And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 "Command the children of Israel that they put out of the camp every leper, everyone who has a discharge, and whoever becomes defiled by a corpse.
3 You shall put out both male and female; you shall put them outside the camp, that they may not defile their camps in the midst of which I dwell."
4 And the children of Israel did so, and put them outside the camp; as the Lord spoke to Moses, so the children of Israel did.
Although some may wish to point back to the comment in Lev. 12, to say that this shows that as wrong. We must first consider that what is spoken of there, and then what is here are infact not the same thing at all. As one teacher points out that here we have both men and women in the same category, to assume we now reading of the monthly time for women, would a bit narrow of a view. As it doesn't take into account the men or that this passage makes no clear distinction between the 2. For this reason it should be concluded that the dischrage can be shared equity with both men and women. Leading to the conclusion that this may well speak to STD's.
5 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
6 Speak to the children of Israel: 'When a man or woman commits any sin that men commit in unfaithfulness against the Lord, and that person is guilty,
7 then he shall confess the sin which he has committed. He shall make restitution for his trespass in full, plus one-fifth of it, and give it to the one he has wronged.
8 But if the man has no relative to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution for the wrong must go to the Lord for the priest, in addition to the ram of the atonement with which atonement is made for him.
9 Every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring to the priest, shall be his.
10 And every man's holy things shall be his; whatever any man gives the priest shall be his.' "
One teacher makes the argument that by todays laws we fail to follow HaShem. In that we only pay restitution in the amount taken, or ordered by a court. Yet others say that by paying what a court orders, makes little difference if the person doesn't repent. 11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
12 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'If any man's wife goes astray and behaves unfaithfully toward him,
13 and a man lies with her carnally, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and it is concealed that she has defiled herself, and there was no witness against her, nor was she caught--
14 if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, who has defiled herself; or if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, although she has not defiled herself--
15 then the man shall bring his wife to the priest. He shall bring the offering required for her, one-tenth of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil on it and put no frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of jealousy, an offering for remembering, for bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16 'And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the Lord.
17 The priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel, and take some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water.
Rashi explains that water was taken from the Temple Laver, the utensil that by its vary essence, recalled the purity of Jewish women. This not to be mistaken for what comes to mind when one hears the phrase holy water today.
18 Then the priest shall stand the woman before the Lord, uncover the woman's head, and put the offering for remembering in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy. And the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that brings a curse.
19 And the priest shall put her under oath, and say to the woman, "If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to uncleanness while under your husband's authority, be free from this bitter water that brings a curse.
20 But if you have gone astray while under your husband's authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your husband has lain with you"-- 21 then the priest shall put the woman under the oath of the curse, and he shall say to the woman--"the Lord make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the Lord makes your thigh rot and your belly swell;
22 and may this water that causes the curse go into your stomach, and make your belly swell and your thigh rot." Then the woman shall say, "Amen, so be it."
23 'Then the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall scrape them off into the bitter water.
24 And he shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and the water that brings the curse shall enter her to become bitter.
25 Then the priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy from the woman's hand, shall wave the offering before the Lord, and bring it to the altar;
26 and the priest shall take a handful of the offering, as its memorial portion, burn it on the altar, and afterward make the woman drink the water.
27 When he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if she has defiled herself and behaved unfaithfully toward her husband, that the water that brings a curse will enter her and become bitter, and her belly will swell, her thigh will rot, and the woman will become a curse among her people.
28 But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she shall be free and may conceive children.
29 This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, while under her husband's authority, goes astray and defiles herself,
30 or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife; then he shall stand the woman before the Lord, and the priest shall execute all this law upon her.
31 Then the man shall be free from iniquity, but that woman shall bear her guilt.' "
It has been said that this is in conflict with the law that calls for them to be killed. However, as HaShem is never in conflict with His Laws, we must understand why this don't call for the death of ether. For this we must note that here there are witnesses. Other than HaShem, this places the final judgment in His hands. Yet one must consider this, If the women is made barren, the same result is forthcoming. As the life any children she may have had has been cut off. Please keep in mind, the if one takes the life of another, they also take the life of all offspring that may have came from that persons blood line.

