John 14:15 • “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
John 14:21 • “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me.”
John 14:23 • “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him”
John 14:24 • “He who does not love Me does not keep My words”
John 15:14 • “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.”
Does anyone get to heaven …
who does not love Jesus, who is not His friend, who does not keep His commandments?

James 1 (NKJV):
[SUP]12[/SUP] Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved,
he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
[SUP]14[/SUP] But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
[SUP]15[/SUP] Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;
and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth (eternal) death.
[SUP]16[/SUP] Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

James is warning these beloved brethren (1:16) …
Believers who love Jesus will overcome the temptation to sin, and thus will be approved,
and receive the crown of (eternal) life … instead of earning eternal death.

He is echoing Paul’s warning in Romans 6 …
Believers must choose to be slaves of obedience, which leads to righteousness and holiness,
instead of choosing to be slaves of sin … which leads to eternal death.

There are 2 opposites above in James 1 …
Overcoming sinning >> the crown of life
… compared to … Sinning >> eternal death

“The believer who perseveres will receive the crown of life.
The ‘crown of life’ is the crown of victory over sin, or the crown of victory in our life’s race.
The main meaning of the crown of life is salvation, or eternal life.”
… The Applied New Testament Commentary -- Thomas Hale, 1996, ChariotVictor Publishing
(Dr. Hale is a Spirit-filled believer who served as a medical missionary with Interserve in Nepal.)

Revelation 2 (NKJV):
[SUP]10[/SUP] … Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
[SUP]11[/SUP] He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.

Jesus considers being “faithful” has to do with overcoming sin, etc. (see Revelation 3:21).
He certainly does not define an overcomer as one who believes He is the Son of God.
The second death is being cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14 and 21:8).

There are 2 opposites above in Revelation 2 …
Being faithful until death >> the crown of life
… vs … Not overcoming >> eternal death!

“Above all, the church at Smyrna needed encouragement and strength to endure persecution.
If they remained firm to the end – to the point of death – they would receive the crown of life,
that is, eternal life (see Mark 13:13, 1 Cor 9:25, 1 Pet 5:4) … The second death mentioned here
means eternal death; it is the final punishment for all evildoers.”
… The Applied New Testament Commentary -- Thomas Hale, 1996, ChariotVictor Publishing

Please notice that there are NO crowns (plural) mentioned anywhere above!
No different crowns of varying values … re: rewards.
When it comes to the crown of life, there is only one … the crown of eternal life!

The crown of life is also called the crown of righteousness • 2 Timothy 4:7-8
The crown of life is also called the imperishable crown • 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
The crown of life is also called the crown of glory • 1 Peter 5:1-4

Revelation 3:11 (NKJV) “Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”

Definitely not Happy Holidays! … but … Merry Christmas

More of the beloved brethren are addressed here by quite an expert indeed ...

Romans 6:
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace?
Certainly not!
16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey,
you are that one’s slaves
whom you obey, whether
(slaves) of sin leading to death, or
(slaves) of obedience leading to righteousness?

19 ... so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

Translation
Paul is saying ... CHOOSE to be
(slaves) of sin leading to death, or
(slaves) of obedience leading to righteousness

True saving belief-faith is:
-- trusting in the Lord to bring you through
-- co-operation and obedience to overcome sin
-- endurance in belief-faith until the point of death

There are multitudes of NT verses which teach the above!

Stop right there and you will have it.
And whaddya do wit those multitudes of anti-OSAS NT verses sittin' there?

Answer: nuttin' ... it's the most fun just to ignore 'em, which is rejectin' 'em.

To say you people are beyond belief is the biggest understatement of the century,
which is only 16 years (not that long).

Who is worthy here at CC to do such as this below? To follow Jesus and be a disciple...

The Cost of Discipleship

25Large crowds were now traveling with Jesus, and He turned and said to them, 26“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple. 27And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.

28Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it? 29Otherwise, if he lays the foundation and is unable to finish the work, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, 30saying, ‘This man could not finish what he started to build.’

31Or what king on his way to war with another king will not first sit down and consider whether he can engage with ten thousand men the one coming against him with twenty thousand? 32And if he is unable, he will send a delegation while the other king is still far off, to ask for terms of peace.

33In the same way, any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple.

Yes, a few of you are.

There are several reasons why some so-called "believers" reject God's warnings.

And there are several reasons why some so-called "pastors" refuse to teach the Truth.
They will receive the greatest punishment re: their condemnation ...
because these false teachers are leading people astray, i.e. unto hell.

It is the job of the Holy Spirit to LEAD people (those who have Him within) unto ALL truth,
i.e. explain to them how the promises are reconciled with the warnings!

True believers with true saving faith believe and follow ALL of the NT Scripture verses.
This is what following Jesus means.
Follow it all ... or you are wasting your time!

[SUP]26 [/SUP]“If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—
your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters
—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. (NLT)

What? ... Shall we just ignore this?
No!
It's all about having the correct heart attitude:
-- Jesus is to come first in your life
-- You are to repent of your sins as best you can
-- You are to obey Jesus' commands as best you can

Brothers and sisters, we are called to be perfect (spiritually mature)!

This is all about having the correct heart attitude:
-- Jesus is to come first in your life
-- You are to repent of your sins as best you can
-- You are to obey Jesus' commands as best you can

Jesus knows we are not perfect in the world's estimation of this word.

So, instead of giving up ...
Strive to enter in through the narrow gate!
Strive to walk along the narrow path which leads to eternal life!

You people ignore/reject all kinds of NT verses
because you have been led astray by your pastors!

These false shepherds who have destroyed Jesus' sheep are headed for hell.

The reason for this horrible situation: Satan's deceptions + man's sinful flesh.
