Frankly, Methodist, Batpists and most other protestants fit into this category also.
None of these are mentioned in Holy Bible.
i was born and brought up in a 'pentecostal' fellowship.
But the day i got Saved i became a Christian.

If someone thinks only their particular fellowship will go to Heaven,then they are dreaming....
True Church is not man made and is beyond man-made barriers.It's this True Church that is going to be transfigured at Christ's 2nd coming..
God Bless.

............whaaaaaaaaa?????? seriously?.............sigh............
Never really looked into their doctrines, have ya?

Seriously, you can count three days and three nights from Friday sunset to Sunday before dawn? That is just one tidbit of the error most protestant churches hold to. How about the Apostles creed recited every Sunday?

"The affirmation of faith most widely used by United Methodists. The Apostles' Creed derives its name from its use in the Christian church from as early as A.D. 150 and the early belief that it was used by the apostles. Beginning in the third century, this creed was used at baptisms by the Roman Catholic Church. Through the years it has been used widely by both Roman Catholics and Protestants as the formative statement of the faith into which Christians are baptized." - Apostles’ Creed - The United Methodist Church

Now what is that creed?

The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come again to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.Amen.

And of course they claim it does not mean the Catholic church but the universal church. All the while the Caholics are laughing up their sleeve.

"United Methodism shares with Catholicism the basics of Christianity. We believe in the one God who comes to us in a Trinity of Father, Son, Spirit. Jesus the Christ is the Word of God enfleshed. He lived, was crucified, was risen. We read the Bible (although with fewer books, since we are Protestants) and find it it a sufficient guide to God's will for us. We have bishops who appoint pastors to the churches. We believe in life after death.
Our tradition asserts the real, personal, living presence of Jesus Christ. We understand the divine presence in temporal and relational terms. In the Holy Meal of the church, the past, present, and future of the living Christ come together.
Differences with the Catholic Church: We agree with other Protestants in affirming only two Sacraments, Baptism and the Lord's Supper/Eucharist. These are the Sacraments actually commanded by Jesus. We say that God in Christ is truly present in the Eucharist, but we do not affirm "transsubstantiation." We do not recognize the authority of the Pope, the Bishop of Rome. We usually baptize by sprinkling, but we may pour or immerse as the candidate prefers. We accept birth control and abortion, after prayerful consideration.
We do not kneel at worship except at the Lord's Table. Our pastors are much more free to innovate in the order of worship and to follow the lectionary readings or to choose their own.

Peace and grace,

Bill Olewiler
United Methodist pastor, retired"

Yep, doctrines that are right down the line. By the way, you wanna buy a bridge?

Perhaps I am reacting without enough prayer and scripture behind me, if so I am sorry, but I just cannot believe that the prophets would attack others who worshipped the one true God. They had many different denominations long before Christ. Jesus told what was wrong with the way the Pharisees worshipped, when Jesus got personal it was about the wrong thing they were doing, like pretending to fast, or pretending to honor the Sabbath when they were only trying to trap him. Paul did the same.

I have some very dear friends who do things in their church I think are very wrong and I have told each of them of the things I object to. One is my pastor! Both of these are still dear friends and we often discuss the things about scripture we agree on because we all share that we put God first in our lives. The only ones that I don't share with are those who say scripture is not for them, but I have made it very clear that all of God comes first in my life.

I can not help but think that some of the tearing, almost brutal things said here are not the way God wants us to do.
Red I like you, but you should seriously go study a bit as your (view) is a little flawed as there are numerous examples found through the bible where the prophets of God railed on the (false) religions of their day and to say that there were many denominations before Jesus is contrary to the entire O.T. and borders on complete heresy!

One example is the 450 prophets of Baal...What did the prophet of God do to them....coddle them, love them and promote their heresy?

if anything, this is further proof that the God of the Bible is the real God. That so many differing beliefs can come from one book proves the attack on the book itself. It would not need to be attacked so much if it were just a regular book. Satan is very sneaky, all he has to do is change one word. one meaning, and he has you hook line and sinkered in his grips. And he has every basis covered!

I agree.....People will take one verse out of context and then go off on a tangent which then results in confusion and people being made to be (two fold) the children of hell...not only do they have to get over their lost state, but now they also have to get over the false religion that they belong too=two fold the children of hell!

which is exactly why many will walk this earth doing things in the name of God. and thinking they are secure. and then face God and God will say, depart, for I NEVER KNEW YOU.

They did not understand the true grace of God and the true Gospel of Christ.

No doubt and what is interesting is the reasons given of why they think they should be allowed to enter...

1. Wonderful works in the name of Jesus
2. The ability to speak prophecies in the name of Jesus
3. The ability to cast out demons in the name of Jesus

I can lump most so called Christian religions in under the three banners above which leads to a serious question about what the (said) religions teach about salvation as it is evident which (religions) boast the most about the above three (works)!

Yes true!

Whats even more amazing is the reason given for why they must depart.

"You who practice iniquity"

of course, who would this speak of?

For ALL (there is that all word again) have sinned and fall short of Gods glory

There problem is, they had religion and works. But their sin was not forgiven.. why? They had faith in another gospel. which is not another, but their are some who want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

If any man teach other gospel, let him be damned.

there is a reason Pauls words are so harsh and to the point.

And a primo example of why we should all study the words from the original languages if possible! The gospel of a different kind was Jesus plus works for salvation---->Galatians chapter three....

Maybe that is not a bad thing as we could get out of this hole (world) a little faster HAHHAHAHHA You know....I don't think that WW3 is that far away anyway and personally I believe that the world is on the brink and this year could bring the beginning of the end of the age!

Key words being (COULD BRING)

I believe it too. The american govt is making the same mistake which took the roman empire down (divided in two with no room for comprimise). Our mistake, and rome getting back together (europe) could cause the very thing you speak of.

If our financial capitol collapses. the whole worlds will collapse.

I agree and take it even further......the view I have is very controversial<--HAH but rejected by those who won't listen and or consider the 13-15 chapters of the bible that deals with the Daughter of Babylon (the hindermost of the nations) as blended in with the fall of classical Babylon!

lo

lol. Well I would probably disagree with youalso. I do not see America having the characteristics of Babylon. But I do see America falling.. And it will be a hard fall. And the world will rejoice at her fallen state. and praise god as her cities go up in smoke.

and this is why i always point to the debit card/pin number in forehead instead of r.f.i.d. that is all can already go to any nation in the world and buy and sell using the number that they only can calculate/count(pin number),,,but money as we have it(dollars,pesos ect. must be exchanged),,,but atm's are in every nation.,,,
