1st Trumpet: A third of the earth is burnt up

2nd Trumpet: A third of the creatures in the sea die and third of the ships are destroyed

3rd Trumpet: A third of the fresh water is contaminated and many people die from drinking it

4th Trumpet: The sun, moon and stars are darkened by a third

5th Trumpet/1st woe: Demonic beings let out of the Abyss to torment with stings like scropions

6th Trumpet/2nd woe: Four angels and their army of 200 million kill a third of the inhabitants of the earth

7th Trumpet/3rd woe: Satan and his angels thrown to the earth

So ...................... nope, hasn't happened yet!

I have read that the 3rd trumpet may relate to the Chernobyl disaster in the 1980s, as Chernobyl is Ukranian word for Wormwood...which did contaminate the water and killed the many people who drank it.
Also that Saddam means Destroyer in Persian, and he was responsible for burning a whole lot of oil, resulting in plumes of dark smoke which did indeed block out the light of the stars etc....Is this not prophecy fullfilled?

Hi ElectricDreams,

The trumpet judgments, like the seals and bowls, will take place just as you read them in the scripture. Although metaphors are used, there is no reason to apply a symbolic meaning to them. This is the coming wrath of God and will therefore take place just as they are written, with the given results.

It would be arrogant to say that some of the trumpets have not sounded. 'The earth' in John's mind was the inhabited earth that he knew. We do not have sufficient knowledge of history to deny that such catastrophes occurred in that area. An asteroid my well have affected the earth. Nor can we dogmatically say that evil spirits have not been released on the earth in abundance. History has been full of catastrophes of which we know little or nothing. Only arrogant dogmatists say otherwise (but there are some of those on here as you will find out)

Believe me Valiant, you would know if those demonic beings had been released from the Abyss. Furthermore, you don't require a knowledge of history regarding something that hasn't happened yet. It is because you do not understand the magnitude of the wrath that is coming and its purpose that you misinterpret the scriptures. So when you begin to literally experience these things, then think back on this conversation.

well that's actually not quite true demonic beings like angels are spiritual beings meaning they cannot be seen with naked eye, I would not be surprised if demonic beings roamed the earth in plain sight but are not seen. However I do not believe that the trumpets have been sounded yet I am merely saying that we cannot assume that demonic beings haven't been released upon the world

An entire book of the Bible, which is full of symbols, and you for some unknown reason choose to make them literal? Literalists prove that they do not understand genre, nor biblical prophecy, when they decide to make Revelation literal, instead of the symbolism which it was TO THE FIRST CENTURY CHRISTIANS like it was intended!

Sheesh!

The most important sequence of events to watch are given with the last 3 trumpet-woe periods.

The 5th trumpet is the timeframe when the tribulation is just getting started.

The 6th trumpet is when the coming pseudo-Christ will appear, and sit in a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, placing the abomination idol that makes desolate.

The 7th trumpet is the time of our Lord Jesus' second coming on the "day of the Lord".

Each one of those last three trumpets have a Woe attached to them, which is to emphasize them in their importance.

The 5th trumpet is when the locusts are loosed upon the earth, and the Book of Joel tells us what those locusts are and what they do to God's people. That point is where I see prophecy right now. Be-headings have already begun, and the locusts, which represent the beast's power structure gaining over all nations and people, is almost complete.

The next event I see is another major war in the middle east in order to present a great contrast for the later world peace that Satan's host plan for all nations, with false messiah's reign at Jerusalem. That is when the peace pact (or "league" per Dan.11) will be made in Jerusalem, with the first half of Daniel's "one week" beginning. I believe that is when the Jews will be given the go ahead to build their temple and re-institute the old covenant worship again in Jerusalem in that first 1260 days period.

Then in the middle of the "one week", the pseudo-Christ will setup the "abomination of desolation" idol in their temple, and require all to bow in worship to him (see end of Rev.13). That will begin the last 1260 days of Daniel's "one week" with God's two witnesses showing up in Jerusalem to prophesy against it. The majority of the world will be fooled by that false one, thinking he truly is God (2 Thess.2:4; Matt.24:23-26). Jesus told us to not believe it.

