Lev 19:19

Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind:thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.

YOu most likely have seen me post the above post before relating it to theparable of the Sower, but it is always nice to share. As for the repeated mystery being revealed to all who will receive it, it is that One Seed sowed by the Good Sower, amen.

Romans 16:25-27
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
[SUP]26 [/SUP]But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
[SUP]27 [/SUP]To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

Ephesians 6:19-20
[SUP]19 [/SUP]And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
[SUP]20 [/SUP]For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

It is a beautiful thing that the mystery was first revealed to the 12 disciples when Jesus taught the parable of the sower and the seed, comparing the seed to the word, and the ground to the trusting, prepared heart. It is my favorite parable, for I was raised on a 240 acre farm. Springtime is my favorite time of year, watching God do His handy-work by causing the seed to sprout in the ground relating that to the word in the heart of the believer through Christ first.

"And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:" (Mark 4:10-11)

"And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given." (Matthew 13:10-11)

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)

Ephesians. 3:1-4
1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, [SUP]2 [/SUP]If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
[SUP]3 [/SUP]How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

Paul didn't explain the mystery in another letter or epistle. He is referring to Ephesians 1:6-9, previously written in the same letter.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

The prophecy of this mystery is written in Isaiah chapter 53. This ancient prophecy unveils how the suffering of an unnamed “servant” hero brings healing to the world.
Paul is not speaking of Isaiah 53 for that is revelation that was revealed previously, previously made known in the gospel remission and forgiveness of sins. The mystery [secret] Paul is speaking of "was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit of God's holy apostles and prophets. THIS MYSTERY is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus." [aka, the new birth where there is neither Jew nor Gentile but all are members of one body, the body of Christ] Only made known for and to those in the administration [dispensation] of grace.

I [Paul] have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness -- the mystery [secret] that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is NOW discloed to the Lord's people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this myster, which is Christ in you the hope of glory . . . Col. 1:25-27 Christ in you - making Gentiles heirs together with Israel, members together of one body and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus . . . hidden for long ages past, but NOW revealed [Rom. 16:25] not made known to people in other generations [Eph. 3:5]

I'm not going to put words in his mouth, but what I think he was trying to say is that Yeshua was using the scriptures from the OT as authority over the enemy. Which in healing ministries I've been to, I've seen that done before. So if quote scripture from the OT is healing, then how can it be void?
OT scripture is not void. Just the idea that you have to work at it is taken away in Christ. It is in fact the opposite. If you work at the OT you have fallen from grace and you are under the curse.

Hebrews 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Galatians 3:24-25
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [SUP]25 [/SUP]But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Can a person say, spiritually, that working at the OT is the intent of the Law? NO. No way.

So then why go back to it? Because you lack spiritual understanding.

Hebrews 7:18-19

[SUP]18 [/SUP]For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

How can you lack this fundamental understanding? Its the very starting point of Christianity.

Can your understanding of the law or Torah cause any of your own spiritual growth in Christ? No. Its the opposite. Your spiritual growth in Christ will give you an understanding of the law and Torah.

I love you guys but you've stumbled over that very first hurdle.

What blessings do you have that aren't freely given? Why not point people to the One who gives these blessings, the Lord Jesus Christ, and let Him give understanding, wisdom and knowledge?

Or do you just not know your supposed to?

Thank God for the Lord Jesus Christ who will open our understanding if we come to Him.

Paul is implying of himself that he is "to make known the mystery of the gospel."

I never implied that. The mystery of the Gospel (god news) is what Paul is saying. The Gospel was a mystery in the past, and now it is revealed. The Gospel doesn't reveal a mystery, the Gospel was the mystery that was previous to the coming of Jesus Christ, to the "believing" Jew first, and then to the Gentile afterwards.

Jesus said to His disciples "Unto you it is given to know the mystery."
I believe Jesus said - Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: (Mark 4:11)

He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 13:11)

It is implied when you keep saying that it was made known before - when in Romans, and Ephesians - it specifically says that the mystery Paul is talking about it "was hidden fro long ages past but now revealed and made known" . . . "was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets". . and "which for ages past was kept hidden in God."

But Jesus said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished" Matthew 5:17-18

Jesus was talking about the entire Old Testament — the Law and the Prophets. So how can his statement be reconciled with the fact that some commands of the Old Testament are not required today? Perhaps the best approach to explain this is to understand that the laws are valid in their intent, but changed in their application. Laws about sacrifice continue to be valid, but we obey them through faith in Jesus Christ, who was sacrificed for us. The law required sacrifice, and Jesus confirmed its validity at the same time as he made it unnecessary for us to perform it.
I go back to Matthew 5 often, but very few people are willing to really address it, instead choosing to look at Paul's words. While Paul's words certainly have merit and are inspired by God, our interpretation of his words regarding the Law MUST fit in line with:
1) God's instructions when giving the actual Law and
2) Jesus' words about the Law

in that order.

The amazing thing is that Paul's words DO match God/Jesus'. We just need to study them all in proper order.

The reason I mentioned Isaiah was that it was/is the prophecy of the coming Messiah who would reveal the mystery of the Gospel.

There is a falsehood that is propagated today using this scripture. The falsehood is that this is the instance where the mystery was received that Paul was to deliver to the Gentiles. This scripture clearly doesn't relate to the mystery, for what Paul heard (if he is speaking of himself, [big if]) was unlawful to utter.
2 Corinthians 12:2-4
2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth, such an one caught up to the third heaven.
3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth,
4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

In research, this letter to the Corinthians was written about nineteen years after Paul's conversion. That means that this scripture is falsely used trying to prove a false premise. That falsehood is that Paul's witness was minus the revelation of the mystery five years before it was revealed to him.

