pharisees were the mainstream group, that put their own doctrines equal to laws of the Father.
Actually the Pharisees were very much a minority group in Judaism. They numbered only 7000. But they had great self-belief like you.
i would rather put my faith in what Jesus taught, seek and knock, lead by the spirit, than put my faith in councils of man and the group. i dont remember Jesus teaching one of them.
