This thread is dedicated to a study on the "End Times" Order Of Events. This chart is the centerpiece of the study. It is a work in progress. I am posting it now to give you a "preview" of it so you can "look it over" and see what you might conclude...

I will try to update the chart with new information as I am able.

The chart is too large to insert in the post. Please just use the link above and open it in a new window.

As is normal for a thread in this forum - comments are welcome...

The central idea of this study is to be concerned only with the order of events:

"What
occurs before what?"
"What
occurs after what?"
"What occurs at the same time as what?"

And, of course:

"What descriptions of events are the same event based on the wording, details, and depiction represented in the context of the descriptions?"

The table reads like a timeline - but with no dates - only the order of events.

You just may discover that - when you divest yourself of the 'timestamps' - many things start becoming "a whole lot clearer"...

:)

I think you have the order mostly correct; I would put the abomination of desolation between the 7th trumpet and the return of Jesus. It's kind of the grand finally of the tribulation events. And the 'great tribulation' really covers all the events of the seals and trumpets. Same with the pre-wrath events spanning the vial events. Tribulation and pre wrath are kind of overall generalizations about the periods, while the seals/trumpets/vials are specifics. And you did leave out the seals (I know it's still a work in progress just saying). I would also put a question mark on the location of some of the scriptures.

But it's a nice piece of work!

the abomination is what starts the 3.5 year great trib.. it is when the prince who is to come breaks his treaty. and defames God and starts his war against the saints.

More than the 'placement' of Mt 24:15 and Mk 13:14 is the warning in parenthesis + and with Mt 24:16-17 Likewise, 'tho an honorable endeavor to decipher signs and wonders, may i take liberty adding Mt 24:36 makes it an Ecclesiastical penchant for vanity; whereas, seeking while He may be found lends itself toward wisdom.

In truth, how shall you know the abomination that makes desolate is actually standing in The Holy Place?

Sidebar: [ I love the work you are doing in efforts understanding the Nevi'im and pray your blessings be many.]

Jesus says (Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21) that there will be wars and rumors of wars, that nations and kings will rise up against each other. There will be earthquakes, famines, troubles, fearful signs, and great signs from Heaven. He tells us not to be troubled because these things must happen before the end. These He describes as the beginning of sorrows, the birth pangs. They corrolate to the seal and trumpet judgments.

Jesus said then Jerusalem will be surrounded by armies, and that an event will occur causing the city to be left desolate. Daniel sees a vision of this; He is studying the vision of the prophet Jeremiah concerning the judgment of Jerusalem and prays that God will turn His anger from them. An angel is then sent with a vision of what will happen (Dan. 9). The angel explains that there is a prince to come who will make a covenant with many for ‘a week’, but in the middle of that week he cuts it off. Jerusalem is then left desolate by an event, which lasts until the end of it all.

The 'tribulation' period begins when the prince to come makes his treaty, the abomination occurs after he breaks it mid-stream.

Yes I agree, many call this the tribulation period of 7 years. I am speaking of the "great tribulation though.

As Jesus said, After the abomination of desolation, there will be great tribulation, such as never has been seen on earth before or after. This is the period I am speaking of.

The order of end time events was given by Christ in Mark 13. He gives the 7 identical seals in Revelation, in mark 13. They aline.

Nice to know...

I would put the abomination of desolation between the 7th trumpet and the return of Jesus. It's kind of the grand finally of the tribulation events.
You're kidding, right?

And the 'great tribulation' really covers all the events of the seals and trumpets.
According to the following verses, right?:

Matthew 24:29
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days ..."

Mark 13:24-25
"But in those days, after that tribulation, ..."

Same with the pre-wrath events spanning the vial events. Tribulation and pre wrath are kind of overall generalizations about the periods, while the seals/trumpets/vials are specifics.
'Wrath Of God' = Vials

("Exactly - no more and no less.")

Revelation 15:1
"... seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God."

Revelation 15:7
"And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God ..."

And you did leave out the seals (I know it's still a work in progress just saying).
I suppose you somehow missed these?:

[ The Four Horses ]
[ The Souls Under The Alter ]

... and the other 'Revelation 6' verses on that same row?

I would also put a question mark on the location of some of the scriptures.
Like... ?

But it's a nice piece of work!
Thank you.

Yeah, that's why I don't like the term 'the great tribulation, I prefer 'the great judgment and wrath'.

IMHO, the problem with this forum is that everyone wants to debate everything, but nobody wants to learn anything. <wry smile>

The parallel (in time) nature of the prophecies in both Daniel and Revelation is fully explained here. http://www.ellisskolfield.com/pdf/Bifids_Chiasms.pdf

hi GRA
i looked at your chart.
brother, you have so much done!
amazing.

i can't agree with the order of things in the chart.
but i'm impressed nonetheless, for sure.
wish i could make charts.

the trouble for me is, i don't think we can successfully make a linear arrangement of things which are not listed in a linear chronology.

the prophesies, for example, in Revelation use grammatical devices such as the polysyndeton 'AND'....
the AND signifies we are possibly changing 'scenes' in the visions, or at the very least that much more is included than is "listed".

Polysyndeton
A rhetorical term for a sentence style that employs many coordinating conjunctions (the opposite of asyndeton). Adjective: polysyndetic.

"Despite their formidable names, polysyndeton and asyndeton are nothing more than different ways of handling a list or a series. Polysyndeton places a conjunction (and, or) after every term in the list (except, of course, the last). Asyndeton uses no conjunctions and separates the terms of the list with commas. Both differ from the conventional treatment of lists and series, which is to use only commas between all items except the last two, these being joined by a conjunction (with or without a comma--it is optional)."
(Thomas S. Kane, The New Oxford Guide to Writing. Oxford University Press, 1988)

~

here's what i mean.
if i wish to write to my Cousin about a dream i had which was a series of images with an overall message, i might do it something like this:

First (thing i remember in the beginning of my dream) was that i saw _______, and then I saw _____, and ______, and then _____, and _______, and then i saw ____, and i heard ____, etc.

just because i list the things "I saw" in my dream in an order such as above, does not mean the dream was sequential in terms of linear-time events (i.e.; First, in order in time, i saw; then the next thing that happened (in chronological-time order) was; then after that this happened; followed by such-and-such).

since my dream is a series of images and sounds (not always in chronological sequence), i might actually be trying to express my dream something more like this:

"Hi Cousin Jane - I had a dream last night about that summer we spent at Auntie Anne's, the summer our Uncle got sick, and i realized something important about the family in general i wanted to share with you":

First in my dream:
i looked....and we were kids in the hayloft playing....
and i saw...
then i saw....
and then i looked....
and i saw....
and....
and i heard....
and i saw....
then i saw....

~

that prolly made no sense whatsoever GRA:confused::eek:
maybe i need an exter coffee.
want one? large w'shot of espresso.

man, why doesn't Tim's automatically put the cozy on the cup anymore???
like....a paper cup isn't uber-hot???
