whole martyr mindset of 'Jesus only had a few followers, so that's proof of everyone disagrees with me, I'm right' is that there are 1000's of others who contradict you and say the same thing.
So rather than falsely apply scientific ideas to the spiritual, or think being rejected is evidence you're right, I'll just use the bible.

James 1:13 - '... for God cannot be tempted with evil, and He Himself tempts no one'.

You cant define evil as an absence of God, that's not biblical. Hell is an absence of God. Evil occurs as a result of people who reject following Gods ways, but that doesn't mean He is absent. To follow your believed, every time evil is performed God simply ceases to exist in that space, or all together. That puts the power to banish God temporarily in the hands of sinners, making them, in a manner of speaking, more powerful than God.
