The answer is simple enough.

He thought he was saved by all the things he does that are good.

Just like you.

After he got tired of keeping himself saved it was easier to say he didn't believe rather than say he couldn't do it.

What a person can stop believing in is theories. Like the theory evolution. The theory of global warming. You can believe in those and then find compelling evidence to change your mind.

If God was only a theory then stopping belief in Him is possible.

When God becomes Real to a person it is not possible to stop believing.

Excellent summation, Thanks Grandpa!

There is nothing in the "context" to imply such a thing. Onefaith is pointing out the cause (if you) and the response (no longer). The cause and response refer to the "after we have received the knowledge of the truth". The writer is saying that in the possible event of apostasy the person who abandons their faith has abandoned the only sacrifice for sins.

This verse is not speaking of the ending of animal sacrifices, its a warning to not stray from the truth.

No what she did was take a verse out of context. Of course, You can not believe this, because it would throw your legalism under the table and you would have to admit error.

Sadly the warning is for people like you. People who think they have begun in the spirit, but now perfect your salvation in the flesh (works) paul has a term for people like you.

In Hebrews 10:26, To "sin willfully" in the Greek carries the idea of deliberate intention that is habitual, which stems from rejecting Christ deliberately. This is CONTINUOUS ACTION - A MATTER OF PRACTICE. Now we don't walk along our daily life and "accidentally" fall into a pit called sin. We exercise our will but, the use of the participle clearly shows a CONTINUOUS ACTION.

*The unrighteous practice sin (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21); not the righteous, who are born of God (1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 John 3:9).

Amen, going back to law is going back to willful habitual sin against the gospel of Christ. And it frees you up to do the worldly sins you were doing before you claimed to have faith in christ

if the gift of faith that Christ gives to his elect, Romans 10:17, Philippians 1:29, Romans 12:3; Ephesians 1:19; Acts 3:16 &c begins to short out resulting in me not believing any more, then to hell I go. So it's all up to me to maintain the gift of faith he gave me and try really really hard all the time to make sure I still believe and then it's all good, I did it, I mean HE did it (oooops) and I get to go to heaven... :p
God gives the faith to believe, and it's up to us to accept it or reject it. But God will certainly help the believer to stay in the faith who wants to stay in the faith.

"they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, 22strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”"-Acts 14:21-22

God didn't make us robots. We still have the free will to continue to rely on his free gift of faith for salvation or not. And thankfully, God is a good Father and is always there to help and encourage us persevere to the very end in our believing.

...and so that must happen for everybody with no exceptions.

I hope that's not what you're saying.
If you are saved, there is no exception.

Jesus STILL doesn't unsave those he saved.

I believe you saw the text clearly, all right.

That's why you stopped at V26.

26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.29How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[SUP]d[/SUP] and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”[SUP]e[/SUP]31It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

This is written to saved Jews, warning them about going back to the Law.

NO EPISTLE is written to sinners.

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)
Saved Hebrews
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Us - The body of Christ
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Can't forsake something you never did. Therefore, saved Hebrews
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Short Definition: I receive, take
Definition: (a) I receive, get, (b) I take, lay hold of.
HELPS Word-studies
2983 lambánō (from the primitive root, lab-, meaning "actively lay hold of to take or receive," see NAS dictionary) – properly, to lay hold by aggressively (actively) accepting what is available (offered). 2983 /lambánō ("accept with initiative") emphasizes the volition (assertiveness) of the receiver.

These Hebrews had already taken hold of salvation, proving the subject was about going back to the Law, which would be willful rebellion from God. Paul gave the same warnings to the Galatians.(ch 3)

Now, about your 'recent' conversion to OSAS. I suggest you weren't converted recently at all, because your writing methods reveals a seasoned convert knowing full well what he's doing by using eisegesis to twist this to unsaved Hebrews.

Either that, or yer being coached.

Your earlier writings didn't show any real knowledge at all. AAMF, you constantly mentioned how you were new in all this.

And now, within months, yer a seasoned OSAS writer?

2+2 doesn't equal 4 in this charade.
Curious. Do you tremble that you are the very thing you argue against?

