I was enjoying this thread, it started out so good. Human love is fickle, it is based on ' me me me me ', until we have children, then its , ' them them them me' LOL, but the love of a parent for a child starts to beckon similarities to the 'divine love' we are privy to in Jesus.
I can't comprehend what Jesus did for us on the cross, what He went through even before He hung there dissolves my understanding. "[SUP]14 [/SUP]. . . his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men". "I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting".
This is love toward us, uncomplicated, all giving, life transforming. It has already been posted here; love is long suffering, and is kind; Love does not envy; Love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,Love does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; Does not Rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; Endures all things, believes all things, hopes all things, Love never fails.
This is the love we have toward our brothers and sisters and our creator, and it fulfils our place here on earth, it guides us and brings us into His presence. WOW!
