However, I believe that the following verses talk about immersion in water:
Acts 2
38Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins ; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Here the Greek verb "baptizo" is clearly referring to water baptism
no it isn't, you just made that up.
It is talking about immersed in Jesus name. Very clear and simple.

Matthew 3:
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized , went up straightway out of the water: and, lo , the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him
In Mt 3:16 it says that Jesus was baptized (Greek verb baptizo, Strong's no: 907, and yes, this was John's water baptism off course, and did not involve any work of God, it was a pledge made in good conscience). The word baptizo refers to water baptism. How else would he "come out or the water?" This is a verse ABOUT BAPTISM. It is not a reference to baptism.
Again, Acts 2:38 is about baptism, and not a reference to baptism. Not an analogy. Water Baptism was the godly solution (along with repentance) that Peter offered to the people who BELIEVED as a result of the falling of the Holy Spirit and as a result of Peter's speech. Water (H2O) did nothing. However, baptism was an act of obedience. Jesus had commanded his disciples to baptise in Mt 28: 19. In Acts 2:38, Peter is obeying this command and teaching them to be baptized.
How did they water baptize multitudes? Simple. Once you are water baptized, you can baptize others. (This is different from the laying of hands, which could be done only by the Apostles)
REFERENCES to baptism are in: Mt 20:22, Lk 12:50, where it does not mean water baptism.
So I did not make this up. It is in the Bible, and it is very clear that immersion is all about water.
