It's quite simple. If a one remains in faith, then the promises of forgiveness and eternal life are valid. If one does not remain in faith, then they have wandered away from the truth. One is not saved regardless of what one does! If one goes back to living according to the sinful nature and dies in that state, then they will have died in there sins.
Did you bother reading any of the scriptures that I provided? They're self explanatory. If a believer doesn't remain in Christ, then that person cannot bear fruit. If they continue to not remain in Christ, then in that state that cannot bear fruit and that because they are living according to the sinful nature. So, when the Lord comes to gather his church, those people who have not remained in him will not be gathered. Just read the scriptures that I provided. they're self explanatory.