29How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Because 2 + 2 does equal 4.

All the CRAP i heard growing up. And how if we do not live up to some standard, we must not be saved.
But that is what the Bible says. You can not 'live like this' in the passage below and be saved. It's that simple.

"The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."-Galatians 5:19-21

Don't change the Bible just because you don't believe it, or you were taught wrong as to what constitutes the behavior and lifestyle of the saved person.

Nobody is wrong for sharing the passage above to another person. It says what it says, and it means what it says. You can not live in the flesh and be saved. It's that simple. Turn people away from destruction. Warn them that they can not live in sin and be saved at the same time. There is no exemption from the truth above. Grace is not a license that makes it so you can 'live like this' and still be saved. Grace is your license to NOT live like this and be saved.

If you are saved, there is no exception.

Jesus STILL doesn't unsave those he saved.
The person who lives in sin will not be saved when Jesus comes back. Doesn't matter if they were never saved to begin with, or if they stopped believing. They will be lost when Jesus comes back. That's the truth that we need to focus on. Once saved always saved is a demonic distraction from that profound yet simple truth.

Hebrews 10
_____________

if you can see the context clearly this isnt about saved believers losing salvation...it instruction to the Jews ......
Hello NNM,

So in your view....

Hebrews 10
26,
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
27,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Does not really mean that if we continue in KNOWN SIN we will be lost?

1. So in your view if someone who professes to be a Christian and is living a life of KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN is in a saved state before God

How do you explain the scriptures that disagree with you (this is only a few from each section).

Eze 18:4

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: THE SOUL THAT SINS, IT SHALL DIE.

Eze 18:20
THE SOUL THAT SINS, IT SHALL DIE. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him.

James 5
19,
My brothers, IF ANY AMONG YOU WANDERS FROM THE TRUTH AND SOMEONE BRINGS HIM BACK, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

Romans 6
23,
For THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 3
3,
And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, WHOSOEVER STAYS IN HIM SINS NOT: WHOSOEVER SINS HAS NOT SEEN HIM OR KNOWS HIM
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, HE THAT COMMITS SIN IS OF THE DEVIL; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, WHOSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD DOES NOT COMMIT SIN; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

Proverbs 28:9

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Psalm 66:18
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me

1 John 2
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4, He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Psalms 1
5,
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6, For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish

..............

2. In your view, we do not need to repent of our sins?

Is God lying when he says....

Matthew 4
17,
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Luke 13
3,
I tell you, No: but, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish.

Act 2:38

Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 3:19
Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Act 8:22
Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

Act 17:30
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:

................

3. Also, in your view, someone who once believed in Jesus cannot fall away and lose salvation?

Isaiah 1
28,
And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and THEY THAT FORSAKE THE LORD shall be consumed.

Isaiah 13
9,
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Isaiah 33
14, The sinners in Zion are afraid;
fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

Proverb 8
36,
But he that sins against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death

2 Peter 2
1,
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
2, And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3, And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.
4, For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved to judgment;

5,
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;
6, And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample to those that after should live ungodly;

7,
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8, For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;

9,
The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust to the day of judgment to be punished:

10,
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11, Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12, But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13, And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14, Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

15,
WHICH HAVE FORSAKEN THE RIGHT WAY, AND ARE GONE ASTRAY, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

16,
But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbade the madness of the prophet.
17, These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18, For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19, While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

20, FOR IT THEY HAVE ESCAPED THE POLLUTIONS OF THE WORLD THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, THEY ARE AGAIN ENTANGLED THEREIN AND OVERCOME, THE LATTER END IS WORSE THEN THE BEGGINING.

21, FOR IT HAD BEEN BETTER FOR THEN NOT TO HAVE KNOWN THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAN, AFTER THEY HAVE KNOWN IT, TO TURN FROM THE HOLY COMMANDMENT DELIEVERED UNTO THEM.

22, But it is happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Yep seems Peter thinks that you can know and follow God and then turn back from God to follow SIN and leave God....

