Have we not learned anything from these scholars? We can only believe what God wills us to believe. Might as well chuck our Bibles because the obvious meaning of the English means nothing. Gosh, you have the world in John 3:16 referring to 'only the elect' while everywhere else 'world' means . . . <GASP> world.

What chance do we have with their capricious god that only takes pleasure in how many humans he can toy with and throw in hell.

DANG!
My friend, world has more than one meaning.

World in places refers to the lost.
World also means the planet earth as well.

When people see the word ‘world’, they want to think everybody without exception. Let’s examine it.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.(John 1:10 King James Bible)

“He was in the world,”

He was in the everybody without exception? No. He was on earth in His physical body. Not everybody without exception saw Him in His physical body.

“and the world was made by him,”

Here is one place world does mean everybody without exception, but it also means His entire creation, as everything made was made by Him.(John 1:3)

“and the world knew him not.”

Again, world here does not mean everybody without exception, because many know Him. Many died never knowing He existed.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

I think the "all" here means only the elect...:)

All without distinction, not all without exception.

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:
7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.(Romans 1)

The all in Rome, are they every Roman citizen whoever lived, all Roman Citizens alive at that time, or all Roman citizens beloved of God? The context shows all to mean those beloved of God, not every Roman citizen alive circa AD 60ish.

What does this "all" refer to?

2 Pet 3v9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But do you know His mind, my friend?
Not quoting God . . . quoting Satan. And yea, I believe I know what he is thinking.

"What method can I use to see that people who could be saved will never be saved. I believe that I will raise up men that will change the meanings of words in the Bible in order to confuse the multitudes. Yea, I know, I'll use a murderer in the 1500's to redefine my enemy's love for the whole world and cause it to be 'just a few elect' souls. Kind of an "Us Four and No More" religion and I'll sway billions to believe they are not chosen of God. Oh, how I love to hear souls screaming in the pits of hell!"

In proper context, His chosen people, His sheep, my friend. I will back this claim up with scripture.

12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.(Matthew 18)

He is not willing for His sheep to perish, is the proper context my friend.

Paul asked a rhetorical question about who has known the mind of the Lord? You say you do. My friend, are you also His counselor? That is found in Romans 11:34.

If you answer that first question by saying you know His mind, then logic demands you answer the next question of who can be His counselor, by saying I can.

Paul made a statement of fact: but we have the mind of Christ.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.(Isaiah 55:8)

You do not know what He is thinking, my friend. None of us do.

Ridiculous misuse of context . . . "But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God" (II Corinthians 4:2).

Can you even read? I'm quoting Genesis . . . Paul wasn't even born yet.

And neither does misquoting me and changing my intent to something unintended.
My friend, if I misquoted you, I offer you my sincerest apology. You said you believe you know what the Lord is thinking, and I showed you and, my friend @John146 Isaiah 55:8. I did not mean to misquote you or change your intent. My apology again.