2 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'When either a man or woman consecrates an offering to take the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the Lord,
As we see Paul in Acts,18:18 he shaved his head due to a vow he had taken. Many never understand what that vow was, as they have never see this chapter, or put the 2 together. This has been due in part to their unwillingness to think of the Torah, or the part it plaid in Paul's life. Though this the only place I can think of off hand were this vow is spoke of, it is also the only vow that holds the do's and don'ts listed here. Also in acts 21:23. If you take the time to read the passages given, please make note of why and when both say the head was shaved. One more note on this. In a discussion about the shroud of Turin, it came down to the question, Can you prove or disprove it using the Word? When it came to that, one had to look for details of how a man should look, according to the Word only. One person that followed the idea that the shroud was the real deal, tried to brush off the hair ias seen in the shroud as Yeshua being under this vow. Yet when confrunted with other facts he had no answer. As I made note of this here, I will point just why it is that Yeshua couldn't have been under this vow as they come up.
3 he shall separate himself from wine and similar drink; he shall drink neither vinegar made from wine nor vinegar made from similar drink; neither shall he drink any grape juice, nor eat fresh grapes or raisins.
As we know Yeshua had wine for at lest one meal. Though given the times, it is understood that He would have wine with ever passover meal, as well as with all the feast He would have kept. Though one can say wine isn't need with the feast, and they would right.
4 All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is produced by the grapevine, from seed to skin.
5 All the days of the vow of his separation no razor shall come upon his head; until the days are fulfilled for which he separated himself to the Lord, he shall be holy. Then he shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
If as was said Yeshua was under this vow from birth, His hair would have a lot longer than it shows in the shroud. Just saying.
6 All the days that he separates himself to the Lord he shall not go near a dead body. 7 He shall not make himself unclean even for his father or his mother, for his brother or his sister, when they die, because his separation to God is on his head.
8 All the days of his separation he shall be holy to the Lord.
9 'And if anyone dies very suddenly beside him, and he defiles his consecrated head, then he shall shave his head on the day of his cleansing; on the seventh day he shall shave it. 10 Then on the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting;
11 and the priest shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, and make atonement for him, because he sinned in regard to the corpse; and he shall sanctify his head that same day.
12 He shall consecrate to the Lord the days of his separation, and bring a male lamb in its first year as a trespass offering; but the former days shall be lost, because his separation was defiled. 13 'Now this is the law of the Nazirite: When the days of his separation are fulfilled, he shall be brought to the door of the tabernacle of meeting.
14 And he shall present his offering to the Lord: one male lamb in its first year without blemish as a burnt offering, one ewe lamb in its first year without blemish as a sin offering, one ram without blemish as a peace offering,
15 a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and their grain offering with their drink offerings.
16 Then the priest shall bring them before the Lord and offer his sin offering and his burnt offering;
17 and he shall offer the ram as a sacrifice of peace offering to the Lord, with the basket of unleavened bread; the priest shall also offer its grain offering and its drink offering. 18 Then the Nazirite shall shave his consecrated head at the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and shall take the hair from his consecrated head and put it on the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offering.
We should keep in mind that the offerings can kept in a spiritual manner. By this I mean, we can offer our time, give to the poor, and many other ways. So for us to blindly remove something, with no understanding of it's true intent, or it's spiritual implacations is not only wrong, it can also be seen as removing the athority of HaShem.
19 And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and put them upon the hands of the Nazirite after he has shaved his consecrated hair,
20 and the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before the Lord; they are holy for the priest, together with the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the heave offering. After that the Nazirite may drink wine.'
21 "This is the law of the Nazirite who vows to the Lord the offering for his separation, and besides that, whatever else his hand is able to provide; according to the vow which he takes, so he must do according to the law of his separation."
22 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
23 "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
24 "The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." '
27 "So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them."

