One thing I find to be rather humorous is that many Christians who really know nothing about the Seventh Day Adventist Church and it's teachings except for what they have read on the anti-Adventist hate websites, will go accusing our Church of being a "Cult".

The reason people do that, is because it is the easy way to turn people away from a listening to what is being said, without having to really do much of anything to prove that a Church's DOCTRINES are unbiblical.

What is funny, at least in my opinion, is that they will pitch a fit if you suggest to someone that they take time to actually READ what our Church Prophet Ellen White wrote about. They make out as if THAT "proves" that we are in a Cult. Ha! the very fact that they are so AFRAID that someone might actually read her writings, shows more that it is THEY who are actually in a Cult. What are they do afraid of, anyway? Are they worried that if someone reads what she said that they might actually have a different opinion of things? The "Cult" mentality tries to prevent others from finding out the truth. Like as in, they don't want anyone reading materials from another Church, because the Reader might actually have true information on which to form their opinions.

If you REALLY want to know what Ellen White taught, here's a suggestion.... READ HER OWN BOOKS! ...unless you are afraid to.

Millions of people have read her books and been amazed at what she said. All she does, really, is bring up Bible verses and passages that people have generally overlooked before. Her writings give you a much deeper insight into the Scriptures than they had before.

Good Bye now, and may God bless you all.

Here are some of Ellen White's audio books:

Steps to Christ -How to be saved
Truth for the End of Time, Your Original Source of Free Audio Books by Ellen G. White - Steps to Christ
This inspiring audio book is a practical guide on how to find salvation in Jesus Christ. It shows how this salvation is a gift from God that we cannot earn. Not only does it reveal how to obtain this salvation, but how we can keep it. If you follow the steps in this outstanding book, you will truly be one of the most happy people in the world and can rejoice in His salvation.

Desire of Ages -On the Life of Christ
The Desire of Ages
This book is the number one book checked out from the library of congress on the life of Christ. Your heart will thrill as you behold Jesus, the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world. It is a personal favorite of mine. I have read it four times and constantly use its instruction for my life. You will truly be blessed by this book!!!

The Great Controversy -End Times, Protestant Reformation, Mark of the Beast
Great Controversy
This most outstanding audio e-Book in the Spirit of Prophecy series talks about the ongoing controversy or confrontation going on between Christ and Satan and takes us behind the scenes of history to show us how this battle has been played out. It also brings to us a picture of the future, including the role that America will play in earth’s closing events.

Patriarchs and Prophets
Patriarchs and Prophets
In this audio book, you will hear the vivid account of how a mighty angel in heaven led one third of the other angels to rebel against God and how they were cast out of heaven. Following this account, you will look on as God creates the world in all of its beauty. You will see how sin first came to be upon planet earth. Beginning at Adam and ending with David, you will learn how each of the patriarchs and prophets of the Bible found hope in the promise of the soon coming Messiah. You will rejoice as you find that the recurring theme of this book is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I pray that you will also find that not only was God a friend to the heroes of the old Testament, but that He can be your friend too.

Acts of the Apostles
Acts of the Apostles
Have you ever wished that you could be there when the early church was formed; that you could walk in the shoes of great men of faith such as Peter and Paul? This book takes you back to the times of the apostles of Jesus. As you read you will find God's ideal for His church on this earth and will be challenged to experience the same wonder working power that the apostles experienced. Most of all, you will get a clearer picture of the Jesus whom these men sacrificed all to preach to the ends of the earth!!!

Christ's Object Lessons
Christ's Object Lessons
An audio e-Book which takes the parables of Christ and applies them to daily life. This inspiring book is one of my personal favorites!

Prophets and Kings
Prophets and Kings
This book begins with the end of the reign of David through the prophets of the Jewish nation. You will hear about great men of God like Elijah, Elisha, Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel and Jeremiah. You will thrill as you see the great mercy and forbearance of Jehovah. You will marvel at God's patience as He determines to fulfill His purpose of bringing salvation within reach of every man.

Col 2:16-19 KJV] 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ. 18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

[Rom 14:1-6 KJV] 1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, [but] not to doubtful disputations. 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth [it] unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard [it]. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

[Mar 2:23-28 KJV] 23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

[Mar 3:1-6 KJV] 1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. 2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. 3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. 4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. 5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched [it] out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. 6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

[Mat 12:1-8 KJV] 1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. 2 But when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. 3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; 4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? 5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? 6 But I say unto you, That in this place is [one] greater than the temple. 7 But if ye had known what [this] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. 8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

No it isn't. It is pseudo-Christian, and they do have their points to ponder.
I would agree with the bolded and Starfield as both indicate something that is not Christian (biblically speaking that is)

The is a book for Christians called "The Four Cults". The four Christian cults he lists are Christian science, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness and Seventh Day Adventist. He has written many books on cults and he is what you would call an expert on Christian cults.

just a thought here...........but I must disagree with the "description" of these............

THERE ARE NO CHRISTIAN cults....................

There is the One True Church of which Christ is the Head.............and there are cults..........THEY ARE NOT the same......

(now, I do understand why people refer to them as Christian cults............but they do so in error in my opinion)

If White's revelations are contrary to God's Truth as revealed in His Word, the Bible, or "new knowledge", they are false.

I don't quite understand your comment...........why would you need for them to "let you" teach/speak the Gospel of Jesus? As well, IF one is teaching/preaching the Gospel of Jesus, why would they care if someone was upset? Isn't that KINDA the idea? To show them the error of their ways and to bring the Good News to them?

My cult is not a cult and these are the reasons why;

1. I don't like the word cult.

2. I still can't really get over that word cult.

3. What does cult really mean anyway.

and finally

4. I don't think my cult is a cult. Your cult could still possibly be a cult but mine definitely is not.

Thank you.

(Matthew 7:15-20) . . .“Be on the watch for the false prophets who come to you in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits you will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise, every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize those men. . .

hello users,
I dont know, how are things with Seventh Day Adventist Church in usa, but apparently they obviously have some different direction there (in states.. oh and in denmark too) as here.

I have some friends among this church, they are very proficient in teaching the Bible, I wouldn say that they are cult or non christians, I woudnt said that ever...

Yes, there are some issues...discrepancies relating to matters of food and sabath (no pork, no blood ..saturday as holy day) but its not so much important... however they have quite negative opinion about baptism of HOly Spirit and it bothers me ...
But in case of... ehmm questions about baptism of HS, they are several churches, christian churches with negative or reserved attitude... and regardless of that, we have no doubt that they are christians...
or am I wrong?
be blessed

We are to look for two things to decide if someone is our brother and sister in Christ. One is if they understand that our Father sent Christ as our savior, and the other is if they express love and encouragement. Especially, on this last one there are many on cc that are questionable.

I have read some commentaries on the bible that most churches accept and felt some of what the commentary says is not in keeping with what scripture is telling us, but I don't say "cult" all is not right about the entire commentary. Anyone who reads any of these including Ellen White as God's word are not following God. I think one of the ministers in the church I belong to follows this, as he reads the doctrines of our church with the same devotion he reads scripture. That is wrong. My church is not a cult, and this minister is not a false prophet. Pastor Bill is a dear man of God.