Hebrews 6
4,
FOR IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THOSE WHO WERE ONCE ENLIGHTENED, AND HAVE TASTED OF THE HEAVENLY GIFT, AND WERE MADE PARTAKERS OF THE HOLY GHOST,
5, AND HAVE TASTED OF THE GOOD WORD OF GOD, AND THE POWERS OF THE WORLD TO COME,

6, IF THEY SHALL FALL AWAY, TO RENEW THEM AGAIN TO REPENTANCE; SEEING THEY CRUCITY TO THEMSELVES THE SON OF GOD AFREASH, AND PUT HIM TO OPEN SHAME.
7, For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes oft on it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:
8, But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is near to cursing; whose end is to be burned.

links to....

Hebrews 10
26,
FOR IT WE SIN WILLFULLY AFTER WE RECEIVE A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, THERE REMAINS NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS,
27, BUT A FEARFUL LOOKING FORWARD FOR OF JUDGEMENT AND FIERY INDIGNATION, WHICH SHALL DEVOUR THE ADVERSARIES.
28, He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29, OF HOW MUCH MORE SORER PUNISHMENT, SUPPOSE YOU, SHALL HE BE THOUGHT WORTHY, WHO HAS TRODDEN UNDER FOOT THE SON OF GOD, AND HAS COUNTED THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT WITH WHICH HE WAS SANCTIFIED AN UNHOLY THING AND HAS DONE DESPITE TO THE SPIRIT OF GRACE?
30, For we know him that has said, Vengeance belongs to me, I will recompense, said the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31, IT IS A FEARFUL THING TO FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THE LIVING GOD.
Seems both PAUL and PETER agree together that you can KNOW GOd have a KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH and fall away back into SIN.

Isaiah 59
1,
Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2, BUT YOUR INIQUITIES HAVE SEPARATED BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR GOD, AND YOUR SINS HAVE HIS HIS FACE FROM YOU THAT HE WILL NOT HEAR.
3, For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with SIN; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perverseness.

Seems Isaiah agrees with Peter and Paul that SIN can separate us from GOD.

Ezekiel 3
17,
Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
18, When I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; and you give him not warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand.
19, Yet if you warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
20, AGAIN, WHEN A RIGHTEOUS MAN DOES TURN FROM HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND COMMIT INIQUITY, AND I LAY A STUMBLING BLOCK BEFORE HIM, HE SHALL DIE IN HIS SIN, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH HE HAS DONE SHALL NOT BE REMEMBERED; but his blood I will require from your hand.
21, Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also you have delivered your soul.

Well there we have it Ezekial, Isaiah Peter and Paul all agree that you can know God and have a KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH and fall away back into SIN.

Joshua 23
11,
Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love the LORD your God.
12, ELSE IF YOU IN ANY WISE GO BACK TO JOIN TO THE REMNANNT OF THESE NATIONS, EVEN THESE THAT REMAIN AMONG YOU AND SHALL MAKE MARRIAGES WITH THEM AND GO IN UNTO THEM AND THEY TO YOU:
13, KNOW FOR A CERTAINTY THAT THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL NO MORE DRIVE OUT THESE NATIONS FROM BEFORE YOU.; but they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.

Now Joshua is joining Ezekial, Isaiah Peter and Paul who all agree that you can know God and have a KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH and fall away back into SIN.
Numbers 14
43,
For there the Amalekites and the Canaanites are facing you, and you shall fall by the sword. BECAUSE YOU HAVE TURNED BACK FROM FOLLOWING THE LORD, the Lord will not be with you.”

Now you can also add Moses to Joshua, Ezekial, Isaiah, Peter and Paul who all agree that you can know God and have a KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH and fall away back into SIN.

James 5
19,
My brothers, IF ANY AMONG YOU WANDERS FROM THE TRUTH AND SOMEONE BRINGS HIM BACK, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

Seems also James agrees with Moses, Joshua, Ezekial, Isaiah, Peter and Paul who all agree that you can know God and have a KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH and fall away back into SIN.

