Your first statement is an oxymoron----
One who is saved is not confused as to how one is saved.
One who is confused may very well not be saved.

There is only one way to eternal life. Always has been. Always will be.
You either understand and are saved, or you are placing your hope in/on the wrong person and are probably lost.
Lol
See,you proved my point.
Salvation is never figured out.
Nobody understands it.
It is beyond understanding.

Thats why in salvation we are both elected and. Choose by faith to follow Jesus, but folks argue over a rabbit trail in their minds of. "Either or"
In their minds it can not be both.

....in their minds.

No,anyone truly saved has not the foggiest how God did that.

You are a "figurer"
I an a "believer by faith"

Hi Absolutely, what is the "Cross sckizm" exactly  Thanks!

The "works schizm" I get as this forum, as well all but one other Christian forum that I've posted to regularly in the last 20 years, has always had an abundance of Pharisees, legalists/moralists, Pelagians, Finneyites (or whatever people are calling them these days) posting about the absolute ~necessity~ for Christians to always choose to be obedient if they want to have any hope of being saved and/or remaining saved. IOW, these folks preach that salvation results from our choice to be obedient, not that obedience is one of the wondrous things that results from our being saved.

The "greasy grace schizm" is an odd one, because the only people who regularly bring that one up (in the way that you define it above) are the legalists (who use it to try to prove why their "works schizm" is necessary for salvation).

(I have never read anyone's OP or post over the years who said that 1. repentance is ~never~ necessary, even when they first come to faith, or 2. admitted that they feel there is nothing wrong with continuing in or returning to their former, sinful lifestyles after becoming a Christian because God will forgive all their new sins anyway, so who cares! I saw in the news that the newest Bachelorette .. who "claims" to be a Christian .. has said as much on the reality TV show "The Bachelor", but if someone has said anything like that here on CChat, please point their posts out to me. Thanks! https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/moralistic-therapeutic-bachelorette-christianity-sex/).

That said, I have run into Christian "perfectionists" who believe that a Christian cannot sin once they've been saved (and therefore have nothing to repent of again), as well one or two hyper-grace folks who know that they still sin, know that they need to repent/turn from doing that sin again, but they don't believe that they need to ask God for forgiveness again, believing that all of their sins, past, present and future, have already been forgiven at the foot of the Cross.

Thanks again!

--Deut
The cross schezm has Jesus still on the cross. They glory in the cross and on sunday they hear yet another sermon on the cross.
The empty tomb is minor.
Now before the false accusations fly,yes the cross is a foundation and pillar.
But he got off that cross.
He is alive. Not dead on some cross

I just realized something.
This thread gives the salvation head scratchers nowhere to go in taking a position.

It's like a "take away" thread. Lol

If they start their salvation emphasis it becomes another salvation thread lol.

Oh wow
Too funny.

Why are believers confused over salvation?
We see thread after thread on salvation.
One must go to page 2,or 3 to find another topic.
You have the cross skizm "ohhhh brutha ittttssss the crossssssss"
The works schizm" obey the law"
The greasy grace schizm "all your sins are forgiven, you do not repent. Hey even your future sins are forgiven....just relax, have a cigarrette and enjoy a secular life"

And on and on.

They Can't figure out salvation.
I'm going to step outside in a few minutes to the outside patio and have a smoke and drink some coffee.

All sins are forgiven, past, present and future because at the time Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we were not even born yet.

You absolutely need to repent and this is a life-long process that begins once you invite the Holy Spirit to live inside your heart to comfort and guide you in your spiritual walk with the Lord. As far as obeying the law as stated in the 10 Commandments, yes, you should obey but if you still occasionally stumble and sin God is full of mercy, compassion and understanding and will be faithful to forgive you if you are truly sorry so that you both can be reconciled together.

Since we live in this world there might be aspects that one can enjoy for God wants us to have life and have it more abundantly. It is indeed by the grace of God that we are saved. Jesus has not lost a single one that the Heavenly Father has given unto Him.

Time for me to relax now.

Make another new forum for these confused people. Call it WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

If anyone has any questions, direct them to repent and dunk them in the nearest river.
If you dunk in the nearest river in Florida there is a good chance that you will become lunch from a hungry alligator.

Look,we dont agree on several things (as our recent run in proves)

You are not my boss or my mommy.

If you can't "get over me" just put me on ignore.

If you glory in carnality or greasy grace
You do so outside the example of Paul who divorced this world and set a strict personal example of discipline

This is really strange because I was agreeing with you. I don't recall ever having a run in with you, but it's probably true that we don't agree on everything. That's probably true for most members as well.

I don't see how my post indicated that I was bossing you around or that I was acting like your mommy. If the grace of God does not save you then what exactly does for you're certainly not going to save yourself on your own. Paul didn't divorce himself at all from the world because he was part of it and ministered to those in it. There is a difference between living in the world but not being part of the world.

OK, you don't believe in the grace of God being pertinent for salvation, I really don't have a problem with that because as Paul stated in the bible, there are those that work out their salvation with fear and trembling.

I have yet to put a member on ignore but due to your disrespectful tone I will consider making you the exception.

I believe that we are through here. It's time for me to be moving forward once again.

Good luck with that salvation thing.

Funny thing though, you gave my post a like. Go figure.

Paul wrote that there are those that work out their salvation with fear and trembling.

haha yes he did

but the only fear in the BDF for all the OUTRAGEOUS things some say, is the fear of being banned

but haven't you heard? WORK is a 4 letter word

can't use that word in just about any thread in the BDF or the OSAS crowd will unload on you with a ton of 'if you work you are not saved'

context in which the word is used will not matter

You know what? I was reading your comment and this last line I made bold stuck out. This it true, but it is true of every single man or woman born from Adam. When we are born of the flesh, and 100% of the flesh there is no possible way EVER to "figure out" or learn how to obtain salvation. It's completely beyond our grasp at all, and can only be revealed to Us by direct revelation. God had to tell us otherwise we couldn't ever figure it out.
To me it logically follows, and is backed by scripture, that there is NOTHING we can do to save ourselves. Nothing. This is an another thing that sets God apart from all false gods, and just adds to the greatness of our God, in indescribable ways, and all to His great glory. He is so great and I love Him so much, but only because loved me first and He picked me up. I'm sorry this comment really doesn't address the subject of WHY believers can't agree completely, most likely because of the very fact we are all so different and God draws us all into him in our own custom ways, and uses us in very specifically ways almost like we were molded our whole lives, even and especially before we're saved, for very unique reasons that seem like they were custom made for us. Hmmm. Almost like there's a point to every single thing. Anyway not exactly on point, but thanks for reading my thoughts.

Well there is the peace that passes all understanding.

Meaning if you have this peace, then you dont even need to figure it out. Its just given to you. Hallelujah!

Sometimes we just got to let go of our own understandings and trust God. Even Jobs mouth was stopped before God, and he was supposedly the most righteous man ever. JOb couldnt argue with the Big Chief.

Carnal christians are still saved....just carnal and foolish
I like this and agree, but I wonder what is "Carnal Christians" to you? From what I understand carnal in a sorta high word and semantic sense means worldly among those more learned and high intellectuals. More basely it is in the common plebeians' speech if I say a word like carnal to mean sex.

Then I think either way, huh, that least of apostles Paul may have such the keenest insight into who are the Carnal Christians and who are not and how the carnal/earthly mind is developed in fact by sex almost tying it in all perfectly together, praise Jesus for giving Paul both wisdoms and foolishnesses, God is mighty and wise and appoints as his servants the best of Apostles, praise God.

1 Corinthians 7:32-33

32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
