This is the OP --
This is what I've heard/seen in my life:
-- "These streaks are so awful I want to die." (My cousin decided to put streaks in her dark hair. She did it wrong, so she had a top layer of white over very dark hair at the ripe age of 17. lol)
-- "What did we do so wrong that we are still alive and yet all our family and friends have died? Why are we still here?" (Said by my 94 year old great-uncle to his baby sister -- my grandmother -- when she was 90.)
-- The horrified face of my mother when she saw me the last time. Watching her walk into the bathroom and seeing agonizing pain at ever muscle moved to do just that.
So, seriously, first I'd ask why, because unless I know the story, I don't know if the person needs help.
Your mom didn't ask. I'm the kind of person who has to ask. Just because someone wants to die, doesn't mean they really want to die, nor does it mean they're suicidal. None of those people I mentioned wanted to commit suicide.
I know because I asked them how they were.
The assumption on this thread was someone wants to commit suicide. Without first finding out what's up with that person, how does anyone know?
And, frankly, since the person who asked this question asked it as first post and never said anything since, I'm guessing it was a matter of her checking in if strangers were okay with her killing herself, (at best.)
There is a time I won't ask, and that was then. The internet is no place for real counseling and it is a great place to pretend to be so much, that I won't chance someone else's life over my online hunches.