Jeremiah 3
8, And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
9, And it came to pass through the lightness of her prostitution, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
10, And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to me with her whole heart, but feignedly, said the LORD.
11, And the LORD said to me, The backsliding Israel has justified herself more than treacherous Judah
.
12,
Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, RETURN FAITHLESS ISRAEL, declares the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the Lord; I will not be angry forever.
13, Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against the LORD your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed my voice, said the LORD.
14, TURN O BACKSLIDING CHILDREN, said the LORD; for I am married to you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

Looks like we can add Jeremaiah to James, Moses, Joshua, Ezekial, Isaiah, Peter and Paul who all agree that you can know God and have a KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH and fall away back into SIN.

Joel 2
13,
And rend your hearts and not your garments. RETURN TO THE LORD YOUR GOD, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.

Well here so far we have Joel, Jeremaiah, James, Moses, Joshua, Ezekial, Isaiah, Peter and Paul who all agree that you can know God and have a KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH and fall away back into SIN.

There is NO such thing as ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED this is th false Gospel from the father of lies. If you KNOW GOd and turn back to SIN.

.....................

4. In your view, Hebrews 10 is only for the Jews and is not relavent to the Christian?

Yet God says...

1 Corinthians 10
11,
Now ALL THESE THINGS happened to them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the world are come.

2 Tim 3
16,
ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Matthew 4
4,
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

I think most of the bible would disagree with this interpretations of the scriptures. Happy to share the scriptures with you as the above is no where near exaustive. Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it.

There is no such thing as ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED. God's Word is very clear. You can indeed fall away from God and return back to a life of SIN.

KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will indeed keep all those who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

No what she did was take a verse out of context. Of course, You can not believe this, because it would throw your legalism under the table and you would have to admit error.

Sadly the warning is for people like you. People who think they have begun in the spirit, but now perfect your salvation in the flesh (works) paul has a term for people like you.

The context is "after we have received the knowledge of the truth". The cause is before the context and the response is after the context. This is the simple rule to context. Not that this matters to you. You are simply hiding behind the tired old "context excuse".

Tell me this, if "after we have received the knowledge of the truth" is not the context, what is the context?

Isaiah 33
14, The sinners in Zion are afraid;
fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites.

4, For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved to judgment;

5,
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;
6, And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample to those that after should live ungodly;

7,
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8, For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;

9,
The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust to the day of judgment to be punished:

10,
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11, Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12, But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13, And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14, Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

15,
WHICH HAVE FORSAKEN THE RIGHT WAY, AND ARE GONE ASTRAY, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

16,
But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbade the madness of the prophet.

Hebrews 10
26,
FOR IT WE SIN WILLFULLY AFTER WE RECEIVE A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, THERE REMAINS NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS,
27, BUT A FEARFUL LOOKING FORWARD FOR OF JUDGEMENT AND FIERY INDIGNATION, WHICH SHALL DEVOUR THE ADVERSARIES.

It's context man. Don't you know it's always context.

The serpent: "Did God really say you shall not eat of any tree in the garden?"
Eve: "God said to not eat of the tree in the center of the garden or I will die"
The serpent: "Well Eve lets look at the context of what God said."

John says a person why Denys Christ is an antichrist

He also says, if they at one time considered themselves a part of the church, as a walking child of God, and then departed from that church , and is now denying christ, that person was never part of the church (never saved)

To say that person was saved, and is now unsaved is

1. Calling the apostle John a liar
2, Calling Jesus incompetent (he did not know the person would leave and deny him to his face)
3. Calling the father incompetent (He did not know himself. And allowed Jesus to save the person)
4. Calling the HS incompetent (He did not kn ow the person would do an about face, and considered his work finished.

Which basically puts this whole Christianity thing in the dumpsters. Lets all go eat drink and be merry, because there would be no eternity for us. We are all doomed.
No.............just no.

Satan himself rebelled from God, yet nobody called God incompetent for that.

Adam & Eve sinned & fell, & brought the curse of sin on mankind, but nobody called God incompetent for that.

Man throughout the OT chose his own way, did what was right in his own eyes, & got judged for it accordingly.

