reading this thread, how many of you believe that the Bible is a weapon to be used against anyone who disagrees with you?
in answer to the op:
no, you don't have to read the whole or even a part of the Bible in order to be saved
don't confuse salvation with something you do
You believe God sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die on your behalf. And He rose again from the grave. God is holy as we learn in the OT and really throught the entire 66 books of the Bible and because He is holy, sin cannot come before Him.
So, in order to be able to be in fellowship with His creation once again, His Son died in our place. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are accepting God's salvation and that makes us acceptable to God so that we become His children
This, is called the grace of God...grace means unmerited favor...that is, we do not and we cannot earn what God freely give
Now the Bible teaches us about our walk once we are saved. God places His Spirit within us so that we will desire to change and to follow Christ
Nothing we do can ever be more or better than what God has already done for us. We should not continue to live our old lifestyle...but change is a process called santification.
