You disciple a person and show him how to walk like Christ.
You sound like the pharisee who knows the words but not how to do them.

It is hypocritical to criticise someone who desires to walk like Christ, and then
say that is our discipleship goal. You are just a two faced blind teacher
who knows the words but not how to apply them.

Funny how EG you have not learnt this

1. That post was about trying to bring someone who does not know Christ to Christ, Not professed believers,

2. Its ok peter. Move on.. Like I said, I will leave you alone except to show a different view if I disagree with you. And like I said, If you slander someone I will report..

You no longer need it try to defend yourself. and do not have to worry, if you do not slander anyone, I will have nothing to say..

Nope, like I already showed by multitudes of scripture when you are born again of the Spirit the old things pass away, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Of course, if you guys are still in Adam, then you will still be struggling with sin. If this is the case, and you have not fallen away, then you can still be born again in the future, so it's not hopeless. :)

I think this is oversimplifying what actually occurs and how He purges us. It sounds like you are saying it happens all at once that we stop sinning. It's not instantaneous. We struggle for a while but keep hoping in His promises and struggling because there is an actual war going on in us.

Hello PeterJens,
There is a difference between willfully living according to the sinful nature vs. the sins we commit while we are walking in Christ. The scripture that you are describing above is in regards to the person who is not resisting the sinful nature, but is willfully giving into it, living in the same way that they did prior to coming to Christ. The true believer in Christ is fighting against that sinful nature, but is still has sin, because of that sinful nature. The two are contrary to one another, the flesh warring against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh. The following means exactly what it is saying regardless of how anyone wants to twist its meaning:

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
Sorry Ahwatukee. EG was criticising or I should say correcting ISIT claiming he was miss-quoting
scripture, which said commit sins rather than just sins.

This was just stupid and incorrect point, but appeared like he had caught someone lying.
So I was paying zero attention to the theology or point itself just this criticism.

I do agree with your point though, Amen. I have to add more descriptive text next time.

The spiritual rebirth is instantaneous, but yes a fight will ensue right away after being illuminated. I also made a post on that as well here---->>>>

Some people may not understand the great spiritual battle that is, and has been ongoing for thousands of years now. But for each new individual believer and born again Christian there is a personal battle that is to be waged and won, if one is willing to fight the good fight of faith.

This battle between the mind of flesh and Spirit of God is the enmity that was shown in the very beginning, but this personal battle ground for each new believer takes place in the heart and mind after first being illuminated by the Spirit of God. It is written Hebrews 10:32 “But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;”

This battle against the saints by the Devil and his spirit is shown many times in scripture, and many of the saints were also prophesied to be overcome. Revelation 13:7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” But some also would hold fast and endure unto the end, and be overcomers by the power given to them by God, and by the faith of Jesus Christ.

This spiritual battle and war that wars against the soul is mentioned several times in scripture.

Ephesians 6:12
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Romans 7:23
“But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”

James 4:1
“From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?”

1 Peter 2:11
“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

2 Corinthians 10:3
-5 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:[SUP]4 [/SUP](For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)[SUP] 5 [/SUP]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

When a person is born again of God’s Spirit we are empowered by God to be able to resist sin, resist the Devil, and resist the wicked ways of the world, and even to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. But this war and battle takes some effort on each believer’s part, as personal sacrifices need be made to overcome all these things.

Remember….

1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

The Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin, does the Spirit have sin? Jesus and his disciples reproved sinners, do you think Jesus had sin in his life? And do you think the Devil and his disciples would reprove sinners so that they might be saved? :)
I see. Is this what you're doing ... reproving sinners ? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. But He who was without sin didn't condemn, .. did He ? But it's your job to now, right ? Speak of God's love, forgiveness and mercy in Christ. And leave the rest to God who is able to finish what He started in us.

At the end of pauls life, He said he still ran the race, Because he had not yet attained perfection.

This battle as you call it, will go on for some sins until we either deny they are sins, or wake up in heaven.

People do not mature the same, Paul called the Corinthian church babes in Christ, because they were struggling with some pretty deep sin, even allowing it in their midst..

It is dangerous to assume that just because a man has not matured when we expect them to. means they are not a child of God.

Then do the same and extend mercy to those in need of mercy .. and forgiveness to those in need of forgiveness. Love covers a multitude of sins. We love Him because He first loved us ... even when our sins remained. You seek the lost ? Point them to the cross of Jesus Christ in gentleness, patience and understanding.

You have such a god complex it goes beyond description. Jesus welcomes us, (Matthew 11:28-30) whereas you rebuke people who understand their place with God, you call people simple minded, refuse to answer questions, and post pictures of hitler thinking it's funny. Im beginning to question who it is you truly serve, God or the devil. If one must ask then it proves your fruit is seriously lacking that which God desires.

Move on. You spent a fare section of this thread saying I had sinned and refused
to repent, a serious issue for any believer. When confronted you refused to say
what you meant, was totally obtuse, insinuating I have guilt and caused great harm.

Turns out this is your attempt to convert me, and say I am a sinner saved by grace.
So this abuse is meant to be a way of witnessing. No apology, when I asked what
the issue was between us, no reconciliation, in fact just condemnation and rejection.

Then you decide to lay into another about how to witness and encourage a disciple
to be like Christ.

This is not the behaviour of someone lead by the Holy Spirit only by someone walking
in their flesh and sin. And as such I expect nothing from you, because I know what you
are.

Okay so now you have gotten what you wanted from him and the days long war can end because you now have something to accuse him with. Can we move on now and not be held captive to your continued campaign to get this man to see his grievous sins?

Sorry EG, your behaviour goes ahead of you. Swearing at me declares the true state of
your heart.

By the way accusing people of sinning specifically and then producing anything is slander.
I have no clue why you even think this makes any sense.

If you tried not to put people in their place so much you would not get into so much trouble.
When you preach about sin, you need to actually no how to make contact with someone
and they understand what sinful behaviour you are talking about and what the right response
is. Talking to a believer and in effect calling them unsaved is judgemental behaviour and sinful

But hey, to you being obedient to Christ is unbelief so I need to repent of my obedience to Christ
and following His words.

This is why you are neither guided by Lord or know what you are meaning.

His doctrine belies the 2nd in your list above.......

To deny the power of Christ and the work of Christ and the Spirit on one's behalf while ADDING to the finished work of Jesus is the devil's message.....the Pharisees preached a faith/works blended self righteousness and Jesus rightfully condemned it as false, so did Paul......A gospel of a DIFFERENT kind with NO POWER to save and double cursed.........

WORKS DO NOT SAVE or KEEP SAVED........

END OF STORY!