1
Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. 2 So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.
Profane fire. Though there have been many teachings on this, the one that stands out comes to us from the sages. Yet even here we find 2 teachings on it. First R'Yishmael holds that they used fire from the altar, yet it was alien because it had not been bidden to offer it. Yet R'Akiva holds that the fire was didn't come from the altar. Yet most will agree that it more likely they used wrong incense, and or enter at the wrong time.
3 And Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the Lord spoke, saying: 'By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.' " So Aaron held his peace.
4 And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, "Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp." 5 So they went near and carried them by their tunics out of the camp, as Moses had said.
It has been said that the fire didn't act in a manner we would think of. Rather it entered their body, burning their souls, leaving the bodies and clothing untouched.
6 And Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons, "Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the people. But let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord has kindled.
7 You shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die, for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you." And they did according to the word of Moses.
Though we as humans find it hard at times to see good in suffering, this passage shows us 2 things. First we should accept that HaShem's justice is for the best. Even when it brings pain in our hearts. Second, that as one body, we should all share in the mourning of our bothers and sisters.
8 Then the Lord spoke to Aaron, saying:
9 "Do not drink wine or intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations, 10 that you may distinguish between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean, 11 and that you may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord has spoken to them by the hand of Moses."
Though some say the placement of this passage shows that Nadab and Abihu may have entered the Temple after drinking wine, others say that this commandment was not in place at the time. However, as has been pointed out in Gen. the idea that we don't see a commandment in writing, should never lead us to think it was not in place. A full study of said Law, should always come before dismissal, or confirmation. One thing we can all agree on, this passage makes it clear that to teach Torah, or any of the scripture, we must do so with a clear mind.
12 And Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons who were left: "Take the grain offering that remains of the offerings made by fire to the Lord, and eat it without leaven beside the altar; for it is most holy.
13 You shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your due and your sons' due, of the sacrifices made by fire to the Lord; for so I have been commanded.
14 The breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the heave offering you shall eat in a clean place, you, your sons, and your daughters with you; for they are your due and your sons' due, which are given from the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
15 The thigh of the heave offering and the breast of the wave offering they shall bring with the offerings of fat made by fire, to offer as a wave offering before the Lord. And it shall be yours and your sons' with you, by a statute forever, as the Lord has commanded."
16 Then Moses made careful inquiry about the goat of the sin offering, and there it was--burned up. And he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left, saying, 17 "Why have you not eaten the sin offering in a holy place, since it is most holy, and God has given it to you to bear the guilt of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord?
18 See! Its blood was not brought inside the holy place; indeed you should have eaten it in a holy place, as I commanded."
19 And Aaron said to Moses, "Look, this day they have offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord, and such things have befallen me! If I had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord?"
20 So when Moses heard that, he was content.
In the close of this chapter, we find Aaron doing what was seen as wrong. Yet his intent was to do right. Many times I have seen people judge a thing from the understanding of their own mind. Never stopping to think of the intent of what they judge. As I have full intent of showing in what will be the last thread I ever post.

