I want to post that passage it is inspiring IMO!

Matt 5:2-12, "
And He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:

Blessed are the poor in spirit; enduring hardship and being humble, for theirs is the Kingdom of Yahweh.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see Yahweh.

Blessed are the peacemakers; for they will be called the sons of Yahweh.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Yahweh.

Blessed are you, when men will revile and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.

Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for greatest is your reward in heaven, for in the same manner they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

John (Yahchanan) 7:37-38, "On the last day, that Great Day of the Feast; Yahshua stood and cried: If any man thirsts, let him come to Me, and drink! He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water!"

praise Yah!

I love these verses and to me they very accurately describe the characteristics of a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven!

Wow they do.

So I have to do this to, ohhh man!

Exodus 34:5-7, "Then Yahweh descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the Name of YAHWEH. Yahweh passed in front of him, and proclaimed:

YAHWEH, YAHWEH Almighty,

merciful

and compassionate,

longsuffering,

and abounding in righteousness

and truth.

Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity, and transgression, and sin; but by no means leaving unpunished those who are guilty
..."

Yahchanan (John) 17:21-24, "That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me, I have given them; that they may be in unity, just as We are in unity. I in them, and You in Me--so that they may be made perfect in unity; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them, as You have loved Me. Father, it is My will that they, whom You gave Me, also be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world."

John 7:16-17 "Yahshua answered, them, and said: My doctrine is not Mine, but His Who sent Me. If any man will do His will, he will know about this teaching--whether it comes from Yahweh, or whether I am speaking of My own authority."

my mom's gently napping on the couch...(can you say, being 80 is great? lol)
so...
i used to read those verses and think, oh, man, i better go out and try to become
poor in spirit, and mournful, and meek...

now i see it and think--oh! it's a description of who i already am!

it's also a kind of lovely description of the Gospel...we see we are poor, (cuz He shows us!)
we mourn our sin, we become meek before God, we begin to hunger and thirst...
He makes us merciful, He makes us pure in heart, He makes us peacemakers...

God is so very, very Good. :)

Our pastor did a series of sermons on the beatitudes. The beatitudes are a picture of Jesus and what we are to be like. It was a really good series.

He delighteth not in the strength of the horse:
he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him,
in those that hope in his mercy.

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.