Hi Angela,

What makes more sense, to believe what is plainly written or to haphazardly assign symbolism to things that are meant to be taken literally? I've said it before, the main reason for people not understanding the book of Revelation and end-time events, is because they don't understand the literality and magnitude of the wrath that is coming and they have been swayed by false teachings. These events that are coming are not something that can just go by unnoticed in history, but as scripture states, are meant to decimate the population of the earth and to dismantle all human government in preparation for Christ's return to end the age and establish his kingdom.

Regarding end-time events, the wrath of God, the day of the Lord, you and others seem to feel that God was not able to write those events for a future time and thereby try to fulfill them by applying them some historical event. The fact is that, God has prophesied about other events that were future from the time that they were given such as Isa.7:14, the latter being prophesied over 700 years before Christ fulfilled it by coming into the world. Based on how you and others are interpreting these events, if you were back during that time, would you be interpreting it the same way as you are now? Would you assign some historical fulfillment to Isa.7:14, instead of looking for the literal fulfillment?

I have been studying this stuff for over 40 years, I know what I am talking about when it comes to eschatology. What is frustrating about this is that, the people who haven't studied it or have partially studied it or just go by what they've heard, attempt to correct me and reject what I am saying instead of benefitting from the years of information and the revealing from the Holy Spirit.

The seals, trumpets and bowl judgments are the fulfillment of the "Day of the Lord" prophesied by both OT and NT saints and is yet to be fulfilled. It will not begin until that 1st seal is opened which is when that ruler/antichrist comes and makes that seven year covenant, which initiates that last seven years. After that, the rest of the seals will follow, then the trumpets and finally the bowl judgments, with Christ physically and visually returning to the earth sometime soon after the seventh bowl has been poured out. That being said, those devastating events of the seals, trumpets and bowls, are going to take place just as they are written and are going to fulfill the following:

"I will sweep away everything from the face of the earth, When I destroy all mankind on the face of the earth, declares the Lord. I will sweep away both man and beast; I will sweep away the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea—and the idols that cause the wicked to stumble. When I destroy all mankind on the face of the earth" (Zeph.1:1-3)

"I will make mankind scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir." (Isa.13:12)

Well that's not actually true either. For one, John is seeing them and two, demonic beings as fallen angels, can take on any form they desire. And the fact that they are described as having something like lions teeth, like women's hair, faces that resemble human faces and something like crowns of gold on their heads, would give the impression that they will in fact be visible. If God wants them to be seen, then they will be seen. Either way, visible or invisible, they are going to do what they are commanded to do, which is to torment the inhabitants of the earth with stings like that of scorpions for five months. People will try to kill themselves to escape the torment, but scripture states that death will flee away and will not be found. Also, we know that they are literal demonic beings/fallen angels and that because scripture states for one that, they come up out of the Abyss and two, they have a king over them, the angel of the Abyss.

Hi Marian,

Actually, the seven trumpets are followed by the seven bowl judgments, which complete God's wrath (Rev.15:1). Also, we know that when Jesus returns to the earth to end the age and establish his kingdom, it will not be until after the 7th bowl has been poured out as can be demonstrated from his interjection after the 6th bowl is poured out:

"“Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”

The fact that Jesus is announcing the above after the 6th bowl has been poured out would demonstrate that he will not have returned by that time.

7 seals are opened, then 7 trumpets are blown, then 7 vials are poured out. Exactly as Scriptures teaches.
Scriptures reveals that the 7 vials are poured out AFTER the 7th Trumpet is blown. Consider:

Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Rev 11:16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
Rev 11:17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
Rev 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Rev 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

When was the Temple of God opened in Heaven? at the 7th Trumpet. And According to Scriptures what happens when the Temple of God is opened.

Rev 15:5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:
Rev 15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

There you have it. Scriptures reveal that at the 7th Trumpet the Temple is opened in Heaven, then when it is opened is when the 7 last plagues are released which are the 7 vials. Believe the Word of God, NOT what men teach. Therefore the vials are poured out AFTER the Temple in Heaven is opened, and the Temple in Heaven is opened at the 7th Trumpet. Therefore the 7 Trumpets will sound, then AFTER that the 7 vials our poured out upon the Earth. Change your belief to match Scriptures, do NOT change Scriptures to match your belief.

Right on!

"Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later."

And, chapter 4 onward represents the "what must take place later" that is, what must take place after the church period which is the "Now."