Leviticus 11 1-8
This chapter is going to be covered in parts.
1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them,
2 "Speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'These are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth:
3 Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud--that you may eat.
4 Nevertheless these you shall not eat among those that chew the cud or those that have cloven hooves: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you;
5 the rock hyrax, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; 6 the hare, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; 7 and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.
8 Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They are unclean to you. 9 These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers--that you may eat.
Some have said that the laws for clean and unclear meat was put in place for health reasons. Though this can be shown, to some degree anyway, it doesn't hold water for every beast that is called unclean.
Others say it was put in place to make sure that Israel would remember what was good for sacrifice, and what was not. However, as was made clear in my class on Biblical Law, is that once more it doesn't add up. You see, by the guide lines given, Deer, Elk, Moses, Orax, Ibex, and many others, fall into the category of kashru, yet they are not named at any time as being ok for sacrifice.
Many people also follow the idea that Yeshua has changed this law, and we can now eat just what ever lands on our plate. Yet others say we are not to eat meat of any kind, as it was not given to us as food in the garden. This howevr over looks what was said after the flood, (Gen. 9:3)
Still one ther teaching out there will use that same passage to say, "The laws of Kashru were only given to the Jewish people, as Gen. 9 is clear that everything was given for food." Though I will ageree with this teaching to a point, I must point out that in Rom. 11:17-18 makes it clear that we become a part of the family of Abraham. As such, wouldn't the same laws apply to us that apply to them? In part I would say yes. You see, there are Laws that are for the blood line of Israe only. Just as there are laws for the priest that work in the temple., that don't aplly to the whole hose of Israel.

'These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers--that you may eat.
10 But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you.
11 They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination.
12 Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales--that shall be an abomination to you.
We are not told why some things are clean and others are not. Over the years however many ideas have came to light. There are a lot of people that are allergic to shale fish of all kinds, this many be one of many reasons. 13 'And these you shall regard as an abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard,
14 the kite, and the falcon after its kind;
15 every raven after its kind,
16 the ostrich, the short-eared owl, the sea gull, and the hawk after its kind;
17 the little owl, the fisher owl, and the screech owl;
18 the white owl, the jackdaw, and the carrion vulture;
19 the stork, the heron after its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.
Though a larg part of the birds named eat meat of some kind, not all do. There remains a debate over birds like chicken, turkey, and so on. For any that wish to eat by this Biblical diet, it is not so easy today, one must read every thing to make sure they remain with the confinds of this diet. As for me, yes I do my best to follow this diet. After all, if I am to remain obedient, (well ok as much as I can) then it is my job to seek out what the Word tells me applies to me.
20 'All flying insects that creep on all fours shall be an abomination to you.
21 Yet these you may eat of every flying insect that creeps on all fours: those which have jointed legs above their feet with which to leap on the earth.
22 These you may eat: the locust after its kind, the destroying locust after its kind, the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind.
23 But all other flying insects which have four feet shall be an abomination to you.
The idea of eating bugs just isn't my thing. However, in a survival situation, that could change. I have never removed anything as an option when it comes to that. So yes knowing what HaShem said is good for food, tells me what won't kill me or make me sick. After all, He created us, so it stands to reason He knows what is best for us.

For any that were following this, I am sorry it has taken so long to back to it. I have had some life changing things come into my life, and they have done a lot of things to change how I see the Word. Keep in mind it has only strengthened my understand of the things I hold dear in my heart.
I have found my way back to this sight, and going to finish what I started. It will be slow, as part of what has changed in my life is the ability to sit for long periods of time. So please be understanding.

Looking back it seems that I did get off track a bit. However as I ended in Lev. 11 lets move on from that point.
Lev 11:24"The following creatures will make you ceremonially unclean. If any of you touch their carcasses, you will be defiled until evening.
Many over look what is said here. If one is ceremonially unclean, it doesn't mean your lost. It simply means you need a bath, and shouldn't enter the templ until you are clean. This fits with how almost everyone thinks really. You wouldn't go to your church smelling like you just ran 10 miles in 110, and humid weather. So think of this in that frame of mind. It may change how you see this passage and others.
Lev 11:25If you pick up their carcasses, you must wash your clothes, and you will remain defiled until evening.
Lev 11:26"Any animal that has split hooves that are not evenly divided or that does not chew the cud is unclean for you. If you touch the carcass of such an animal, you will be defiled.
Lev 11:27Of the animals that walk on all fours, those that have paws are unclean. If you touch the carcass of such an animal, you will be defiled until evening.
Now this may sound a bit oviuse to most of you. When you have had a beloved pet pass away, most will bury said pet. That means you pick it up, move it to the grave, and so on. The next thing you do when your done is wash your hands. Now why would you do this? When said pet was a live, and you rubed it's belly or how ever you showed love to them, did you wash your hands right after that? Most people don't. So why the change in what we do? It has to more with what we learned in life than anything. Yet at the end of day, we all shower, (or I hope we do) and then we put on clean close to go through the next day.
It may not seem to most that they are keeping the law, and so this doesn't seem to fit. I can deal with that.

