although I recall widows had to be over 60 to receive help from the church, it is said.
There were also some other requirements but I remember that one.

1 Timothy 5:9

if you want to look it up

In any case 120 years is a good length of time for us to live on earth so you cant say God was being stingy. He could have said I'll only give you 60 years.

whatever

I am not like you
I understand it in a different way...God means what He says and says what He means. When He says 'my spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he is also flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years'

He was referring to men at the time. He was not saying 'dear reader skip to the last part of the Bible and infer everything back to it'

but isnt it interesting that nobody these days is living past 120 years in the flesh. No? well you kinda missing the point then.
A French woman, named Jeanne Louise Calment was born in 1875 and died in 1997. She lived for 122 years.

I think she is the Guinness world records holder.

I once read a book where the author interviewed everyone she could find in the country that was over 100 years old. It was kinda interesting to read about their take on life. I think some just avoided extremes and situations where one could die....?!

In my time in different churches, have been to many church funerals, but I dont recall anyone reaching past 100.
I think most were in their 80s though Ive heard of some in their 90s and people werent too sad because they'd lived a long life.

I also know of a few ladies who'd had stillbirths and sadly their babies never had a chance at life on earth. Or only a day or so. Its really tough on the mother cos they are the only ones who really knew that soul as they were carrying the baby inside them. Often they dont even get to have a funeral/burial.

anyway. I dont know how people really feel about outliving eveyrone else cos I recall one church lady was despondant that all her old friends were dying and she was the only one left (in her circle of friends) in her 80s but thing is I think you ought to make friends of all ages not just your own age.