When man chooses to "go back" to the Law, or his old life, it's still willful rebellion, and will still be judged accordingly.

Jesus & the Father aren't incompetent, they're still allowing their prized creation to choose his own way, whether to voluntarily serve God, or Satan.

Forced salvation after accepting Christ would be robotic at best. Saying everybody that's truly saved won't backslide is the most stupid thing I've ever heard. Saying we can sin right on & stay saved & God won't judge is just as stupid, cuz God doesn't change.

We have not been stripped of our ability to choose another way.

The Falling Away could not exist if we could no longer choose.

Sinful man can't be the one falling away if he's already in the ditch.

1. Does receiving mean you took it in faith? I would say no
2. The context is the following

A. The law as a shadow
B. Animal sacrifice is insufficient
C. Christs death fulfills Gods law
D. Through Christs death, he took away the first (the law) that he may establish the second, By which we have been sanctified through the body of Christ
E. By Christs offering, whoever is brought into the new covenant is sanctified forever (he has perfected forever those being sanctified. (Where by the law, sacrifice and burnt offering had to continue every year. And even that was not enough)
F. The new covenant, God will write his law in our hearts, and minds, And our sins he will remember no more.
G. Where there is remission of sin, there is no more offering (law) for sin (because the penalty of sin has been removed, IF NOT, then there would continue to be sactrifice for future sin)
H. Because of the above, Enter boldly with an assurance of faith (something your gospel rejects by the way, there is no assurance in your gospel.)
I Let us continue to not only hold onto this hope. But assemble together and help each other hold on to this hope which is in christ jesus (something must want to take that hope away, well yeah, LEGALISM)
J. Going back to law. The dangers) If we sin willfully after we come to the knowledge of truth, there remains no more sacrifice, For whoever rejects the law (as written) dies without mercy (and they will)
K. How much more severe will it be for one who KNOWS the truth, and yet samples it under his feet (by returning to law)
L. Vengeance will be Gods for whoever is not sanctified by his death. The law will never save anyone.
M. The lord will return soon, Hold fast by faith, whoever DRAWS BACK (TO LAW) He has no pleasure in them.

Now I do not expect you to understand this, But hey, I do not expect a lot of things from certain people. I think they have made their bed.

How foolish is this line of thinking

If Eve had looked at context. She would have known Satan was a deciever. Because satan took Gods words and twisted them out of context.

If you want to go to God based on your righteousness. Thats your choice. But how dare you try to take others down that pit with you?

Are you ever gonna tell us why you say you're not OSAS, yet put your 'likes' on the OSAS posts?

BTW, this posted above? Just another unsubstanciated, unproven accusation.

Your reputation for doing this precedes you.

Everybody knows.

I believe you saw the text clearly, all right.

Hebrews 10 King James Version (KJV)
10 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Eve did the same thing that legalists do - the serpent asked her if God said not to eat from the tree. she replied " God said not to eat of it or touch it "- so, she added to God's Word. God did not tell them not to touch it.

now, it would have been wise not to touch it, but the fact is, when you say that the Word of God says things it does not say, that will end badly at some point.

Yes, Amen, If only they could see that..

No where in the context of what God said did he say or even hint of anything about touching the fruit. Yet she in her mind, took him to mean that also.

Context would have corrected her mistake.

Now, wait a minute . . .

Yes, Eve said that "God said not to eat of it or touch it" - there is no doubt of that - Gen. 3:3
And yes, there is no record in Genesis that God told Adam and Eve not to touch the fruit.

But your conclusion is faulty: you say that thus we know that God did not tell them not to touch it. All we know is that it is not recorded in Scripture: that is, the Bible does not tell us that God told Eve: "Do not touch the fruit"

God may very well have told Eve not to touch the fruit. We don't know whether He did nor not.

But to make a definitive statement that God did not tell Eve she was not to touch the fruit we need a definitive statement in Scripture: that is - we would need a verse that says "God never told Eve that she should not touch the fruit."

You say and I quote: "when you say that the Word of God says things it does not say, that will end badly at some point." That is exactly what you just did when you said, "God did not tell them not to touch it".