Lev 11:28If you pick up its carcass, you must wash your clothes, and you will remain defiled until evening. These animals are unclean for you.
Lev 11:29"Of the small animals that scurry along the ground, these are unclean for you: the mole rat, the rat, large lizards of all kinds,
Lev 11:30the gecko, the monitor lizard, the common lizard, the sand lizard, and the chameleon.
Lev 11:31All these small animals are unclean for you. If any of you touch the dead body of such an animal, you will be defiled until evening.
Now it has been said that the Word contradicts it's self here. Simply because it doesn't repete the washing part. Well HaShem was in hopes that your memory would be long enough to see that it is implied, even if it isn't spoken.

So true, however if one wishes to understand the N.T. with more clarity they must have an understanding of the Torah. Oh I am not sure if you know this or not, however, Torah is also used to denote the whole of the Tanakh by some. However I know that the 1/2 Torah as read on Shabbat isn't really a part of the Torah.

Sorry for some reason this site thinks I can type like a pro. LOL So I had tomake an addition rather than just edit.
I also include reading from the N.T. as it does help to explain some of the teaching, and pricibles found in Torah. I am reminded of a Midresh. One that if we all floowed the teaching found in it, would further our understand of the word.
A gentile walks into the house of Shammai, and asked. Rabbi will you teach me the Torah as I stand on one foot. Shammai picked up a broom and chased him out.
Not to be detoured from his quest, he goes to the house of Hillel and ask the same thing. Hillel said, begin. So the man stood on one foot. Hillel said, Love HaShem with all you heart, mind, soul, and strength. The rest is commentary, now go and study.
This midresh holds fare more meaning than just study, it also points to the proper way, and shows that a study must include the whole of the Word.

Lev 11:32If such an animal dies and falls on something, that object will be unclean. This is true whether the object is made of wood, cloth, leather, or burlap. Whatever its use, you must dip it in water, and it will remain defiled until evening. After that, it will be ceremonially clean and may be used again.
There are many things in life we may never grasp a full understanding of. This is one for that many will never find it's full meaning or even why some things can be reused after cleaning, and others can't. The Sages say if something is used for a productive purpose it can be defiled, if not, then it can't be. However one must ask themselves, is this speaking to the spiritual aspect, or physical.
Lev 11:33"If such an animal falls into a clay pot, everything in the pot will be defiled, and the pot must be smashed.
Lev 11:34If the water from such a container spills on any food, the food will be defiled. And any beverage in such a container will be defiled.
Lev 11:35Any object on which the carcass of such an animal falls will be defiled. If it is an oven or hearth, it must be destroyed, for it is defiled, and you must treat it accordingly.
Lev 11:36"However, if the carcass of such an animal falls into a spring or a cistern, the water will still be clean. But anyone who touches the carcass will be defiled.
As I said above, we must ask is this spiritual or physical. After all is not a clay pot holding water doing the same job? If so what makes it different? This may sound simplistic,and to some a bit out laddish. All I ask you think about it. If you have a cistern, one may not ssee it, and so' unknowingly drink from it. There is no sin doing something wrong, if you have no knowelege of the wrong doing. HaShem would not place that on His children. After all are we not told,

If we had do a full inspection of a citern everytime we needed water, that would a heavy burden. As for the stream, if a bug fell in down stream, woould the water upstream also be defiled? Besides, moving water more or less renews it's self with every passing drop.