Paul's conversion was in 37 AD, and this above scripture was in a letter written in 56 AD. 56 minus 14 (verse 2) = 42 AD, being 5 years after Paul's conversion.

As the disciples of Jesus, Paul was also a Jew, him being of the tribe of Benjamin. Jesus revealed the mystery of the Gospel to His 12 disciples in relation to the parable of the sower and the seed. This was very close to the years 29 to 32 AD or possibly a year earlier. It was at least four years before Paul's conversion that the mystery of the Gospel was revealed. In either case, Jesus is the One who revealed the mystery of the Gospel.

The Holy Spirit was also given to reveal the mystery through the gift of divers languages during Pentecost. This was at the latest in 33 AD, 3 to 4 years before Paul's conversion.

Hi there, I'll keep my question brief.

There are many laws in the Old Testament, how do we differentiate between the laws we follow, and those we do not?

i.e. Wearing Mixed Fibers etc.

Any answers from scripture will be very helpful,

Matthew.
Basically just keep the commandments only thing different now is no more sacrifices simple question simple answer

A simple reading of Ephesians 3 explains that the mystery was the Gospel of Christ and was not easily understood by the people living then.
1 It is a consequence of this that I, Paul, am a prisoner of the Messiah Yeshua on behalf of you Gentiles.
2 I assume that you have heard of the work God in his grace has given me to do for your benefit,
3 and that it was by a revelation that this secret plan was made known to me. I have already written about it briefly,
4 and if you read what I have written, you will grasp how I understand this secret plan concerning the Messiah.
5 In past generations it was not made known to mankind, as the Spirit is now revealing it to his emissaries and prophets,
6 that in union with the Messiah and through the Good News the Gentiles were to be joint heirs, a joint body and joint sharers with the Jews in what God has promised.
7 I became a servant of this Good News by God's gracious gift, which he gave me through the operation of his power.
8 To me, the least important of all God's holy people, was given this privilege of announcing to the Gentiles the Good News of the Messiah's unfathomable riches,
9 and of letting everyone see how this secret plan is going to work out. This plan, kept hidden for ages by God, the Creator of everything,
10 is for the rulers and authorities in heaven to learn, through the existence of the Messianic Community, how many-sided God's wisdom is.
11 This accords with God's age-old purpose, accomplished in the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.
12 In union with him, through his faithfulness, we have boldness and confidence when we approach God.
13 So I ask you not to be discouraged by the troubles I endure on your behalf - it is all for your glory.
14 For this reason, I fall on my knees before the Father,
15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its character.
16 I pray that from the treasures of his glory he will empower you with inner strength by his Spirit,
17 so that the Messiah may live in your hearts through your trusting. Also I pray that you will be rooted and founded in love,
18 so that you, with all God's people, will be given strength to grasp the breadth, length, height and depth of the Messiah's love,
19 yes, to know it, even though it is beyond all knowing, so that you will be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who by his power working in us is able to do far beyond anything we can ask or imagine,
21 to him be glory in the Messianic Community and in the Messiah Yeshua from generation to generation forever. Amen.

I believe Jesus said - Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: (Mark 4:11)

It was not revealed until Christ's ministry. Jesus revealed it first to His disciples. I haven't indicated anything different in 3 posts that I've made. (smile)

The third time is the charm. :)

Just as it is unnecessary to perform any of the Mosaic regulations because he fulfilled (accomplished, completed, finished) them all just as he finished the sacrifices.

It's not complicated. . .(Mt 22:40).

Elin said:
If you do not teach that the church does not know the mystery of Christ.
Good morning from here.

No man knows all about God. As for He not being a Mystery. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are One. This is one of the first things Jesus said to th e Jews. Come the Kingdom He will reveal Himself fully. When people say Trinity, I understand they intend to say the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, but explaining how theya re ONe yet manifest in Three Persons is beyond the understandin g of man in this age. However, Elin, if you understand it, explain please, in plain words, without illustrations. I believe God is One by faith, yet I pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, by His Holy Spirit.

Of ocurse I believe I understand some things about this Mystery, but I would never pretend to insist others even hear me on this matter. I am content to have faith in God, and wait for His revelation of Himself. God bless you,,.
The mystery (previously unrevealed) of Christ has been given to the church (Eph 3:4).

I think we are agreed that the gospel was preached to Israel, who rejected it, and so it was taken to the Gentiles.

So much for being "first". . .more subtle diversion from true gospel to false gospel. . .

It's not about who is "first," it's about who believes.

Paul is implying of himself that he is "to make known the mystery of the gospel."

I never implied that. The mystery of the Gospel (god news) is what Paul is saying. The Gospel was a mystery in the past, and now it is revealed.
The Gospel doesn't reveal a mystery, the Gospel was the mystery
More subtle diversion from true gospel to false gospel. . .

God reveals the (previously unrevealed) mystery of the gospel by his apostles, through the NT writers.

And the gospel does "reveal a mystery," many mysteries, Jesus Christ being one of them.

that was previous to the coming of Jesus Christ, to the "believing" Jew first, and then to the Gentile afterwards.
You're rewriting Scripture. . .it was given to all the Jews, and was rejected.

Jesus said to His disciples "Unto you it is given to know the mystery."
Too bad his believing disciples didn't represent all Israel.

The mystery referes to the Gospel of Christ, right?

The mystery (previously unrevealed) of Christ has been given to the church (Eph 3:4).

Please look to the Light, Jesus, when He elaborates on the law with the parable of the Sower........ The reference in Leviticus dos not forshadow, with the veil of Moses removed, it is saying the same as the Prable.
