I like to think most people, above all believers, are sensible enough to be ablle to separate what is truly useful during this age from such diversions as have been mentioned here. Even children are able to separate and strain vanities from what is useful and even needful.
Radio, then television, books, university, computers, all have influenced my living and interacting with others, but the only true Ligtht has been from the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and my true support in the Way called Jesus Yeshua.

It seems the Internet has brought out the villain of mankind, and this is the most serious threat of our time. Actually I say threat, however it too serves for realizing all the is in the Word about our times.

Jesus said, "Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean'" (Mark 7:15)

A TV is not a sin, it's an electronic device, a mere object. Objects aren't sins; thoughts and actions are. Watching TV may or may not be a sin for a particular person.
In our daily prayer we are to ask for our daily bread. God is spirit, and God wants our bodies to be taken care of but what we feed our minds and heart is more important to God than what is eliminated by our bodies. TV, books about lust and killing, media promoting worldly ways are not eliminated, they remain with us. We are to follow the dietary laws with our heart, even though the earthly dietary laws were replaced by Christ.

Paul said the love of money is the root of all evil and that is because it neglects the poor and needy which love is the fufilling of the law.

What is more important spending money on television, music, computer games, and entertainment, or feeding and clothing the poor and needy.

And a lot of people who claim Christ enjoy entertainment that has sinful scenarios about it.

That is what it means by the kingdom of heaven being our true nation and has our first loyalty and living in the kingdoms of the world as our true nation is all about.

The kingdom of heaven is about mansions in heaven and still deep waters here on earth, the kingdoms of the world are about instant gratification and excitement. It is about feeding the needs of our lusts instead of feeding the needs of our soul and our future life with the Lord. It is about faith in the future as opposed to faith in the immediate and temporary here and now.

The kingdom of heaven is not an easy kingdom for the flesh to have as a first loyalty with absolute faith in it.

Romans 1:28-32
King James Version

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

1 Peter 4:1-4

King James Version

4 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

I agree with this 100%. People become very offended by this ( and we know offense is the bait of Satan) because they don't want to stop the sin they are doing. Hard truth!

After God gave me the Holy Spirit, by read the 10 commandments, I found proof that TV, movies, watching sports (violence like football, covet their lives and they are idols), novels, music, video games and computer games are all sins, except Christian stuff that don’t have sins like sermons and Christian music words that gives messages. I found out that in them there is lying, stealing, adultery (Matthew 5:28 looking at someone with lust is adultery), fornication which is sex before marriage, revenge, murder, jealousy, pride=self-pity, hypocrisy, using God’s name in vain as a curse word, they are all idols (breaks 2nd Commandment) because most people can’t live without them and they love them more than God and more. Just read the 10 commandments for a list. You must remove all sources of sin.

Can't say as I agree with this position. I spend all day focused on the Lord and serving Him, and I need things to enjoy to take a break from time to time. So I play some video games or watch football, or a movie with my wife when I need a break from my spiritual work. If I didn't have those things, I would be bored during my down times, and not refreshed by anything enjoyable. Instead, I have some fun things to do when I can take a break from serving God.

I would say "use the things of this world as not abusing them" applies here. They can be useful to a spiritual man, but they can be spiritually dangerous to a carnal one, including many carnal Christians.

God bless,

I had no idea that we "need a break" serving the Lord. I will be asking the church elders about this...

The true gospel is for everyone to find out if they one of God's elect or one of the nonelect.

If you find out you are one of God's elect, pray to God for everything=God will causes events to happen to answer your prayers.

If you find you are nonelect, forget everything to do with God and enjoy a normal life as you can.

Bottom info is from https://www.gotquestions.org/calvinism.html

Total Depravity - As a result of Adam’s fall, the entire human race is affected; all humanity is dead in trespasses and sins. Man is unable to save himself (Genesis 6:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10-18).

Unconditional Election - Because man is dead in sin, he is unable to initiate a response to God; therefore, in eternity past God elected certain people to salvation. Election and predestination are unconditional; they are not based on man’s response (Romans 8:29-30;9:11; Ephesians 1:4-6, 11-12) because man is unable to respond, nor does he want to.

Limited Atonement - Because God determined that certain ones should be saved as a result of God’s unconditional election, He determined that Christ should die for the elect alone. All whom God has elected and for whom Christ died will be saved (Matthew 1:21; John 10:11; 17:9; Acts 20:28; Romans 8:32; Ephesians 5:25).

Irresistible Grace - Those whom God elected He draws to Himself through irresistible grace. God makes man willing to come to Him. When God calls, man responds (John 6:37, 44; 10:16).

Perseverance of the Saints - The precise ones God has elected and drawn to Himself through the Holy Spirit will persevere in faith. None whom God has elected will be lost; they are eternally secure (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 1:3-14).

Can you elaborate more on what you mean by this?
God causes events to happen to find pieces of information, where I glued them together.
1. After God gave me the Holy Spirit, I found John 14:26-27 and Philippians 4:7. Holy Spirit is the permanent cure to boredom (Proof: John 14:26-27 and Philippians 4:7) but it’s only given to God’s elects. This is supernatural.
Before receiving the Holy Spirit=Not understanding the bible (1 Corinthians 2:14) to After receiving the Holy Spirit=understanding the bible (2 Corinthians 3:14-18)

2. Than I stumble upon Christian videos, websites that each connect to different bible verses.

----------------------------------------------------------

1 John 2:15 King James Version (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

There are a bunch of excuses people use just so they can justify their sins.

We are called to be good stewards over what God has blessed us with.
I cannot controll what comes over the air waves but I can control what I chose to watch and listen to.
Competitive sports have always been a source of entertainment for ages from the javelin toss to football no harm no foul. In fact some sport greats have declared their victory was by the hand of God and have made many statements of faith.
If you have convictions about these things then best you heed them.
Sin crouches at every door we open, every where we look, but the word of the Lord lights the path we are to take.
We are in this world but not of it.

Sitting near me at a restaurant was a family of seven, all ages. They were all so poised and quietly enjoying themselves. I am used to children who are constantly excited, scuffling, and anything but calm. I introduced myself and asked what they did that was different that the children were so poised. They told me it was because they did not allow TV in their homes, never went to movies.

A woman whose education centered on children explained to me that even the programs that are educational for children were based on excitement. She limited even these programs for her children.

As scientist learn more about the human mind, they find that there is some memory from the first days of a child's life. We develop filters as we mature but toddlers haven't developed the filters yet, and some children are not guided and taught. If TV baby sits them, as so often happens, think of the input of some of these programs.