Lev 11:37If the carcass falls on seed grain to be planted in the field, the seed will still be considered clean.
Lev 11:38But if the seed is wet when the carcass falls on it, the seed will be defiled. This seems to answer it's self, after all a dry seed is hard, and there for less likely to absorb any thing that is dry. Others point to fact that a seed is dead. Where as a wet seed may absorb readily many things it comes into contact with.
Lev 11:39"If an animal you are permitted to eat dies and you touch its carcass, you will be defiled until evening.
Lev 11:40If you eat any of its meat or carry away its carcass, you must wash your clothes, and you will remain defiled until evening.
Please note that eating defiled food doesn't change the way one is wash themselves. It also doesn't make you unclear for life. This does leand it's self to the idea that the Laws are not physical, rather spiritual in nature.
Lev 11:41"All small animals that scurry along the ground are detestable, and you must never eat them.
Lev 11:42This includes all animals that slither along on their bellies, as well as those with four legs and those with many feet. All such animals that scurry along the ground are detestable, and you must never eat them.
Lev 11:43Do not defile yourselves by touching them. You must not make yourselves ceremonially unclean because of them.
Lev 11:44For I am the LORD your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. So do not defile yourselves with any of these small animals that scurry along the ground.
Lev 11:45For I, the LORD, am the one who brought you up from the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. Therefore, you must be holy because I am holy.
Lev 11:46"These are the instructions regarding land animals, birds, marine creatures, and animals that scurry along the ground.
Lev 11:47By these instructions you will know what is unclean and clean, and which animals may be eaten and which may not be eaten."
As this is a topic that is highly debated we would do litter to good if we didn't look at why. Clean and unclean animals are seen by many as a thing of the past. They turn to Acts chapter 10 to make their point. What is left out of their telling of the chapter is the most telling part. Though it is there for all the world to see, is what Peter tells us this vision was really about. It was about people, not beast. If you read Acts 11, this should become clear.

the Torah, only covers the 5 first Books, and the Tanakh covers entire Old Testament. there's no New Testament involved. I am a Student of the Torah/Tanakh myself, have been for years. interested in what you bring forth. praying for your discomfort to heal, in the Name of Yeshua of Nazareth!
I didn't reply to your direct question please forgive me. I do read Chaabed's emails yes. However, I do not let it influence my study. It is a tool nothing more. Just as the Chumash is a tool, yet I may not agree with the teaching of the sages. I am a firm believer, that when the new covenant started, We were given the Spirit to help us with our understanding. There is no longer a neeed to turn to man for a full understanding. Every thing we need is in one book. Well 66 books if one wishes to picky.

So many women regard this as invalide. Along with many other things I have heard them say, most of them I wouldn't repeat in a room full of sailors. LOl I do hope you will keep in mind I am not here to tell you what to do, how, or when to do something. If you truly feel the Laws are not needed then by all means don't.
Lev 12:1The LORD said to Moses,
Lev 12:2"Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. If a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son, she will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her menstrual period.
Lev 12:3On the eighth day the boy's foreskin must be circumcised.
Lev 12:4After waiting thirty-three days, she will be purified from the bleeding of childbirth. During this time of purification, she must not touch anything that is set apart as holy. And she must not enter the sanctuary until her time of purification is over.
As with most things, we as humans can only speak to what we understand, so please if have a better understanding of this let us all know. As always I see the Laws as spiritual and not so much physical. True there are shown in our physical life, and that is what is to set us apart from others in this world. I do hope that most of you will look on the laws as a way to show your faith, and an act to find salvation, after all, that is what they do.
The act of purification does nothing for your salvation. It does however make one rightualy clean. Blood as we know isn't something we deal with every day, unless your a doctor or a lab tec. 2 things I wouldn't to be for sure. Yet if we do come in contact with it, we always wash our hands. Well most people will.
Why do we do this? Because we know blood can carry some nasty things, like disease, parasites, and who knows what. We also understand that it holds life. So if see someone bleeding, we want to help if we can. So if blood is life, once out side the body, it dies. So if a dead bug can make us unclean, it stands to reason that blood can as well.

Now here is where it has been asked, why does it tkae longer after the birth of a girl? The truth is, I am not sure anyone has that answer. It is however thought that a male is a bigger blessing. A male keeps the fmaily name a live, where as a femail takes on the name of the husband, and losses the family name she had at birth. A bit simplistic for most, yet the Torah doesn't give a reason.
Lev 12:6"When the time of purification is completed for either a son or a daughter, the woman must bring a one-year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or turtledove for a purification offering. She must bring her offerings to the priest at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
Lev 12:7The priest will then present them to the LORD to purify her. Then she will be ceremonially clean again after her bleeding at childbirth. These are the instructions for a woman after the birth of a son or a daughter.
Lev 12:8"If a woman cannot afford to bring a lamb, she must bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons. One will be for the burnt offering and the other for the purification offering. The priest will sacrifice them to purify her, and she will be ceremonially clean."
As with all things in Torah, there are always acomidasions for the poor. This is why Yeshua told us, His laws are not burdisum.

Lev 13:2"If anyone has a swelling or a rash or discolored skin that might develop into a serious skin disease, that person must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons
Lev 13:3The priest will examine the affected area of the skin. If the hair in the affected area has turned white and the problem appears to be more than skin-deep, it is a serious skin disease, and the priest who examines it must pronounce the person ceremonially unclean.
Lev 13:4"But if the affected area of the skin is only a white discoloration and does not appear to be more than skin-deep, and if the hair on the spot has not turned white, the priest will quarantine the person for seven days.
Lev 13:5On the seventh day the priest will make another examination. If he finds the affected area has not changed and the problem has not spread on the skin, the priest will quarantine the person for seven more days.

I am going to change this up a bit. We will speak to the full chapter and leave much or the reading to you. As some may know, the priest was somewhat of a dotor as well. He had an understanding of many things, and health as is made clear hear is part of wheel house. Though it is true that leprosy isn't a big problem today, it was then. True some translations use the word leprosy in this chapter, However the word s'eis or tzaraas is used in the Chumash. The sages tell us that there is no translation for the word s'eis, so why Leprosy is used in some I am not sure.
However, as we know leprosy is highly contagious, and well you know the stories.
So why 7 days? 7 is the number of completion, and can be seen in a lot of things. A cold last 7 days most of the time, and many other things run a 7 day cycle.

When one seeks to find the first Commandment, where do we look?
In my limited understanding, I would say that God's first commandment is found here:

Genesis 1:3-4

"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."

In relation to this, the Apostle Paul said:

2 Corinthians 4:6

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

It seems to me that God's commandment for the light to shine out of darkness foreshadowed our need to receive the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ so that we might be called out of darkness and into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Without this enlightenment, we are totally incapable of keeping any of God's commandments.

Moving on we need to look at the next chapter. I know I am skipping some, and some where someone will try to a big deal of it. that is if anyone is even following this thread. As it stands I can understand why many would rather I end this now. Well I don't feel that is what HaShem wants. Someone some where may be reading this, and find the truth they wish to find.

Lev 14:34"When you arrive in Canaan, the land I am giving you as your own possession, I may contaminate some of the houses in your land with mildew.
Lev 14:35The owner of such a house must then go to the priest and say, 'It appears that my house has some kind of mildew.'
Lev 14:36Before the priest goes in to inspect the house, he must have the house emptied so nothing inside will be pronounced ceremonially unclean.
Lev 14:38the priest will step outside the door and put the house in quarantine for seven days.

As some love to try to muddy the water with their ideas and hopes, I wish to make it clear now. This falls into the laws that don't apply out side of Israel. Although we should be on the look out for mold in our homes, for other reasons. Some mold can kill us, and we wouldn't even know what was going on. Others like the black mold that was responsibale for the Salem witch hunts, Made people hallucinate. So even if we don't need to have a priest look it over, we should remove it from our homes.
